Two years ago, Hope moved to a small island in British Colombia in Canada. She got the job cause her uncle Kol knew the owner of the island and he had told the owner she was looking for someone who could live there and take care of the place while they were not there, so he suggested Hope since she had finished her military contract and was now looking for a job.
He knew that this would fit her very well since she liked being alone and doing heavy work but the only thing his nieces were worried about was whether she could bring her dog Max with her since he too retired from his military service. The owner agreed to give her a chance and told her to bring her dog.
When they finally met, the owner was amazed by the way Hope's work ethic, she was very handy with tools, she did finish everything that was on the list that she was given.
There were six guest houses, she permanently moved in after the week’s trial and was given a generous monthly payment. The woman that owned the place was happy that at least the caretaker was a veteran and was very organized and could defend herself if someone had the idea to trespass the place.
One thing with the owner was that she would often fly home because she liked the peace and quiet. She was always accompanied by her older daughter Josie who was working remotely from her work office in the city.
Apparently, Josie was working as an editor, translator and web developer so she could do her work anywhere, but she never liked the big city. Her uncle told her that Josie did not like socializing and was very introverted with a light autism personality and it was very rare that she liked someone.
But apparently, she liked Hope because she was easy to speak to and she never made fun of her. The red head was always smiling at her and was genuinely listening to all her rumble and when Josie realized that she would quickly apologize but Hope always told her to stop apologizing for speaking what's on her mind and the big plus was Max loved the brunette and would always be by her side when she was home and Josie was happy to hang out with Max when she was there as well.
What Hope did not know was that Josie liked her more than a friend and she had spoken to her mother and sister about it.
Lizzie was the sister that would come with her mother and sister twice a year and the last time she was there was after Josie told her about her feelings for Hope and she really needed to know if the caretaker would hurt her sister or not.
Hope got up earlier than usual today because she was going to the mainland to pick up Josie around lunch time since she was coming alone for the first time. She finished her cup of coffee and picked up the grocery list that she had written over the weeks. She knew that today there would be a lot of shopping since she had not been in town for almost three months.
"You have to stay here because I'm going to get Josie and then we are going to do some shopping," she said as she looked at Max who just whined because he wanted to come with.
He stared at her with sad puppy eyes and was making a fake crying noise which Hope just laughed and shook her head. "Sargent Max, I know when you're fake crying so stop it, I need you to be a good boy and protect the island while I pick Josie up, so you have at least one more person to talk with"
Max just barked and gave her a happy smile and a low bark because he knew that one of his favorite people would come home since it had been a month the last time, they saw each other. Hope walked over to him and patted his little head as she gave him a hug and a kiss on his head, which he appreciated a lot.
“Okey, I got to go now, I see you in a few hours, okey boy?” she whispered and gave him a last kiss as they walked out of the door, they jumped inside the ATV and drove to the landing strip that was built there decades ago. Max lay down on the seat as she gave him one last kiss and robbed his head and then took her backpack and entered the aircraft as started the engine and smiled at him before she took off.
The flight to town took about fifteen minutes, and once she parked the aircraft in the hanger, she entered the black SUV. It was only 10 PM and Josie would arrive at noon so this gave her time to do some shopping for herself and she had two hours for herself, once she would be done, she would pick up Josie and drive to the Sam’s Club to get whatever they needed.
Hope waited inside the station and as she saw that the brunettes train had arrived, she was looking around until she spotted the tall brunette who looked upset. Hope walked faster towards her as the brunette locked eyes on her, that was also when she noticed that there was someone who was calling for the brunette, but she just completely ignored him.
Hope knew that Josie was about to burst out and cry since she did not like being followed or talked to unless she knew the person so once they locked eyes Hope sprang into action “hey, dude get away from my girlfriend” she said as Josie ran into her arms and moved behind her, people staring at the alteration and seeing some recognized the Parker girl and they too joined Hope and started to gang up on the young man that was following her and harassing.
“Young man, don’t you know you don’t touch or harass girls like this” Enzo, the owner of the café said. He was a friend of the Parker family as well as the other establishments since it was Josies family who had set up the station so that the people who lived in the islands could have somewhere to land their planes and store them and even a harbor where they could park their boats.
Thanks to the Parker family, that harbor and landing strip became the place where all islanders would use when they were going home or to the mainland. At some point Parkers let food truckers stand there and then it just went from there. Cafés and restaurants were built and at some point, the Transit commission and the mayor asked if they wanted to partner up for the train station that they wanted to build.
The guards showed up and took the young man away from them as everyone kept telling them that he had been following and harassing Josie until Hope had showed up and everyone in the community knew who they were.
“Come on Jo, let’s get you home” Hope said with a soft voice as Josie nodded her head and took the red heads hand in hers. Everyone handed them small bags of food and two cups of hot coco that Josie loved. “Don’t worry about it girls, we always keep together and protect one another, take this with you” Bonnie said as she gave Josie a hug, “Thank you aunt Bonnie” Josie said with a soft voice.
“Give me the list and we will get you the groceries, just take my niece home” Bonnie said as Hope nodded her head and gave the list to her. Hope to put her arms around the younger girl’s waist as they started to walk to the car and drove back to the hanger.
Once they got home Max was still sitting on the ATV waiting for them to arrive. The German Shepheard was so happy to see Josie once she got out of the plane. Max barked happily as Josie walked towards him and he ran towards her. “Max, I’m so happy to see you” she happily said as he kept giving her kisses and she was laughing.
Hope loved seeing the young woman laughing and Max was her good boy who would protect Josie, it’s who he is when he knows that someone needs protection, that’s why he was always by her side when she was home.
As they got to Josie’s house, Hope told her to go inside so she can get take a shower and then change to something comfortable while she would heat up the food that they got from Bonnie and Enzo. Half an hour later Josie came back to the kitchen as she had changed into sweatpants and a tee.
“Sit down, the water his hot, just about five minutes left on the food” the red head said as she was moving around the kitchen looking for plates. “You called me your girlfriend” Hope heard Josie say as she was making herself a cup of tea, Hope stopped for a minute and cursed herself for a moment and then turned around to face the brunette who was smiling at her.
“Sorry, I just said what came up on my mind” she said as she handed her plate but noticed the frown on the girls face “what’s the face pretty girl” she asked and Josie looked up “I like to be your girlfriend” she flat out said and Hope smiled wide and reached her hand out for the brunette to take and Josie looked up to meet her eyes and then back at her open palm which she took her time to think before she took her hand together.
“Then this mean I’m your girl now?” Josie asked as they stared at each other “yeah, and I’m yours” she answered back, and they just started to eat their lunch. Josie felt happy and warm in her tummy, she had never felt like that before, sure she had met someone before, but that person never gave her that feeling before.
Later that afternoon Max was barking loud for them hear as he ran towards the bridge as Hope looked out and saw Enzo and Bonnie’s boat park on the bridge “JOSIE, YOUR AUNT BONNIE AND UNCEL ENZO IS HERE” she shouted as the brunette walked out her house. Josie smiled as she and Hope got on the ATV.
They were loading crates of food as Josie walked over to her aunt and jumped on her as Bonnie catches her in her arms. “Sweetie are you okey? Feel a little better?” she asked her niece who just nodded her head “yeah, Hope took me home and we had lunch and now we are together” she said and this surprised “together? As in girlfriends?” and Hope stared at them with a slight blush and Enzo smirked at the entire situation.
“She makes me happy, and she doesn’t make fun of me and always takes cares of me and...” Bonnie held on to her “it’s fine Josie, it’s fine, I’m happy for you and we all know she makes you happy and always takes cares of you, we know that sweetie and I’m so happy for the both of you” Bonnie said as she hugged her god daughter.
Hope just helped Enzo load everything at the back of their ATV and the four of them took a ride back up to the house and Max was running after them. Bonnie and Josie were sitting around the bar table while Hope and Enzo were putting everything away and Hope went to her cabin to leave some of her stuff away as well. This gave Josie time to speak with her godmother and uncle and both her mother and sister letting them know that they were together now and the incident at the station.
Bonnie and Enzo planned to sleep over the house since it was getting late, it was hard to see across the water since it was pitch black. “So, Hope have been here for two years now, are you going to move here full time now that you are together?” her god mother asked but Josie just looked up and stared into the air “I’m thinking of it, the city is getting to much for me and I don’t like it” she said as she was doing something on her computer.
The front door opened as Hope entered with a smile and Josie noticed that something had happened, but Hope did not want to talk about it in front of her aunt. She got up and walked up to her and just gave her a hug, Bonnie saw the face of Hope and understood that it was something was up and excused herself from the kitchen.
“Lizzie called me” was all she had to say as she understood why she felt the way she did “it be alright” Josie said in a sweet voice, “she is coming tomorrow, I guess I have to pick her up from the train” Josie was confused as to why her sister was coming, she was supposed to be in New York for the next three months.
“But why? I don’t understand, she is supposed to be in New York for the next three months” Josie told her and Hope just shook her head “I don’t know, she called me and before I could even say a word she yelled at me to stay away from you” she said in a low voice and that was when the brunette realized that her sister was coming because she did not approved her relationship with the caretaker.
Josie called her mother and sister and as soon as they both answered the video call she started to yell at her sister “YOU DO NOT CALL MY GIRLFRIEND AND TELL HER THAT SHE SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM ME, THIS IS MY RELATIONSHIP AND NOT YOURS LIZZE AND DON’T COME HERE TOMORROW EITHER AND YOU DON’T CONTROLL WHO I LOVE AND WANT TO BE WITH” she said in a very angry voice.
Their mother pitched in and told them to stop fighting, once they stopped arguing their mom started to speak firmly to both “ELIZABETH JENNA PARKER, YOU LEAVE YOUR SISTER ALONE AND YOU STAY IN NEW YORK, LEAVE THE STATE AND I WILL CUT YOUR FUNDING FOR THREE MONTHS” and that made Lizzie shut her mouth as she was pissed.
“Josie, sweetie please calm down. I will be arriving there tomorrow around noon so you and Hope can come and pick me up” their mother said as Josie was still upset and Hope walked over to her girlfriend and turned her around so that they were face to face “honey, please calm down... it’s going to be alright, just like you said... we are going to be alight and we will pick up your mom and we will have a talk about it” she said with a soft voice as the brunette took a deep breath and nodded her head, without a word Josie just laid her head on her lovers shoulder.
“There is nothing to talk about, my daughter has been in love with you for a very long time and she is old enough to know who she wants to be with, I on the other hand is coming home because it’s Bonnie and Enzo’s tenth anniversary and there is a lot of planning to do and I need Hope’s help with it” the twins mother said as Hope felt at ease with that.
“Now that all this is mattered Lizzie, go back to work” she said as the blond cut the video call. “Now girls, I’m very happy that the both of you finally got together and Hope I know that you will take good care of my little girl” Hope smiled as she heard this and Josie saw how happy her girlfriend became “thank you Miss Parker, Josie means a lot to me and yes I do love her as well so the feelings are mutual” Hope said as the twins mother smile at her “I know Hope, you were never really good at hiding your feelings for my daughter” this got the pale woman stiffen for a moment. They spoke a bit more before hanging up the video call.
The next morning Hope did her morning rutin except that this time Max was with Josie in the main house, so she did not need to worry about letting him out. She went inside the house and was greeted by Max who was happy to see her as well as the brunette and the girl’s aunt and uncle.
“Morning everyone” she said as they all said their good mornings and Josie just giving her a kiss on her cheek before taking a seat beside her. They talked about having the anniversary party at the island because the others were coming in from all over the place as well as Hope’s family.
Hope looked up confused at first and stared at Bonnie and Enzo “your parents and your fathers siblings have known each other for almost half our lives, we are old school mates from England” he said as Bonnie added “yeah how could we forget the Mikaelson siblings, your aunt Rebeckah was Caroline’s frenemy and it was hilarious seeing the two of them bicker over Stefan” making Enzo laughed.
“Uncle Stefan chose aunt Caroline instead and Aunt Beckah fell for Elena” Josie said as it was the most obvious thing she knew. Hope to realize how entangled their families were and how deep their bond was as well. “I did not know that our families knew each other” she said as Bonnie just gave her a smile knowing why she never knew that “we were planning to do a candlelight ceremony for our loved ones that we’ve lost, that includes your parents. Klaus and Hayley met so much to me, and I miss them every day” Enzo said as his voice became raspy and Hope smiled and nodded her head “I would love that, thank you”.
An hour later Bonnie left with the two girls as Enzo stayed with Max so he could check all the ATV, four wheelers and the little Japanese mini dump truck that Hope used if she needed to go deeper into the woods while the others was going to pick up some boxes that Bonnie had arranged and get Josie’s mother at the train station.
Hope held her hand as she knew that Josie might feel anxious to be there cause of what had happened the day before but as she looked at her girl Josie felt calmer and relaxed since they were holding hands. It was evident that she was Josie’s calm place in her life, and she was hers. It was not long until they saw the brunette’s mother and Josie let go of her and ran towards her mom.
“Hi honey, you’re so happy today hm... my little girl” her mom’s soft voice “I’m happy, Hope makes me happy, she is mine now and I am hers and is it normal to feel warm inside my belly? Cause I’ve been feeling like that since we got together” she asked her mother who just smiled wide at her daughter’s new feelings.
“Honey, does it feel like you have butterflies in your tummy?” she asked softly and Josie looked at her in the eyes, thinking a bit before answering “yes and it makes me feel things I’ve never felt before, I look at Hope and I just smile all the time, the same when I think of her” she said as Josette knew exactly that her daughter found her true love, a protecter and caretaker of her heart.
“Then yes sweety it’s normal to have those feelings, it’s called love... you my dear sweetheart are in love with Hope Mikaelson and it’s perfectly okey to feel that it is normal to have those feelings inside you” she said as Josie smiled even wider as she stared at her mother who just pulled her into a hug.
Hope stood by the entrance as she was waiting for the mother and daughter duo to have their moment. She knew that Josie would have a lot of questions for her mother, it was her usual take once she started to develop unknown feelings, and she just wanted to know so she just stood there patiently waiting for them.
“Hello Hope, I hope everything is fine after last night’s call” Miss Parker asked as Hope smiled and nodded her head as she reached to take the woman’s luggage. “Yes ma’am, I feel a lot better now. “Miss Bennett is waiting for us by the car” she said as they started to walk towards the parking lot.
People were greeting Miss Parker as they walked, some even stopped her to give her some fruit and veggies and she couldn’t say no because she did not want to be rude to the people who were happy to see her. Hope thought it was funny since this always happens when they come into town and every time, she tried to deny the gifts that they gave her.
Once they got home Josie followed Hope to every task she was doing for that day, Josie loved being by her side as she watched her girlfriend work and she and Max would be sitting somewhere just to keep her company while she was working writing in her book and checking her tablet for.
When Hope was done with all the task the two of them were just hanging in her cabin. Who’s the man was playing on the Netflix in the background while they were making out, Josie was feeling overwhelmed and hot at the same time. She did not want to stop, she wanted every touch of her girlfriend, but Hope stopped before it got to heated “Jo, wait please” she said as they were breathing heavily.
Josie looked at her confused and did not understand why she stopped “why? Did I do something wrong?” and the red head shook her head “no, I just want you to be sure that you want this before we go any further. I don’t want you to do anything you you’re not comfortable with “she honestly said and the brunette sat down and stared at the TV.
“It’s late, I should be going” she said as she started to walk towards the door. Hope didn’t say much but followed her to the house with Max just beside them.
“I see you tomorrow, Jo, goodnight” Hope said as they were standing just below the stairs and Josie turned around and gave her a kiss on her cheek “goodnight, Hope, see you tomorrow” she said as she entered the house, Max went in with her.
Hope felt awful for what happened, but she had to be sure before they started to do anything like that, so Josie understood the consequences of doing it.
Josie on the other hand was confused as to why Hope stopped and walked into the living room where her mother and aunt were sitting and talking about the party.
Bonnie and Josette noticed the upset look at the girl’s face and asked her about it and the questions and answers she gave them were nothing they had been prepared of.
“I felt hot and bothered when I was kissing Hope but then she stopped and asked me to stop and think about if I really wanted this or not” she said and both women knew exactly why Hope stopped.
“Sweety come here” her mother said as she patted on the couch just between her and Bonnie, “so what’s on your mind honey?” her mother asked her softly. Josie thought for a bit before she turned to look at her mom “I wanted to be with Hope tonight, you know like intimate, but she stopped before we even started” she continued as Josette and Bonnie realized what Josie meant but Hope being Hope she quickly shut down the idea. “She told me that I needed to be sure if this was something I really wanted, I don’t really know what she means mom. I love her and I want to show her that” she added as both Bonnie and her mother understood why Hope stopped.
“Honey, do you know what it means to be intimate with someone? Or what romantic relationship is about?” her mother asked her as the brunette nodded her head “I know that if you’re in a relationship with someone, making love with their partner is a way to show that you love each other, that you should support one another in good and bad times” she said.
“True but making love to your partner is also about trust and building a family together and that is something you need to be considering since you know Hope’s condition” Bonnie said as Josie turned her head to face her and then back to her mother who smiled at her and nodded in agreement. “So, it was never about her not wanting you, it’s more of you do make love the chance is that your live might change after that and she just wants you to be sure that it’s something you want with her” her mother said.
Josie realized that she might get pregnant if they do make love and that Hope just wanted her to be sure just in case that would happen. She was quiet for a while and both Bonnie and Josette were a bit concerned about her feelings around that topic. “I want that with her, I love her and I don’t want to be with anybody else, she makes me happy and she sees me for who I am, she does not make fun of me or mock me like others do and she always protects me from bad people, I want a life with her and built our own family someday” she honestly said and looked at her mother and aunt who just smiled at her.
“I can’t tell you that you are not allowed to sleep with someone but you are twenty three now and a grown woman who deserves to be loved just like everyone else even if you are not like others, some people will deem your relationship with Hope bad or ungodly and an abomination so don’t believe that, believe in your love for her, for your future and your right to love someone even if they think it is wrong. You are Josette Lucas Parker, the eldest daughter of Doctor Josette Parker, the sole owner of the Parker Enterprise, we do not let anyone take us down just because we are women.” Her mother said as she stared at her in the eyes.
“You are beautiful, strong and loved by many, specially by me, Lizzie your aunts and uncles and Hope, you are enough for all of us Josie and we would not want anything else” she added as Bonnie nodded her head as well “now that you are sure of your feelings for Hope, let her know that and see if she feels the same about your future together but something in my heart says that she already does” her aunt told her as Josie smiled at her them.
“Thank you, mom and aunt Bonnie, I’m going to tell her that and let her know that I truly do love her and want a future with her and have our own family someday” Josie said as she darted out of the house once again and both women just laughed because they just had to have that conversation with Josie and once she walked out once again Josette just burst out in tears and laughter because this was too soon for her to speak about her love life and sex.
“Well, this was not how I imagined us speaking to her about sex, are you sure that the twins are adults now? Can’t they go back to being tiny innocent children?” Bonnie asked as they continued to laugh.
Hope was surprised to see Josie back so soon and wondered if something happened to her at the house. She had a worried expression on her face and the brunette saw that and assured her that she was fine, and she wanted to talk to her about what’s on her mind. She let the brunette in as they sat back down on her couch as she waited for her to speak.
“I love you, I know I do and I know that I want a future with you” she started to say and Hope just smiled a little at that “I wanted to be your girlfriend because I want to marry you someday and built our own family and that’s why I wanted to offer myself to you tonight, to prove and show my love for you but you did not want that” she said in a quiet voice.
They sat there for a while before Hope said something “I do want that with you Josie, I have never felt this kind of feelings before for anyone and I don’t open to people easily, not even to my own family” Hope said as she looked away. She took a deep breath as she did not know how to express her feelings sometimes and this irritated her.
“I’ve been with other women before, but I never met someone I really want to be with or even have thoughts of getting married too. You make me feel and think differently now, like... I want to be with you all the time and wanting to get married and have a family and for the first time since my parents died... I’m scared to be with you because I’m scared that you will leave me too... everyone I love eventually leaves me” Josie looked at her with teary eyes because this was the first time Hope ever talked about her parents and what scares her most, she did not want her to feel like that.
“Please don’t be scared, I’m not going to leave you... I don’t ever want to leave you... I want to be here... with you... you’re the best thing that I ever have” Josie said as Max barked at them letting the two know that they are not alone. This made Hope and Josie smile since Max is a part of their lives, specially Hope’s, they have been partners for five years, they had each other’s back ever since Hope had rescued him from the desert in Las Vegas but now Josie is a big part of their lives and this made Hope happy.
It had been two weeks since they had the talk about what they were hoping for in the future and what they wanted from each other. Hope had been staying in the main house with Josie since she did not want to be alone, her mother had left after the weekend. Josette had given Hope a list of things that they needed fixing for the party and Enzo would help her with the bigger projects.
Josie had been working in her office that was overseeing the entire front island so she could easily see her girlfriend and what she was doing. There were times when she sat and watched Hope cut some firewood and she would write on her diary and just enjoy their time together.
It was Thursday and on Friday the guests would arrive for the weekend celebration for Bonnie and Enzo. That meant that her family would be there as well so today she was restocking the woodshed and making sure that every cabin was ready and so was the outdoor kitchen. After lunch they would fly out to the mainland and get all the things that Josies mom and aunt had ordered, later around 6 P.M Bonnie and Enzo would arrive, and they all would be preparing for the next day.
Hope was pulling wood stocks from the water up to the bridge and the edge of the island where the water was low, she would cut them in half and then take them to the woodshed so they could dry up faster because the wood boiler was installed inside of it. That was where the heat to the main house and garage would come from.
“Hope, it’s time to go” Josie said as the red head just smiled the three of them took the ATV, this time Max would join them into town. As the three of them arrived the security guard would greet them as well as the all the staff in the market as well, they were all familiar with Max who would run around and say hi to everyone and they would give him a treat.
Hope just chuckled every time because she knew he would take advantage of everyone’s kindness but the staff there did not care because he would always stay there while Hope would leave him there so that she could do her errands because he could not enter the places.
Max would run around the market as he was one of the security guards there, he would always watch the customers who would enter in and out of the place and if there were some pickpockets and thieves who would occasionally be there.
“Will Max be okey?” Josie asked worried and Hope turned around and watched what her dog was doing, she knew by the way he was keeping an eye on one of the customers who was lurking around. Hope called one of the guards and told him that Max was catching a bait and that he and his partner should get ready when he catches him.
And not a minute later Max attacked the thief and dragged him on the ground while snatching his hand in his mouth making him scream as everyone was just staring at the man who was on the ground. The security came and told Max to let go and he did, they thanked him and gave him a treat as the man was complaining that the dog had attacked him but the guard told him that he was lucky because Sargent Max Mikaelson is a war veteran and can detect thieves, robbers and suicide bombers and that he was also a part of the security team of the Parker Station Market.
The staff in the market was praising the dog for catching a bad person and giving him snacks and water while walking back and forth around the market. Josie was stunned to see Max work and was happy that people was taking care of him as he was protecting them, “he be fine love, lets go get our things and then we can get something small to bring home” Hope said as they started to drive away.
It did not take long for the two to get all the pre-ordered things that her mother and aunt had bought so after loading the boxes on the truck they stopped by the pet store to get some food and snacks for Max as well as other items that he would like. Four 50kg dry kibble and six boxes of canned wet food for the little furry friend, it would last him at least five months before they would need to get some new ones.
When they were passing the market, Hope whistled out a tune that Max reacted to and started to bark, getting everyone’s attention and everyone knew that this was his way of saying goodbye for now and they all waved goodbye to him as he started to run towards the parking lot. Later that night Bonnie and Enzo arrived and the four of them started to prep things for the weekend.
Hope knew it was going to be a long weekend considering that Lizzie was coming home with Mg and she only hoped that the blond would not start a fight that is already done talking about.
The weekend had just started, and everyone was flying in from every part of the world, her aunts Freya and Rebeckah and their better half had already arrived as well as Lizzie, Mg and their mother. Once everyone had arrived, they were all busy with just hanging out, cooking and just talking about the good days before they even got kids.
Hope was sitting by the docks with Josie and Max sitting just under the table, they were enjoying this weekend since Hope was off until Monday so that she could enjoy her time with her family as well and she was very thankful for that.
“I love you Hope” Josie said as she gave her a kiss on her lips and the red head just pulled her closer into her arms, the two was swaying along with he waves of the water “I love you too Josie” she whispered in her ear.
Lizzie was watching from the bonfire where everyone else was sitting and enjoying their time, the blond was not angry by the fact that her sister found someone, it was more of the thought that someone would hurt her like Finch did when they were in college. The pain that her sister endured at that time was something she did not want to experience again.
Childhood friends or not she would kill that person who ever hurt her sister again. She had promised her mother that she would behave but after seeing the way the two of them had been acting and how happy her sister was, she would give the red head a chance to prove to herself that she wanted this with her.
“You worry much about your sister” Rebekah said as she took a seat beside the blond who took a deep breath and nodded her head “Hope told me you were not happy that they got together but from what I see, your just worried that your sister is going to get hurt again” and the look Lizzie gave the older blond confirmed her thought “I just don’t want her to get hurt like before” she said in a low voice and the older woman pulled her in for a hug.
“Hope is just like your sister, they prefer to be alone away from everyone, they don’t like people so much either. The only thing that separates them is the fact that your sister is special, and Hope knows that and still she does not treat her any different like everyone else that have met her” she said as they looked at the bridged.
“Hope is hurting too, she just doesn’t show it, speak of it, she just keeps it bottled up. From what your mom told me, Hope tells your sister everything about her feelings, her wants and needs and even her parents. She has never talked about my brother or sister-in-law ever since she was fifteen, not even to her therapist that we had set up for her, three years and never spoke a word until she turned eighteen and left for the military” Rebekah said as Lizzie looked at her with a surprised look.
“They are good for each other, Hope teaches her things she never knew of or even experience before and Josie just make Hope open herself about things that she has been keeping inside. They are good for each other Lizzie, just give her a chance to prove it before you condemned their relationship” the older woman said as she pats her shoulder before leaving her to her thoughts.
Lizzie could easily hear her sister laughed and how the other woman keeps holding her and giving her small kisses. She had not seen her sister this happy for a long time and just looking at them she realized that her mother and aunt Rebekah were right, she just needs to trust her sister to make a good decision.
The next morning Lizzie was up early to do her morning run and she saw Hope entering the woodshed, she walked over to the shed as she saw the shorter woman clean up the ashes from the boiler and cleaning it and then tossing a few bigger logs into the fire.
“Whomever it is that’s sneaking around the shed better show yourself, I have an ax and a knife and I’m good with both of them” she heard Hope say as she curst herself for forgetting that the woman was in the military.
“It’s just me Hope, chill” she said as she walked inside and the two was now alone face to face. They stared at each other before Lizzie said something, “I just want to apologize for what I said before” and Hope just took a deep breath “It’s fine, I understand why you did it. I be doing the same to whomever you be dating” the blond tilted her head with a questioning look.
“Your Josie’s twin, your important to her and she is important to me, so I care for everything she cares and love. If something happens to you, she will not be happy and I don’t want my Josie to be sad, cry or hurt. I would kill that person who would hurt her” Hope said seriously and for the first time Lizzie realized that Hope meant that.
Hope would kill for her sister and would do anything to make her happy and that was enough for her. “Please just don’t hurt her like the other one, she means everything to me Hope and it would kill me if I saw her like that again” Lizzie said with pleading eyes and Hope understood her feelings for her sister.
“I promise Lizzie, I love your sister, I want to see where our relationship will take us and maybe if she wants along the road to get married and have kids, because that’s how I feel about your sister. I want a future with her and be with her for the long run” Hope confessed. The blond twin smiled and nodded her head “thank you Hope” the blond said as she smiled at her and the shorter woman just nodded her head.
After the long weekend everyone left that Monday and it was just Hope, Josie and Max left. Lizzie and Josie had a long talk that weekend, the blond twin confessed to her that she was just looking out for her and that she did not want to see her sister go back to the bad side of a relationship once again because when her sister is hurting then she is hurting because she cant fix things for her to make her feel better just like when they were kids.
Josie understood her sister and why she acted like she did, but she also asked her to trust her because she would never just pick anyone to date because no one understands her like Hope does. The twins hugged things out and they hung out with Mg and Lizzie that weekend, and this made Hope happy because her girl was happy.
“Your off today, can’t we just lay in the couch and watch a movie” Josie asked as she pulled the shorter woman in for a kiss and Hope just chuckled and agreed with her. “We can do anything you want my love” she whispered, Josie had other things in her mind other than watching a movie. She wanted to be a with her girlfriend and show her how much she means to her and this time Hope did not stop her.
