"I can't seem to face up the facts."
Music played on the radio of the car while Denki drived. His hands kept a small grip onto the steering wheel while he hummed to the familiar song.
"I'm tense and nervous and I cant relax."
Fall leafs decorated the sides of the road. He drove passed the city and headed to where him and husband lived. A small house that was farther away from the city that was almost forty minutes from there house, much to Hitoshis liking.
"I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire."
It was close to dinner and Denki was hungry, excited to see what his husband had prepared for dinner.
"Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire."
Tough today was Halloween, the two weren't planning on doing all that much for the spooky holiday. They were both tired of moving so much sense they just got settled in to their new house from the apartment they had to stay in after they got married.
"Pyscho killer."
Even if they didn't plan to do much, Denki was excited to be spending the rest of the day with his husband, watching Halloween movies, cuddling, and eating candy that could've been for trick or treaters.
"Qu'est-ce que c'est?"
He had left the house due to their lack of candy. He himself insisting he went out to go get some for the two to share.
"Fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fa fa fa, better."
It may have seemed silly for him to be so insistent on buying candy, but Halloween wasn't Halloween if you didn't have candy. Well, in Denki's opinion.
"Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away."
Denki wore a tank top with a red flannel, wearing black, ripped jeans and black converse that day. It wasn't anything festive or resembled a costume, though the compliment he was given by his husband told him his outfit was just fine.
"Oh-oh-oh."
When Denki spots their home, he smiles. Two hours had passed from him just going to a store in the city sense the one more near had no candy in stock.
"Pyscho killer."
The house itself was small compared to some of the houses that were placed farther around. The outside was white with a dark grey roof. The house seemed so much bigger than their old apartment, Denki still had to get used to the space they now had.
"Qu'est-ce que c'est?"
Denki couldn't help but glance at the ring that was placed on his finger three years ago. The memory of their wedding always made Denki smile, feeling a type of giddiness like some type of highschooler all over again.
"Fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fa fa fa, better."
Driving into the driveway, he parked in place. On the porch sat two jack-o-lanterns that were carved out just a few days ago. The one that looked like a ten year old did it was clearly his own while Hitoshi's looked like a professional. Every Halloween his husband never disappointed with his skill of using a knife.
"Run, run, run, run, run, run, run awa-"
Taking the keys out of the ignition, the car became completely still. The engine, music, and air conditioning stopped and Denki breathed in as he looked at the house he parked in front of. It wasn't a new house, nor was it old. The porch looked warn and Denki couldn't help but wonder why when they first moved in, considering the house looked nice from the inside.
Grabbing the plastic grocery bag that held the sugary treats, Denki got out of their car and closed the door with his foot, clicking the lock of the car twice for precaution to ease his own anxiety about the car being stolen.
The weight of his step caused a creak from the worn, wooden stairs that led up to the front door that he walked up too. He rummaged through the keys until he found the one for the front door, unlocking it with a simple motion.
Letting the door open by itself from a small push, Denki came inside. "Toshi! I'm home!" Denki instantly called out as soon as he stepped foot inside. He kicked the door closed, making sure the locks were secure.
The air was what had thrown Denki off as soon as he breathed in. It didn't smell like something that'd be dinner, it smelt, sweet? "What'd you do while I was gone? Bake cupcakes?" Denki asked as he walked towards the kitchen, putting the grocery bag onto the counter, Hitoshi's back facing him from where he was at the sink.
Hitoshi still wore the plain black T-shirt he had worn all day, along with his dark denim jeans that were a little worn.
"Well, I was gunna surprise you with it." Hitoshi began. He didn't place any effort to turn his head and look at his husband, to focused on washing his hands. "But Midoriya came over and helped me make the frosting." He finished with a small shrug, tone calm.
The blond tilted his head. "What'd he come all the way over here for?" He asked. Midoriya didn't live near them, two hours away if he remembered correctly. "I had borrowed something he needed, so he came to get it." Hitoshi supplied the answer flatly, seeming almost annoyed at the fact the two were talking about his friend.
Denki nodded, looking around at the kitchen that seemed to be recently cleaned. Hitoshi turned off the sink, drying his hands before he turned around to finally look at his husband.
Regardless of his seemingly annoyed sounding tone, he looked fine from what Denki could tell by just looking at his expression. His eyes were soft as he gazed at him, seeming to admire him. He gave a small smile towards him, and Denki smiled back.
"So, what's for dinner?" He asked, tilting his head a slight as he watched his husband and step closer and closer to him until he was right Infront of him, making the two only a couple inches apart.
"Pasta." Hitoshi answered, tone flat.
"Sounds good." He told him, though moving away from him. "Let me just take off my shoes-" He began, but Hitoshi took his hand, leading him to their small dining table that only had two chairs. His husband made sure he was sat Infront a plate of pasta. It was still warm and smelt amazing. His mouth watered in hunger.
"No need to take off your shoes, just eat." Came Hitoshi who leaned down to his ear, speaking quietly. He placed a kiss on his cheek before going over to his own seat, sitting across from Denki who smiled softly at him.
The blond took his fork and didn't hesitate to dig into the meal that was prepared. He stabbed into the noodles before taking a bite, humming in satisfaction at the taste. Though it was the familiar taste of pasta, it delicious and flavorful either way.
Hitoshi kept eyes on him, eating his own plate of pasta slower than Denki. His gaze didn't falter to look down at his food or to look around the room as he usually did, which made Denki occasionally look up at him with confusion, getting a smile whenever he did so.
It almost made him feel uneasy with how closely he was being watched. It felt as though he were easy prey for a predator who would laugh and snicker at the supposed simple kill. He shook his head at the thought of it.
"You look lovely Denki." Hitoshi suddenly stated, causing Denki's face to heat up.
Hitoshi wasn't one for many compliments. Whenever he said them out of the blue, he always looked stiff and embarrassed to admit his own thoughts about Denki's looks, the way he seemed now was rather odd with the small smile on his lips, head tilted slightly as he ate one single noodle at a time.
He huffed a small laugh, ignoring the way his stomach turned uneasily for a reason he wasn't all too sure on. "Ya, because I look great with tomato sauce all on my face." Denki spoke with a small eyeroll in amusement, taking his napkin to wipe it away. "The red looks nice on you." Hitoshi added.
Denki's movements stopped, looking over to Hitoshi. His eyebrows furrowed at the statement repeated in his head. Is he trying to freak me out? It is Halloween so it'd make sense. He thought uncertainly.
"Ha ha, very funny. I get what you're trying to do." Denki begins, wagging a finger at Hitoshi whose brow rose. "You're trying to scare me. Well guess what, it's gunna work here buddy." He says with confidence lacing around his voice as he took a large bite of pasta.
Hitoshi lets out a small chuckle, shaking his head as if dismissing on what his husband had spoken, but he looked down at his plate instead of Denki, taking more than one noodle to eat now.
The two continued to eat in a somewhat comfortable silence. Few noises kept the quiet to be more bearable, like forks hitting glass plates, Denki occasionally tapping his foot on the ground, and cups being picked up and placed back down after taking a sip of their drinks.
By the time Denki finished his plate of food Hitoshi had stood up, taking his and Denki's plate even if he wasn't even finished with his own food.
"I could've gotten my own plate." Denki mumbled, slumping his seat. Even if he tried to argue with Hitoshi and take back his plate, Hitoshi was taller and stronger than Denki was, and there's been plenty of times where Hitoshi has shown to use such a fact to his advantage.
Even if Denki just mumbled, Hitoshi somehow heard him. "It'd ruin the surprise cake I made you and the help Midoriya provided to make the frosting taste better would be for nothing." Hitoshi told him.
He heard the fridge open and close; a knife being grabbed and a smaller plate being set on the counter. Denki waited, finger tapping on the wooden table as he grew inpatient quickly. He was never one to have patience, always a little too curious for his own good.
"What's the flavor of the cake?" Denki asked, resisting the urge to turn his head sense his back faced the kitchen. Even if he had dying curiosity, he didn't want to ruin his husbands sweet surprise he had made for him, even if Midoriya did help make the frosting taste better.
"Red velvet." His husband answered, voice calm and smooth as he assumedly cut through the cake.
After a minute, Denki was presented a slice of red cake, though the frosting wasn't white like he had expected, it was a pink, almost red color. "Your blood theme is pretty cool, if not a little gross to think about when eating." Denki stated as he grabbed his fork.
Hitoshi didn't bother with his own slice, going over to sit back down as he watched his favorite show of watching Denki eat things.
Said blond didn't eat any of the cake as he looked at his husband with confusion. "Don't you want to eat some?" He asked. He was rather curious of his husband's sudden fascination of watching him eat would be. Hitoshi was always quite observant of people and things, but he wouldn't make this obvious.
Hitoshi shook his head, eyes glancing at the cake and then back at Denki. "I'm not that hungry. I might have some later though." He told with a small shrug, but Denki couldn't help but furrow his brows a little with how robotic the statement seemed to sound.
Denki gave a nod as he took a bite of the cake.
The cake was sweet and delicious on his tongue. It tasted like your average red velvet cake. It was the frosting that had Denki's nose scrunching. The frosting was sweet, but something about it tasted bitter, tasted off.
"Something wrong with it?" Denki almost flinched at question. He looked up to meet the familiar purple gaze he saw every morning and every night. Hitoshi's elbows were rested on the table, his fingers tangled together as he watched Denki with tired eyes.
Denki gives a small shrug, swallowing the bite he had taken. "What food coloring did you use?" Denki asked, getting some of the frosting on his fork and licking it off. Ya, the taste was definitely coming from the frosting.
"It wasn't really a food coloring." Hitoshi stated truthfully, gaze not leaving Denki. His statement was odd, causing the blond man to question what that had meant.
"What's in it then?" And how the fuck did Midoriya make it taste better? Denki thought.
Hitoshi hummed in thought, time ticking away slowly as Denki awaited his answer. He sure seemed quite happy to take his time. "Well, I just used some softened butter, vanilla, milk, powdered sugar, and..." Hitoshi dragged on, thinking though Denki could tell he already knew.
"Blood." He finished.
Denki's eyebrows furrowed a little, and something about the way his husband spoke made his stomach twist with unease. He forced out a small laugh and snort regardless, telling himself this was all some Halloween joke, a mere prank.
"No, for real. What'd you put in this?" He asked, his husband raising a brow toward him in a nonverbal response.
Denki shifted in his seat, uncomfortable.
"I am being for real. I have no reason to lie to you right now." Hitoshi spoke and Denki felt bile ready to claw its way up his throat at the sincerity in his husband's tone. It was a similar tone he heard on their wedding when Hitoshi had spoken the words "I do."
"Hitoshi, what do you mean?" Denki's voice had become serious, eyebrows furrowing fully and his skin seemed paler.
"I've already told you. Midoriya stopped by while I was making you a surprise and he had offered to help. I didn't need his help, but I figured he could be added instead." Hitoshi's expression was its usual unphased stare, though it was his eyes that had Denki looking at him with pure terror.
Those amethyst eyes Denki took the time to observe were full of honesty and a brutal truth.
"This isn't funny." Denki told, standing from his seat. Looking down at the cake with a bite taken out of it wasn't the right move. It had heat crawl up to his body as he felt sick. Hitoshi fallowed his movements, standing.
"I know, it's a lot to take in, but there's no need to worry. Now Midoriya can be somewhere more freeing." Hitoshi told him, as if the place he referred too didn't mean the man who was claimed as his friend to be dead.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Denki spoke, voice shaky and disbelieved. How could this all be real? how was his husband, a gentle, tired, caring man turn out to be the killer of his own best friend? And who else had he murdered without Denki even knowing?
It was at that moment when images of bloodied bodies and screams of those he deemed close to his heart while Hitoshi was the caused flashed in his mind, the gory thought making him gag until he threw up on the slice of cake.
The food that was prepared by his husband came out in just a gag as it came up from his stomach and out of his mouth. It tasted awful and made his throat burn, causing him to cough and gag as it came out.
A hand moved some of his hair away from his face. It should've been warm and comforting, but it made Denki flinch away. "It's alright." Hitoshi told, voice low and sweet, though it held no comfort to Denki, not now, and maybe not ever.
When he stopped puking out his food, he found it hard to stand. His legs shook and wobbled while his forehead beaded with sweat.
"Get away from me." Denki muttered, taking a sidestep away from Hitoshi. The unsteadiness of his legs caused him to easily trip over one of the legs of the chair, his kneecaps hitting hard against wooden floors. He inhaled through his teeth in pain, though he still scooted away from Hitoshi.
Looking up, he couldn't recognize the man he so married. His expression held no care, his eyes were guarded, a frown on his lips as he narrowed his eyes at Denki as if he was the one who had done something wrong. "You act as if I'm going to hurt you, Denki." He stated, stepping closer as Denki scooted farther away until his head hit the wall.
Whatever words Denki tried to muster out failed amongst his dry throat, eyes never drifting away from where Hitoshi now stood. The smell of puke burned his nose, if not just making him feel sicker.
Hitoshi kneeled down so their eyes could meet as he observed the golden eyes that stared back at his with fear. The ring that was worn on his finger felt like a burning weight, a reminder of how long he had known Hitoshi just to end up in this horrifying position.
His husband began to reach a hand, his every move was noticed in the frightened gold eyes. He seemed to be reaching a hand out to cup his cheek as he did to reassure him many times before.
But Denki didn't allow nor want the other to touch him.
The blond saw an opening of an escape and took it, backing away to the side before turned to get up. He didn't realize he was holding a breath until he let out a shaky exhale as he dashed towards the front door.
"Denki." Hitoshi drawled out his name, his tone eerily casual for Denki's taste.
Denki's hands fumbled at the door's locks, cursing under his breath at his shaky hands as he felt his heart pound hard in his chest in adrenaline and fear. He heard Hitoshi's steps come closer, feet lazily stepping on the ground.
He stalked closer and closer, taking his time as Denki unlocked the front door to make an easy escape. It was all too easy.
Until it wasn't.
Hand on the door handle, he twisted it, about to pull the door right open, though Hitoshi's hand rested on the door, stopping him from going, from leaving. Denki froze, body stiff. He began to back up, but he hit into Hitoshi's chest, his husbands other arm blocking him in.
"Denki, I would like you to understand that I am not trying to hurt you." Hitoshi began to speak, voice close to a whisper as got closer until Denki's back hit the door. "But you are making it difficult with all your scrambling around." Denki could feel each breath of each word once Hitoshi's mouth went by his ear.
"I was hoping you'd try to understand." He kept going, taking advantage of Denki freezing in fear. "Just be quiet and we can work our way through it, right? That's what all good couples do, communicate. Right, Denki?" He moved his head, his eyes on Denki's once more.
It felt like he some sort of prey with how Hitoshi used his height to his advantage, and Denki already knew of his strength. He was now regretting all the times he's skipped going to the gym with him, because maybe then would he win a fight against him.
A hand slipped into his pocket, taking away Denki's phone. "I don't think you need this right now." Hitoshi told, throwing it behind him and making Denki cringe at the sound of hitting the ground hard.
"I need to clean up your mess." He stated next, his eyes never left Denki's, watching his every little move he could possibly make. Denki swallowed a lump in his throat. "But I can't trust you right now, so I need you to go lay down and take a little nap, alright?" His tone changed to sounding casual, if not slightly annoyed, to calm and gentle.
Denki nodded, coming up with a plan to escape in his head. Hitoshi's lips tugged into a small, soft smile that Denki would have smiled back at if it weren't for the situation. "I'm glad you understand. Don't get too scared, I'll let go."
And it was then did Denki realize what the other was getting at as a hand was wrapped around his throat, squeezing so tightly to block his airway. His hands gripped onto his wrist and forearm, trying to pull his hand away as his began to choke and gasp for some kind of air that was forced to not come to his lungs.
Nails pierced at pale skin, dragging across Hitoshi's arm in an attempt to make him pull back as black dots invaded his vision. The only noise he could focus on was the pounding of his heart, any other sounds or noises went into muffled ears.
His eyes stung as he looked around wildly until his gaze landed back on Hitoshi, who stared at him with a frown on his face instead of the smile that was previously on his face.
He didn't realize he began to cry until Hitoshi used his free hand to wipe them away. He could the other was shushing away whatever sobs or whimpers that somehow escaped his throat.
His face was red, lips turning purple until his vision fully turned black and his body became still and lax.
And as promised, Hitoshi let go.
🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪
Denki's eyes didn't open right away when he woke up. Instead, he squeezed them more shut as he groaned.
His head pounded, making him put a hand to his forehead as his eyebrows furrowed. Why did his head pound? He questioned, opening his eyes slowly as he was met with the familiar walls of his and his husbands bedroom.
His husband. Cake. Halloween. Midoriya, gone, murdered.
He shot up once he finally recalled all that had happened, making him look around frantically to see if Hitoshi was anywhere near.
Fortunately, he wasn't in the room. Where he was, Denki wasn't sure, but he'd rather not see him.
His shoes were still on, their nicely made bed now a little ruffled and messed up due to Denki being placed there. Looking to the wall where a picture of their wedding day was framed and hung up almost made the blond feel nauseous. Was his husband always a killer, or did something in his brain just snap?
Questions upon questions, yet he was never given the opportunity to ask what was true and what was all a terrible lie.
He stood up from the bed, stepping with his heel, then the ball of his foot, to his toes, keeping his steps as quiet as he could make them.
The bedroom door remained open, causing Denki to hesitate in his steps. If he knew one thing, it was that Hitoshi was no fool. Their bedroom door always creaked and squeaked whenever they opened or closed it, Hitoshi being the main one to complain of such a thing, so why leave it open for Denki to easily slip through?
A noise came from the kitchen, dishes being put away he assumed with the clattering noise of plates and cups.
Denki looked toward a window. It was dark outside now, the clock showing 11:45pm. It was still Halloween, almost midnight. It was starting to get dark when they ate dinner, more so Denki. The taste of puke still lingered in the back of his throat, making it feel dry and if he spoke, he could only assume his voice to sound a little rough.
He moved out of the room, steps still silent as his breath was held in. Any noise that he made he felt Hitoshi would somehow hear him.
The kitchen, he could not see, but he took that as a good sign as he moved to go to the back door instead.
Anywhere near the kitchen and he'd be done for.
He was just few steps away from the dark brown back door. The door was locked, but the top lock was loose. Denki was the one who was always paranoid with it being so loose, but now he was relieved that he nor Hitoshi had yet replaced it.
A hand went around the front of his shoulders, knife suddenly placed near his throat and Denki's eyes grew wide with fear as his body was pressed against Hitoshi's torso.
"I see you have woken up." Hitoshi stated, kissing his head though the knife remained. "I know, using the same knife we use to cut food for killing is unsanitary, but, I ordered some new ones, that way it's a win win." He told, moving the knife up to Denki's cheek.
Denki had mustered up some kind of strength to speak. "Why? W-why do this? What happened?" Denki had asked, voice shaking as his eyes never left where the blade went.
There was a sigh met with silence, leaving Denki with a mind full of racing thoughts. "It started before I met you." He told, as if that'd reassure him. It did quite the opposite. "When someone bullies you so much and your parents are never there to help you, you tend to want everyone to just go away."
Denki's heard of Hitoshi's family and the struggles he's faced, a sob story to hear but the realization of what had happened to that bully, multiple bullies, made his heart sink. "But I met you and I only had to kill others on occasion when I felt like it." Hitoshi went on. His tone was almost unrecognizable with how bitter it sounded in his ears.
"Then why Midoriya, he was your friend." He couldn't help but ask in a small cry.
"He was good man, but he came at a bad time. I do regret it, though slightly. I was just craving a kill." Another kiss was placed on his head, the knife pressing down onto Denki's cheek bone as he slowly drawled out the pain, dragging the knife along until it made a nice clean cut on his cheek bone.
Denki let out a pathetic little whimper, his cheek stinging in pain.
"That does not matter because I have a fun game we can play. I know you like games." Hitoshi spoke, his tone going back to its causal tone.
"What kind of game?" The blond asked, voice so frightened and shaky, you wouldn't have thought he was speaking to his loving husband.
"Just a chasing game." Denki's breath hitched at the idea. "I'll be giving you a five second running start, sound fair?" He asked, giving Denki no choice but to nod as the knife pressed against his throat, though not leaving a mark.
"Good. Your time starts.." He let go of Denki, giving him full freedom to the back door. "Now."
He let no time go to waste, going over to the door as he unlocked it, opening it and letting it slam into the wall with how hard he swung it open. The back yard was quite big, though there was a forest that was connected to any houses next to theirs's that took up quite a bit of the backyard.
"One."
Denki rushed outside, the cool October air hitting his face as he made a run for it. Screaming and yelling for neighbors that were simply too far wouldn't do anything for him besides waste his breath.
"Two."
He ran with all his might, the bottom of his shoes so smooth it almost caused him to slip on the smooth grass.
"Three."
He didn't dare look behind himself as he made it to the forest, not caring if he got lost, though he ran through thorns and twigs, the holes in his jeans letting his knees get cut and sliced from time to time.
"Four."
He thought going into the dark forest was good plan; to hide amongst the trees to give him time to find somewhere he could call someone, to hide.
"Five."
Hitoshi began his chase, running dangerously fast with the knife in hand. It was all too similar to any horror movie out there, though Hitoshi had no intension on slicing and stabbing into his husband's heart, had no use to do so.
He heard Denki's rushing and rustling when he made it to the forest, heard how his feet snapped twigs and thorns snagging on his clothing. But best of all, he heard when Denki tripped, falling down a hill as he cursed.
His legs took him faster, making his way to his husband as Denki still tried to recover. When he saw his blond husband, leaf's stuck to his golden blond hair, the cut he caused bleeding out beautifully, he knew he had already won.
Hitoshi made his way down the hill as Denki saw him and tried to back away, but Hitoshi went down to hover over him, his legs pinning Denki's down as he stabbed the knife into the grass and dirt right next to Denki's head which caused the blond to freeze.
"Looks like I win." Hitoshi spoke, his voice breathless as a grin spread across his face. Denki looked at him with such fear, scared of what he may do with the knife near. Really, Hitoshi could do many things.
The silence was filled with their heavy breathing from their chase, but now the chase was over all from one wrong step that had caused Denki's own chance of winning. Now does he fully take in that his husband is a killer. One wrong move with him around and he may be slaughtered and left for dead.
If Denki had one more chance to get out, to get away from all this, he chose to use his chance now.
"Let me go." Denki pleaded, using just a breath to talk as his eyes watered so helplessly. Hitoshi used his free hand to grab on to Denki's their wedding rings hitting together. "Only death can do us part." He told, voice almost a whisper.
"I have no reason to let you go, Denki. My heart still belongs to you." His words could've been sweet, something Denki would call him a dork for, but tonight when the clock almost struck midnight, he could not.
"I'll make sure to tell you all about this in a much better way next time." Hitoshi told, as if a promise as he grabbed the knife from where it was stabbed into the ground, the handle facing the blonds head. "Don't take tonight and think I don't love you." He told honestly. "I truly do love you."
And it was that moment did the knife's handle hit into the side of the blond's head, the purple haired killer using all his strength to make sure his husband was passed out, vulnerable. His scared expression turned into one of peaceful slumber, though Hitoshi assumed he would have a nasty headache when he woke.
He left the knife to sit on the ground, his main task was lifting up Denki whose body had been forcibly made to relax due to his unconscious state.
Hitoshi lifted his husband, holding him in a bridal carry as he made his way back to the house, taking carful steps and occasionally kissed Denki's poor little head as an apology.
🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪 🕸️ 🔪
Denki awoke with a gasp, eyes going wide as he instantly sat up, eyes looking around wildly. His hurt almost as bad as a hangover.
"You ok?" The voice made him jump as he turned his gaze to the other man in the bed. Hitoshi looked at him with tired eyes, hair messy as if he's been sleeping and Denki had caused him to wake up.
The blond moved to the edge of the bed, looking at him with horrified eyes. He was tense and nervous, and he couldn't relax. "Get away from me." Denki spoke, his voice almost raising to come out as a yell.
Hitoshi sat up, revealing that he had no shirt on as he furrowed his eyebrows, eyes showing concern Denki couldn't get himself to trust. "Hey, hey, what happened? You ok?" He asked, seeming so genuinely concerned and worried, it almost made Denki feel like he was the crazy one.
"I'm not falling for that bullshit, I know what you did, don't pretend everything's ok after you killed Midoriya!" He seethed, but the only response he was given to his words was a confused glance as his husband scooted a little closer towards him, though when Denki tried to go further away, he almost fell off the bed.
Hitoshi rose his hands up, surrendering. "Look, calm down Denk's. I don't know what you're talking about, but you were just asleep, ok? We were watching movies and in the middle of one you heard the dishwasher turn off, so you went to go put dish's away but that thick, glass salad bowl ended up falling on top of your head somehow." Hitoshi explained, never getting to close as he explained it to him very carefully.
"You woke up and you just wanted to go to sleep. I checked and thankfully no glass got stuck in your head sense it all broke into thicker pieces, but your cheek and knees got a little scratched, alright? I didn't kill Midoriya, it was all just a bad dream." He spoke, tone so soothing, it made Denki feel like a fool.
Denki couldn't help but reach a hand to feel on his cheek where the cut was, though all he felt were bandages, few smaller bandages on his knees.
That's another thing, he wasn't wearing his outfit anymore, now just wearing boxers and an old T-shirt Hitoshi didn't wear often anymore because he had started wearing it as a sleep shirt. "If you want me to go sleep on the couch, I'll sleep on the couch." Hitoshi offered, standing up.
Denki hesitated; eyebrows furrowed as he thought his options over. "No, no it's fine, the dream just... Spooked me, is all." Denki said, and Hitoshi looked at him with a soft smile, sitting back down in bed.
That smile was no smile of a killer, what was Denki even thinking? How could that all be real? Hitoshi was a simple man who liked cats, enjoyed biking and loved Denki, heck, Denki took his last name. So how could such a thing ever be true?
As Hitoshi got readjusted, Denki noting how all he wore was pajama pants Denki had given him for Christmas just last year, Hitoshi opened his arms, an invitation that was open, letting Denk decide whether or not he wanted to snuggle up with Hitoshi or still needed space.
Denki chose the first option, taking his invitation and snuggling close to his husband who kept himself sitting, legs out as Denki laid his head onto his thigh, the others hand going into golden, tangled locks as he rubbed his head soothingly.
"If you need me to get you anything, just tell me." Hitoshi told to him in a tired mumble that it made Denki feel guilty for ever causing him to wake up. "No, I'm ok, I just needa calm down." Denki told honestly.
It took a moment or two before Denki's body fully relaxed, eyes closed though Hitoshi knew his lover was not yet asleep. He continued the motion of rubbing Denki's head, it seeming to help him calm down as golden locks were moved around messily.
Though the soft smile that was on Hitoshi's face had morphed into the wicked grin Denki had seen earlier that night.
But Denki did not see it, nor would he ever. Though maybe next Halloween Hitoshi would strike again, for he was an unseen killer.
