Work Text:

A fluid of power coursed through Chuuya's veins, drowning him with the immensity of his corruption. An unbearable pain hit his body as the waves of power left his veins.

Everything was spinning, his vision was blurry, his head and limbs ached as if he had been run over. Where was he? Why was he bleeding? What were those hands on his shoulder?

His trembling legs gave way, making him fall onto something soft and warm, but it wasn't a mattress, it felt like a person.

Chuuya took a deep breath, feeling a slight pain as something warm enveloped him. A small tingling sensation hit him as he felt his muscles grow lighter and more relaxed.

His vision became clearer, everything was still spinning. He saw a man lying on the ground, in the middle of a pile of debris, arms around him.

His mind snapped. He was on a mission against a gang leader who had the ability to transform into an extremely dangerous beast. He had to use corruption, things he hadn't used in a long time, which probably left his body unaccustomed.

Dazai was probably the one holding him at that moment. He felt more relieved, and tried to slowly move his sore neck to bury his face in the brunette's chest.

Their relationship wasn't that new, but at the same time, they weren't at the point where they would tell everyone in the port mafia. The only one who knew was Odasako, since he already knew about their Dazai's feelings by the redhead.

Try not to move too much. - Dazai's muffled, low voice echoed. Chuuya felt a damp cloth gently wipe against his skin, wiping away the blood that was dripping down. - From the state of your body, it seems like this is the first time you've used corruption.

It was true. His body was so unaccustomed to the maximum level of his power, that it felt like the first time.

- Hmng. - the redhead groaned, the throbbing pain in his body had not yet disappeared, panic did not consume him only because the younger knew that Dazai would take care of him. He always did.

- What a cunning puppy, Chibi must love me very much. - Dazai teased.

The redhead opened his mouth to retort, but the words didn't come out, there was no energy inside him.

Chuuya sighed, his body becoming more relaxed. His eyelids grew heavy, and everything began to distort before his eyes, and everything went black.

He was about to fall asleep when Dazai's arms tightened their grip on him, becoming stiffer.

His eyelids were too heavy to open his eyes, a buzzing sound took over his ears, allowing only Dazai's voice to reach him.

- What are you doing?... - Dazai's muffled voice echoed. - ...We just completed a mission... - the dark-haired man's voice sounded like the sound of a failed call.

What was going on? Who was Dazai talking to?

- He's in no condition! - the older man's voice sounded louder as if he were shouting. - No, you won't... he needs me!.

Chuuya felt two pairs of hands grab his arms and legs, without any delicacy, spreading an almost unbearable pain throughout the redhead's body.

- No!...Chuu... - Dazai's almost imperceptible voice was the last thing to pass through the boy's eardrums.

He was laid down on something soft, like a stretcher, with some kind of belt holding him to it. Chuuya closed his eyes, as various indecipherable noises surrounded his head, making it hurt.

Something was placed over his nose and mouth, releasing heavy, cold air. An oxygen mask?

Who put this on him? Where was he going? Why wasn't Dazai coming along? Did the mackerel have more important things to do?

A slight pain struck his chest, and it wasn't because of the corruption.

His thoughts began to dissolve, spiraling. His pains were becoming less and less, as Chuuya's breathing slowed down.

- Da..zai.

Dazai
Dazai
Dazai...

A light invaded the redhead's eyes, spreading a small burning sensation across his iris. He blinked a few times, getting used to the presence of the light.

- Hmng, where am I?

His eyes wandered around the room he was in. Was this the port mafia's infirmary? How did he get there? Where's Dazai?

The redhead moved, trying to sit up, but his wounds still hurt. His arm was bandaged, and there was a bandage on his forehead.

Her body felt like it was made of porcelain, her skin was so sensitive that even the cold hurt her.

Her mind was filled with memories from a few hours ago.

Why wasn't Dazai with him? The stupid mare had promised to take care of him when he used corruption, did he have more important things to do?

His stomach churned.

Not that he wanted to be the priority in the bandaged man's life, but the mackerel could stay with him at least after the corruption. Does he care that little?

Did he send those guys to bring him here? Maybe he didn't want to deal with him like he was now, maybe he was too tired to deal with someone who didn't control his own power.

Chuuya blinked, letting the tear fall from the corner of his eye.

When did he become so sensitive?

- Stupid bastard... - Chuuya muttered, feeling his eyes getting heavier. - You promised.

- Wow, I was only gone for three hours, I haven't committed suicide yet. - The redhead's eyes widened when he heard his beloved's voice behind him.

The redhead felt a sharp pain in his neck as soon as he turned his head to look at his boyfriend, with a sweet, slightly mischievous smile.

Dazai's fingers lightly brushed Chuuya's face, wiping away his tears.

- Did you miss him that much? - A mischievous smile appeared on the bandaged man's face.

Chuuya looked away, feeling his face heat up. It clearly wasn't because he was embarrassed, it must have been his injuries.

- I-I wasn't... - his voice came out a little softer than it should have. Which increased the smile on the brunette's face.

- Aww, you're blushing! - he teased, bringing his face closer to Chuuya's. - Did you miss me, Chibi?

- S-Shut up! - he protested, trying to move his head away, and failing miserably. His neck was too sore for him to move. - I was trying to relax until you showed up to stress me out!

Dazai stepped back a little, with a falsely indifferent expression, and shrugged.

- Okay, I'll go then. - he announced, turning toward the door.

- NO! - the redhead shouted before his head could even process what had just come out of his mouth.

Dazai turned to him again with his usual mischievous smile, and sat down on a bench next to Chuuya's bed.

The bandaged man's playful expression dissolved into a sweet smile. The brunette brought his hands to his partner's face, stroking his red locks. Something that Chuuya loved especially after of corruption, but of course he will never admit it.

Chuuya tried to discreetly lean into Dazai's touch, which always made him feel smaller than he already was.

- Why did you leave me here? - his voice broke, while the younger man enjoyed his boyfriend's affection.

- Mori wanted me to go on another mission. - Dazai sighed. - And I'll send a group to bring you here, so I don't get "distracted" and we think about your safety.

The redhead's face heated up again, thinking that Dazai was worried about his safety.

Argh, the corruption really made him more sensitive.

- And how was the mission?

The dark-haired man narrowed his eyes.

- I didn't go! - he explained. - I sent Akutagawa and Gin in my place and came as fast as I could.

His heart filled with warmth.

- You abuse those two too much.

- Akutagawa has potential and Gin is a focused girl, they will be fine. - he assured.

The older one intertwined his fingers with Chuuya's, bringing his hand to his mouth and giving it a small kiss.

- You come first.
