Sunny should’ve known better. On the night of Halloween, the weather was colder than usual and his costume was too cool to wear a coat over, and ruin the look of.
Especially since his mother warned him to wear a coat, he left it at Hero & Kel’s house and ran off with his friends. But here he is, face heated, congested, and tired. Thick cotton blankets weighed down on his freezing body as he lay entrenched in his bed. The cool breeze from his fan pushes the bangs out of his eyes, rays of sunlight poking through his blinds.
Today he was meant to attend church with his family, for an event that would normally have his family out for the day. All Saints day, or something like that, his mother was mostly excited to see her church friends. But he’s sick, he’s got a cold, his head feels like it’s trapped in a fishbowl. When he closes his eyes, morning passes him by.
