Work Text:
“Jeremy its good to see you, you’ve died your hair” The red-haired woman called out.
Jeremy’s eyes went wide. He did not except to see his high school crush here. “Pam its great to see you too. I wouldn’t have guessed you’d be at one of these.”
Pam nodded to the statement, “Well normally I wouldn’t be invited to these parties.” The two looked at each other and laughed. The joke very obvious to both on why she would normally be here, “But no, my girlfriend got a plus one invite. She’s around here somewhere, I think you’d enjoy meeting her.”
Jeremy did a look around the room in a panic as if looking for the girlfriend. Pam guessed he knew who her girlfriend was, Jeremy always did keep up with current affairs. “Only if you want me to meet her.” His panicked voice told Pam he was worried about what Pam might have told her girlfriend about him. How much of a creep he had been in high school, and how she got away when she went off to college. She will enjoy this while she can.
“Jeremy calm down, I didn’t tell her much about you,” Pam’s smile going from easy going to predatorial, “Just about some jerk that would not take no for an answer after I broke up with him. She’s promised me one of your knees caps if she found out who you were.” This route though didn’t seem to bother Jeremy as he continued to look about the room in a panic.
“Well Pam it was nice catching up to you I’d…”
Interrupted by another guest of the party, “Jeremy it’s been too long. How’s the wife and kid? Heard your child was part of another rally.”
Pam studied Jeremy as he froze like a deer in headlights. It didn’t take her long to realize that he was panicking because he didn’t want her to know he was married or had a child. “Oh Jeremy, why didn’t you tell me you got married? I could regale your wife and kid about all your antics back in school.”
Completely ignoring the plot driving guest, Jeremy slowly put his attention onto Pam. In a barely audible voice, “We just ran into each other I hadn’t had time to tell you. I should really get going and find my wife and child.”
“I’ll help you look, if you kept to your type I’ll be looking for a red head.” Pam offered.
“NO!” Jeremy quickly responded in panic drawing attention to the two. “I mean no need; you should enjoy the event. They are my fam…”
“Dad, do you know whom you are talking too.” The voice of a young woman flows over them. Pam heard the quiet cuss on Jeremy’s tongue. “I just love your work. I know it’s impolite to ask but do you think you can sign something for me?”
Pam studied Jeremy and then his child. She had black hair, purple eyes, and a very dark violet dress. Pam loved it, and the discomfort it brought to Jeremy. That alone was worth an autograph to her. “I normally don’t sign anything. But for the look on your dad’s face, I think I can manage. Need a name though.”
The somewhere around sixteen-year-old looked at her father, and the full-blown panic attack he seemed to be experiencing, “Not sure why, he was always cool about you when I brought it up. Normally he even helps with picking out articles about you. I’m Sam by the way.”
Pam stopped at the name. Did this fool of a man really name his daughter Sam? The idiot. He really couldn’t leave well enough alone. That was going to be their child’s name. Samual for a boy, Samantha for a girl. They were happy then. And in one moment this man brought it all back to her, but now she can do something. Now she has powers and can protect herself. Now…
“Pammy!” the nickname broke through her mental tirade. Looking around there was a clear circle of guests around her trying to move away. Only Jeremy standing next to her with his hand held up to her but not touching her was within the ten feet around her. Even his child with that name was backed away. “Sorry, we’ll leave. You are obviously…”
Like a bad joke Jeremy was interrupted again. “WHY DO YOU HAVE MY IVES’S FACE YOU STUCK UP BITCH!!!” Harleen Quinzel’s voice reached over the crowd. Jeremy froze, and the crowd parted to reveal his wife and one fabulous Harley Quinn.
Pamela Isley stood stunned. It was her, if she never had her accident. Maybe if she married Jeremy and their Sam survived. She looked over at Samantha Manson and could see it now. She looked like a young her with Jeremy’s natural black hair. She had been cloned. The man had her cloned. He cloned her and married the clone. It wasn’t Pamela Isley that spoke next, “Jeremy, I think we should take this conversation off the gala floor.” Poison Ivy summoned some vines grabbing the Manson family and her girlfriend. “I think we provided enough entertainment for tonight.”
“Ives I found the craziest thing,” Harley spoke as while being dragged out of the ballroom.
“Jeremy dear, explain what is going on!” Pamela Manson yelled at her husband.
“Ancients I’m being abducted by Poison Ivy, so cool, gotta send Danny and Tuck a pic of this,” Sam pulled out her phone and took some selfies.
“I didn’t know at first, it was my father that did it,” Jeremy cried when Poison Ivy throw him into a back-office room. The other vine toted people being set down gently.
Poison Ivy cursed that man. Ida was an inspiration but that husband of her’s couldn’t die fast enough. It seemed he wasn’t done causing trouble for them. That old bastard hated her for her upbringing and looking at her clone she could see his influences. The clone issue now made a lot more sense. “Now Jeremy and Pamela, explain to me what happened.”
“I’d like to know that to Jeremy,” Pamela struck an identical pose to Poison Ivy. Very much showing off the clone qualities.
“Do I need my bat Ives?” Harley throws out there.
“Pam, I’m sorry. I didn’t even know until you made your debut. Some time after high school, my father and who I thought was you approached me.” Turning to his wife, “It was the first time I laid eyes on you Pamela, though for me I thought you were Pam, back and some how made up with that excuse of a father. You had that head injury and…and I just wanted to believe. I got to take care of you and then we had Samantha. It was like a miracle as doctors said you would never be able…” The look on Ivy’s face stopped the sentence. “By the time you first debuted as Poison Ivy and I realized what happened, I had Pamela and Samantha. My life was to far along to give up either.” Jeremy lowered his head.
“Wait are you saying I’m Poison Ivy’s biological daughter?” Sam asked in awe. “Can I stay with her for summer vacation?”
“I’m a clone. And you knew Jeremy. Our therapist is going to hear about this.” Pamela started her rant at the poor man. Ivy and Harley watch in fascination.
Harley reached over to Sam, “Look at the mini you Ives, can I keep her?”
“Jeremy, I think we have much to discuss later, but if you want, we can take Sam for the summer. Biologically she is also mine and I’d like to get to know her.” Poison Ivy extended.
“Jeremy we can just let these ruff…”
“Code 246” Ivy winced as the slight deeper voice Jeremy called the code out and he sighed as Pamela just seemed to fall asleep. “I have never seen a use for that until now. Also, must do it in my father’s voice.” Sam just stared at the preprogramming in her mother. Knowing her mother was a clone was one thing, but seeing some of the effects of it was difficult. Stunned into silence at what had just happened. “Pam, I don’t think I can make this up to you but please don’t take it out on Pamela. She’s innocent and so is Sam.”
“Look buddy, Ives and I have to talk it out some, but I see nothing wrong with letting this go. If,” still holding Sam like a giant human size stuffed person, “Sam here wants to come visit I think we can even handle that. But again, we need time to take this in.” Harley answered for her girlfriend. “Now this is one other question that I have,” Harley continued but turned as she looked over at a group of three young black-haired blue-eyed boys, “What’s going on with you Waynes? You look like some Bruce is about to adopt another one.”
Dick, Tim, and Damian stared at them for a moment. It was the youngest that responded, “It seems father might not have to adopt this one. This Daniel Fenton might already be his.”
“WHAT?” Sam yelled out.
