Incident Report: Dabi’s Reawakening
Location: Yucatan Peninsula
Assets on station: USS Boise, Virginia-Class Attack Submarine
Known Kaiju on Location:Dabi, Rodan, Dactyl, Vigilantis, Godzilla, Shoto, Thunder God
Report and Documentation from USS Boise after returning to Charlston, SC for repairs.
Record Below is of the fight from the perspective of USS Boise and her crew, who were the only human asset on location:
Below is a recording of the situation aboard the USS Boise at the time of the breach.
“Radar has Titanus Rodan northbound with Dacyl on his tail, course zero, nine, eight”, a feminine voice of the radar officer shouted.
“Speed,” Shouted the Captain.
“Mach 2.4 and climbing, sir,” the radar officer shouted.
“Sonar, where is Godzilla?” The Captain ordered.
“Sonar lost track of him three minutes ago, we expect he is ashore heading towards the seal.” the sonar officer remarked.
“Confirm, Godzilla has made it to shore.” the Radar Officer shouted.”Titanus Shoto, Bakugo, and a third, unknown Titan have entered the airspace, course two, seven, zero.”
“Command said they were releasing Vigilantis and Shoto, why is Bakugo here?” the Captain shouted.
“Command says he escaped once he sensed Vigilantis being released.” the young voice of the comms officer shouted.
“What is the Kaiju’s ETA?” the Captain shouted.
“Ten minutes sir.” replied the Radar Officer.
“All hands, dive below the thermal layer. Dive planes 30 degrees down angle, flood ballast tanks one and three.”
An alarm reverberated throughout the ship as the Boise prepared for combat. The crew repeated the captain's command, the USS Boise made it to the Thermal layer before a thunderous boom was detectable on the recording.
“Explosion detected,” the sonar officer remarked.
“Damage report,” The Captain ordered.
“No damage to the ship, it appears the explosion was at the Dabi containment site.” the damage control officer said.
“Can we confirm?” the Captain asked.
“Not unless we go to periscope depth, Cap’n” The Damage Control Officer remarked.
“Radar, could you get a rough view of the battle with a radar buoy?” The Captain asked.
“The Kaiju are as big as mountains, so It should not be hard.” the Radar officer responded.
“Alright, deploy radar array. We need to view this fight.” The Captain ordered.
A cry of challenge could be heard bouncing through the hull of the submarine, Godzilla’s reply answered back. Creating a noticeable echo through the sub detectable over the crew’s voices.
“Radar?” The Captain asked.
“Unknown Kaiju sighted on the mountain top where the Outpost was located, Godzilla and the Unknown Kaiju that flew in with Shoto and Bakugo are rearing for Challenge.” The radar officer stopped for a moment, before continuing. “Sir, we just got confirmation that the Unknown Kaiju is Vigilantis, he apparently has the ability to fly. The Unknown Kaiju on the mountain is confirmed Dabi.”
“Prepare Tomahawks to fire, we will provide backup for the Kaiju if necessary.” The Captain called, “All hands, prepare for battle. This is about to get ugly.”
“Water temperature above the layer increased in temperature by one point six degrees Celsius.” A crew member shouted.
“Smoke has obscured the Kaiju on the ground, Rodan, Dactyl, and Shoto have disappeared into the smoke bank.” The Radar Officer shouted.
There was a brief moment of silence.
“Sonic boom detected,” The Radar officer remarked. “Large object entering the upper stratosphere at high speeds, estimated three Rodan specimens are engaged in a grappling match.”
“Smoke?” The Captain asked.
“Still obscuring the object and a majority of the other Kaiju,” the Radar responded. There was another pause. “Impact on the object, another object has impacted into the ball of Rodans, possibly Bakugo.”
Radar imagery from a nearby airport radar station showed a rodan-like shape emerge from the smoke, then slam a beak down upon something. The ball convulsed then broke apart in the Troposphere, one large trail of smoke and two smaller ones fell.
“Incoming, Bakugo is unconscious and falling. Dactyl is unconscious and falling. Dabi, Shoto, and Rodan have engaged in close range combat and are on the path to impact the ground.” The Radar officer shouted.
“Dabi is ripping them apart…” The Captain gasped.
“Radiation levels have spiked!” a sailor shouted.
“Godzilla has appeared from the smoke!” the Radar operator shouted, “he’s aimed at the melee!”
Godzilla used his atomic breath in an attempt to get Dabi off Rodan. Dabi, using his leverage against the far bigger Titan, blocked the shot with Rodan’s body.
“Breath Fired, impact on the Melee.” Radar reported.
“He’s trying to offer fire support! Follow his command, launch Tomahawks. Target, Dabi.”
“Firing Tomahawks 1-9, Target Dabi” The Weapons officer shouted.
Nine Tomahawks left the underwater tubes of the attack submarine. Modified to fire on flying Kaiju, the nine missiles streaked into the air onto the falling Kaiju.
“Radar, guide them in, make sure Dabi doesn’t use the Turkey to block your shots.” The Captain said.
The submarine held their breath.
Godzilla initiated another attack with his atomic breath, again hitting Rodan. Who shrugged off the brutal attack and was biting away at Dabi, whose oily blue fire kept them wrapped in smoke and made accurately biting down difficult.
Shoto tried to freeze his opponents' fire out using ice. Which quickly boiled away when in contact with Dabi and his flames.
Before the three titans could impact the ground of the Yucatan, the Tomahawks slammed into Dabi’s face. Stunning him long enough for Godzilla, Rodan, and Shoto to slam him with a fury of attacks. Atomic breath, beaks, and claws raked Dabi. Putting him between them and the ground, shielding them as they crashed.
“Impact!” Shouted the radar officer.
Deku used his black whip weapons to keep Dabi on the ground, using his hooked feel, Deku grabbed into Dabi’s fiery flesh.
“Ground Melee is ensuing, cannot distinguish one monster from another.” Radar stated.
“Where are the two Rodan specimens that were falling earlier?” The Captain asked.
“Dactyl is on a collision course to our location,” the radar officer sounded.
“Right full rudder, increase speed to fifteen knots. All hands, prepare for impact!” The Captain shouted.
The USS Boise was struck by the wings of a struggling Dactyl. Causing the vessel to plummet to 100 feet below the thermal layer with intense flooding. Damage was sustained on the starboard side on the stern. Forcing the USS Boise was then immediately out of the fight, and had to withdraw,
It was unknown what happened after the withdrawal of the Boise, but Dabi’s body was found later on sight, surrounded by a wildfire with his head removed from his body. Radiation burns on the body showed intense combat with Godzilla, and the body was covered in crystalline ice. Deku showed signs of new scars along his body similar to Rodan’s beak. And Bakugo was irritated beyond reason after returning to Outpost-27-1A. Rodan and Dactyl both retreated to an unknown location. Godzilla also disappeared to an unknown location, possibly to heal after the fight.
All other nearby locations that could record data on the battle were destroyed in the fires created by Dabi.
Monarch is currently cleaning up the location, and is compensating communities displaced by the event. Firefighting crews have been dispatched to the local vicinity.
