   Summary

   In 2024, medium Kate Linton is led to Sleepy Hollow by her spirit guide, Aliena, who promises to tell her the truth of the legend of the Headless Horseman.

   In 1777, young Aliena Hawke is shipped off to Europe to marry a stranger, only to discover an unexpected connection with her taciturn husband. When he’s killed in battle, she flees to the place of his death: a small farming town in the Hudson Highlands called Sleepy Hollow.

   In 1799, Sleepy Hollow is tormented by a murdering ghost, drawing an eccentric police constable from New York to investigate: Aliena’s estranged cousin, Ichabod Crane. Eager to see him succeed, Aliena offers her assistance, knowing that he’s her best chance to discover the truth that she knows deep down. A truth that seems impossible.

   The Headless Horseman is her husband.
