    Ahmanet rises to search his eyes, her hand lifting to turn his head back to her. His skin burns at her touch. “They will kill you,” she whispers. “Just as they killed my chosen before you.”

    He looks back to her captors. Jenny starts to move to him, but Jekyll pulls her back firmly. He doesn’t understand.
