Adribat October Day 12: Autumn Leaves

Notes:

Yeah yeah it's not October anymore...

BUT THAT MEANS ITS NO WIP/NO SKIP NOVEMBER!

happy Halloween (belated)

And happy get-your-fics-done November!

Seriously, come participate! No big event or anything just- taking a break from one fandom to work on that one idea you had 6 years ago, maybe dig up that old wip and revamp it, or you could work on finishing all your multichap fics (stilly /lh) and start the new year with a clean slate for all your glorious ideas!!

Either way, I recommend you do it!

Enjoy <3

Work Text:

Adrien was fond of tea. A part of the reason was that he had been raised on tea, his father had drunk it a lot and always had high quality tea to drink. Thanks to that, he was always exposed to various high quality tea and over the years had grown fond of it.

His tastes had changed and grown as well. Gabriel liked black tea, maybe a white tea. Plus, the man had it on a schedule.

Personally Adrien didn't really care for black tea. The more expensive tea he grew up with was admittedly better than some of the cheaper black tea he'd had over the years. As of late however green tea and infusions were some of his favorites, the taste attracting him.

His boyfriend however, Damian, was also fond of tea…

Although he was what Adrien would call a “tea purist”. Meaning, he didn't think infusions qualified as tea.

Adrien argued that they totally did.

Which led to the current predicament.

Damian sat across from him, sipping a black tea. It was fall, and autumn leaves drifted down to form a soft bed of multiple colored leaves. The trees discarded their leaves to form a blanket on the ground in an effort to keep it warm for the winter, is what Adrien's mom had told him when he was little. It was chilly out and Adrien had declared it tea time to which Damian had agreed.

So, they both agreed to enjoy some morning tea on the patio behind Wayne Manor.

Except.

Damian had a black tea.

It wasn't even good black tea.

Adrien laughed, “I see you chose a black tea.”

Damian simply raised an eyebrow, “What is wrong with that?”

“Well…” Adrien started, “It's a black tea. I figured you would prefer something of higher quality…”

Damian snorted, “One can enjoy a black tea without it being some sort of fancy tea wannabe.”

Oh now it was on! Insulting Adrien's infusion, how dare he!

“It is not a fake tea, it is tea.” He said with emphasis.

His boyfriend glared, “It is nothing more than a fake. At least my tea is real tea.”

Adrien glared back and refused to be intimidated, “Infusions are real tea! And for the record, your black tea is cheap and tastes less than horrible! I know you have better taste than that, I have met your mother.”

Damian chuckled, “You didn't have to bring mother into it.”

Adrien shrugged as a cool breeze made them clutch their warm tea closer, “You brought my infusion into it first, and I know what kind of tea she gave you.”

They both sipped their tea, steam wafting up into the cold morning.
