    Summary

    A long time passed between The Promised Day and Ed showing back up in Roy Mustang's life as a bodyguard. Ed spent most of that time floundering without purpose. He takes a trip to Xing to see his old friend Ling Yao, and starts the long road to discovering who he really is.

    Later, he's not sure he likes the person he's become.

    This story fills in the gaps between the end of canon and the beginning of Conversations Over Coffee. It deals with the breakdown of Ed's marriage, and finally answers the question of why Ming-Yue is so mad at Edward all the time.
