Chapter Text
I.I
The fledgling was cold.
It had been lying out here, on this cold, hard, ground in a secluded alleyway for who knows how long.
It could have been days. Weeks. Months. Possibly years.
It felt like centuries.
After its sire had run off, abandoned it, time had felt strange to the fledgling. It was hard to keep track of time when its creator had just run off, leaving it with a deep dark pit of despair in its soul where it’s sire’s love was supposed to go.
The fledgling was hungry.
It wasn’t sure what it was hungry for, but it knew that the burn in its throat could only be satisfied by one specific thing.
That specific thing seemed to leave a lingering smell behind with every human, every being who walked past the alleyway; what it was, the fledgling didn’t know.
The fledgling didn’t know much. Just that it missed its sire. Its sire who left. Its sire who abandoned it to starve, to hurt, to die.
The fledgling’s head snapped up when it sensed someone, something approaching.
