jimin knew he didn't have to wait for taehyung to arrive. he always took advantage of being able to be at a destination in a matter of seconds. jimin hated to admit it but he envied taehyung for being quick and often quiet, even though his voice occasionally gave away his presence, other than that taehyung was a very quiet person. jimin's wings could only take him somewhere at a certain speed before he'd be exhausted from overworking himself, so naturally he was just a tad jealous. it disappeared the moment he remembered what taehyung was. his best friend was a vampire, a creature who fed off blood. the thought of drinking blood disgusted jimin. he guessed being angel had its benefits.
the sun was setting, less people were walking around campus. it wasn't safe for jimin to be alone at night. angels were often sexually harassed and harmed because of the innocent vibe they gave off and their angelic features. angels were often mistaken as sirens, but the kind who wouldn't harm a fly and would never lure men into their trap (it was against angel beliefs). this made them extremely vulnerable towards predators.
jimin let his legs swing while sitting on a bench. he tried to look as invisible as he could to avoid any potential predators lurking around campus. he barley shot taehyung a message to walk him home.
he avoided eye contact with every person bypassing, not wanting to draw attention to himself.
once he received an okay from taehyung he knew he didn't have to wait any longer. in a matter of seconds taehyung appeared slowing down his running pace to jog up to jimin. he sat down right beside him with a huge grin on his face revealing his fangs. he gave out an exaggerative sigh, "sorry for taking so long... traffic y'know?" taehyung teased chuckling at his own joke.
jimin rolled his eyes, "let's just go home, i'm tried as hell," he got up knowing very well taehyung would be right behind him. he had no patience for jokes today.
both of them had been best friends for the longest time. when they were thirteen, people pulled on jimin's halo completely oblivious to the pain they were causing the poor boy until taehyung picked up on it and pushed the people away announcing they were clearly hurting him. they hit it off instantly and became best friends. they were basically attached to the hip.
"how was practice?" taehyung finally caught up with jimin who was crossing his arms around his chest to ward off a little bit of the shivers running across his body.
jimin swallowed a grumble at the thought that taehyung didn't have to worry about the cold weather. vampires couldn't tell whether something was hot or cold, "it was good. we're learning a choreography from one of yoongi's songs. hoseok is being a pain in the ass 'cause he wants it to be perfect for his boyfriend."
hoseok was a knight who looked like any normal human being until his natural instinct to protect kicked in and suddenly he was the strongest person in campus (excluding other knights like jungkook). jimin always thought hoseok and yoongi were an unexpected pair that oddly fit together like puzzle pieces. yoongi was a time traveler who used time to his advantage when he was too lazy to do any of his projects or needed more time to do a project. which made jimin wonder why he always looked so tired when he had the ability to time travel?
jimin's friends had pretty cool powers. seokjin was a seer and namjoon was a wizard. jimin had to constantly remind himself that even though angels were vulnerable at night where demons lurked he had awesome advantages like healing others, telekinesis, and flying. but he often couldn't help feeling like being an angel was useless when being a wizard was cool as hell.
the angel zapped out of his thoughts the moment taehyung held onto his arm.
by now the sun finally settled itself leaving them in the dark with the campus lights guiding them to the dorm. it kind of irked jimin, but he didn't want to show it.
taehyung abruptly stopped, and jimin curiously looked up at taehyung. his eyes were looking straight ahead. jimin's heart pounded against his chest at taehyung's mobile expressions switching from horror, pained, then settling with a beatific smile.
jimin was too scared to look towards what taehyung was looking at. he knew very well what was to come, but he knew that if he didn't act now taehyung would be in big trouble. therefore he took a shaky breath craning his neck to what caught taehyung's attention.
by now he could hear the beautiful voice invading his ears, however not affecting him like it was to taehyung. he couldn't quite see them well, but he knew it was a siren. they stood there, seductively moving side to side in the middle of a field they were crossing. the siren was bright covered in pastel yellow, pink and orange light, skin completely white from what jimin could see. normal people often mistook sirens as angels due to their beauty and light.
before the angel could run away (with the vampire, of course), taehyung let go of his hold on jimin's hand. he didn't waste a second to run across the street totally enchanted by the sirens voice. the angel could hear slight giggles of excitement the siren elicited from taehyung.
jimin panicked. his very first reaction was to run after taehyung, "tae! stop!" by now they were only a few feet away from the siren, but jimin wasn't paying that much attention to who the siren took image as to lure taehyung in. he was too focused on getting the vampire the hell away from them.
he situated himself smack in the middle of both the siren and taehyung, "focus on me!" it wasn't working, no matter how loud the angel was being, taehyung didn't leave his eyes off the siren. there was a loopy smile on his face and half lidded eyes, "tae please..." he pushed taehyung away from the siren. he considered slapping the younger out of his trance but decided not to, because he knew it would be no use.
the siren was becoming louder. to a person entranced by the siren, their song would be beautiful, but to anyone in their right mind, it was piercing and anxiety inducing.
jimin could detect the smugness in their voice pissing jimin off. he refused to let go of taehyung, knowing very well the moment he let go taehyung would be a goner. jimin looked back at the siren about to give them a piece of his mind for wanting to hurt his best friend.
jimin almost fell to the ground at who the siren was shaped as. there were a familiar pair of wings on them and a halo on their head. the siren looked exactly like jimin, except radiating a white light so taehyung's attention wouldn't falter away.
a blush settled itself on his face. his embarrassment of knowing a dark secret of taehyung's was nearly enough for him to let go of taehyung, but he didn't. "taehyung!" he yelled shaking the lanky boy.
taehyung was drooling at the siren. jimin looked back once again as if needing to reassure himself that what he was seeing was correct, the siren was in fact shaped as him. the angel shook his head, he had no time to think about taehyung having a huge crush on him.
the siren looked at him while singing. they (jimin? siren jimin?) had a pleased look on their face. jimin could sense the superiority they held knowing taehyung was on the brink of choosing siren jimin than the actual angel.
at that point the vampire particularly had heart shaped eyes. jimin tried pushing the boy back again, it did nothing. a thought crossed his mind, he wasn't sure if he could do it considering he always had been a coward, but taehyung was on the edge of breaking down in front of the siren. so jimin stopped thinking and kissed taehyung.
the moment they connected their lips the voice stopped. the only sounds jimin could hear were the hitching of breath coming from taehyung and the sounds of cars in traffic.
when they kissed it was actually pretty disgusting if jimin was being completely honest. taehyung was drooling all over his chin so it was wet, and clumsy from the clatter of teeth, but it was enough to shake taehyung back into reality.
once they parted away the siren was no where to be found.
jimin was a little breathless, his heart was still beating fast, but he ignored it in favor of peering up at a gaping taehyung. jimin couldn't help but laugh, "so i know for sure i don't have a crush on myself, so you wanna tell me why that siren looked exactly like me?"
