Work Text:
You’re treating us to the good chocolate today. That’s very kind of you, Eddie. Can we wash it down with brains?
Eddie snorts softly, snapping another piece of chocolate off the bar, which is indeed, the good chocolate, a high quality dark one that costs way too much to justify now that he’s not trying to keep an alien parasite happy.
He’d been feeling nostalgic today though, so he’d picked it up the grocery store after work. But of course, that’s the kind of comment Venom would make if they were still there, if it wasn’t just Eddie talking to himself, trying to fill the silence and the hole that his symbiote had left in his heart. Venom was always testing Eddie’s limits, wanting brains when they were already being fed expensive chocolate, for example
But wait, that hadn’t been spoken out loud. That had been in his head.
“Venom? Buddy?” Eddie spoke softly into the empty room, his heart hammering in his chest, hope that he hadn’t felt in months sparking inside him.
Hello Eddie. I’ve missed you. It’s so good to be home.
