Work Text:
“Darling, it’s two in the morning.”
I pouted as Emily turned to her side, her back facing me and pulling the blanket up at her shoulder. I nudged her lightly again, scooting closer.
“Please Em?”
She groaned, “just go to sleep; we can do it when it’s time to wake up.” Emily mumbled, turning towards me again and trying to pull my back down to bed.
“But I want ice cream with you right now,” I softly pleaded, giving her my best puppy eyes when she cracked her own open.
She ran a hand down her face and sighed and I immediately smiled.
“Fine, fine.” I pulled down the blanket the second the words came out of her mouth and walked to the kitchen with her following tiredly.
I got the ice cream out of the freezer and served the both of us a small bowl each.
“Thanks,” she muttered, still rubbing her eyes.
I smiled, “thank you.”
When we finished, I set our dishes in the sink and gave her a grateful kiss before going back to bed, giggling.
“You taste like ice cream.”
