Arthur is a Strange One

Summary:

From peeving on people’s conversations to going into stranger’s houses and talking about “gaining honor”, here’s a look at everyone watching Arthur act wacky around the camp.

Chapter 1: Arthur Stalking People

Chapter Text

Abigail and John turned to stare at Arthur, who was currently standing and staring at the two of them. John glared as he said, “Private conversation.” Arthur backed up a mere 4 steps.

“Arthur!” an exasperated John yelled only for an unintimidated Arthur to back up 2 huge steps. Thankfully, though, Hosea saw, so he came over and told Arthur to do something so the couple could be left alone.

“I swear!” Abigail chided. “That man is the cause for all the gossip in camp! Susan should get onto him instead.” John knew that Abigail loves Arthur, but he did agree. After a few minutes, though, Abigail went off to find Jack.

After she leaves, Arthur suddenly walks up to an unimpressed John. “Hosea is makin’ me apologize,” he mumbles, head slightly downcast. John couldn’t help but snicker, which earned a glare from Arthur.

Micah was debating with Bill when Arthur popped up behind them. “Morgan, you creep!” Micah had shouted. “Get!” For once, Arthur actually left, mumbling, “Ain’t much more of a creep than you.”

Dutch came over to Micah and Bill, leaning on a table. “Don’t mind Arthur,” he told the pair. “He’s been getting in on everyone’s conversations for as long as I can remember.”

“He should mind his manners,” Micah angrily said, proceeding to sip his beer.

“When he was 15 he came into I and Hosea’s tent. We had to share at the time. He was so traumatized that now he avoids it.”

“Yeah, well- Wait, what? What’d y’all do??”

Dutch clapped Micah on the back, then told him, “He’ll learn one way or another.” Micah snorts, finding the idea of Arthur’s misfortune humorous. Bill looked between the two, getting up with a grunt and leaving.
