Work Text:
Peter was swinging his feet on top of the roof above their favorite taco place. Well, on the closest roof top next to the taco truck more accurately.
He sighed, the smell of tacos taunting him.
Wade had been gone for a few months and he was getting a little lonely. Peter had friends, but none he could reliably hang out with and not feel guilty for when he inevitably had to ditch. Wade wasn't like that. Wade was always available, never questioned why he suddenly had to leave and often times went with him. And even if he didn't, he was always waiting for Peter with open arms if he had a bad day. Or even if he had a good one. He missed him.
He cracked his back and stood.
His life had a lot less craziness without him, but he started dating Wade in the first place because his special brand of crazy matched his.
"My ears are burning!"
Peter turned, webshooters at the ready in case his ears were actually burning.
"Geez I really scared you that one time. I won't do it again if that's your reaction every time I-- oof!"
Tackling him to the ground, Peter felt as the older man's bones started to crack with how tightly he was hugging.
Gloved hands held the back of his head.
"Hi, baby boy."
"Hi."
"I know I've been gone for a little while, but I don't know if it warrants tackling me to the ground."
"You're the one who didn't stay standing up right."
Peter could tell Wade was smirking even though his head didn't lift up.
"Little shit." Wade struggled to sit up until Peter released his bone crushing grip slightly.
"J Jonah Jameson calls me a menace for a reason."
"Yeah, but he means it like it's a terrible thing, cause that sticks so far up his ass it's shoved into his brain. I mean it in an endearing way."
"You mean it in a 'I want to get in your pants' way." Peter looked up to meet the eyes of Wade's mask.
"Maaaaaaayybe."
Peter laughed and let his grip loosen near completely. Wade hugged him back in earnest.
"Now I know you've been dying to know where I've been."
"Given your tone, I take it you actually died."
"Well that's just a Tuesday. But, yes, I did die. It was for a good cause though!"
Peter rolled his eyes and his head, snuggling more comfortably into his boyfriend.
"And what was this supposed good cause?"
"Hate to disturb your, snug as a bug in a rug, but I want to do something."
Peter groaned loudly and then rolled off of him.
Wade hopped off the ground and popped the collar of an imaginary jacket.
"That usually works better when you're actually wearing a jacket, babe."
Wade looked down at his chest and arms.
"Fucking shit balls! I knew I was forgetting something. Fuck!"
Peter smiled behind the mask.
"Okay, ignoring how cool I would have looked if I had been wearing the fucking jacket like I was supposed to, with the mask on to be clear, we both know I'm fugly as shit under this mask."
"Wade."
Said man held up a hand.
"I was in the multiverse!" He danced a little and then did jazz hands.
Peter raised his eyebrows. "The multiverse?"
"Yeah! I, well, another version of me, was trying to save his world from being culled from the timeline. Some bullshit with people not following protocol or whatever, I don't know. Okay, that's a lie. I do. But the author doesn't want to go through the whole plot because that's not why we're here. Anyway, a lot of us got together to try and stop this other version of me and we all died, but we're all Deadpool so we came back to life. It was fun, but you know when you put that many Deadpool in one place, we're bound to come up with some crazy ideas. So we decided to have a Deadpool convention and, Spidey," Wade kneeled in front of him and grabbed his shoulders, "some of those guys are weird."
Peter put his hands on top of Wade's.
"Wade, you're weird."
Wade threw his hands in the air. "I know! That's how you know the fact that I'm saying it shows how weird they were. You think I have a fucked up backstory, but some of there's? Yeesh. I don't even know that a gun to the head would help them. I mean, one of them was a cowboy, Webs. A cowboy!"
Peter frowned. "What's wrong with cowboys?"
"They're cool as shit, that's what's wrong."
Peter rolled his eyes again and then pulled Wade back to the ground so he could lean on him.
"I think you're pretty cool."
Somehow Wade managed to bat his eyelashes with the mask on.
"You think I'm pretty?"
"Yes."
Wade put a hand around Peter's shoulders. "Well, you have to say that. You're my boyfriend." Wade gasped. "I'm your boyfriend! You're my boyfriend!"
"And you left me for months without telling me where you were going. All because you wanted to be mysterious."
"Hold on, back that pretty little bubble butt of yours up, baby boy. The hell are you talking about?"
"You not telling me where you were going or you being gone for months."
"The second one. I was gone for a few weeks, max."
"No. You were gone for a few months."
"But I, we. No."
Peter shrugged. "You said you dealt with the multiverse, right? Time displacement is a thing. It's entirely possible that time passes faster here then it does over there. You said it yourself, there's a lot of different versions of you all with different backstories."
Wade fell backwards. "I left my boyfriend for months all because I wanted to get back with an old flame."
Peter felt all his hairs stand on end and his heart stop.
"Wade, what did you just say?"
"Yeah, I thought it was weird, but I mean, the chemistry was," he gave a wolf whistle, "who can blame me?"
Peter stood, hands clenched at his sides.
"You cheated on me?"
Wade snapped to sitting up. "What?" Wade scrambled to stand. "No, no. It was another version of me. The Deadpool of that world. Granted I'm loosely based off of him but, not now white, fuck off. Spidey, I didn't cheat on you. I mean, unless you're down for being polyamourus, but you seemed to be a monogamous kind of guy."
Peter glared.
"Not the time. Sorry. But Spidey, Webs, baby boy, I didn't cheat."
"Just some other version of you did that has on old flame?"
"Yes!"
"An old flame that you know?"
"Yes but, Spidey, hold on. Let me explain."
Wade reached out and Peter used the hand to throw him off the roof.
"That's fair!" Is the last words he heard Wade yell before he swung away.
-
"Spidey."
Peter groaned and started walking towards the opposite end of the roof to swing away.
"Baby, if you would just let me explain, or, or, elaborate."
"I'm not in the mood to talk, Wade."
Wade ran to catch up to him before he could swing away.
"You've been avoiding me for days, and look, I get it. But please just--"
Peter threw him off the roof again.
"You're more creative than this, Spidey!"
Before he could get too low, Peter shot out a web and tugged hard enough that the force wrapped Wade up in the webbing.
"You're going to let me talk?"
Peter flicked his wrist just so and Wade started to fall, webbing unrolling.
"Oh you fucker! You're gonna yo-yo me?!"
-
"Alright Wade, don't fuck this up."
"Pretty sure you passed that line already fuck face."
"Piss off white, he just didn't give me time to explain."
"But you aren't trustworthy! You promised you'd stop putting a gun to your head and you haven't. How does that make you worthy? You're not like Betty White."
"No yellow, he technically isn't in the wrong for not trusting me but, ugh!"
"You're such a ditzy bitch. What does Betty White have to do with anything?"
"She's super trustworthy! You're just an asshole."
"Both of you eat shit!"
A little old lady gave him a wary look, shuffling along faster when they made eye contact.
"Great start, Wilson."
He shook his shoulders, pulled his hoodie farther over his face, adjusted his face mask and knocked on the apartment door he was standing in front of.
He heard movement on the other side of the door and held his breath when the door opened.
Watching those doe eyes morph into a glare twisted a knife of guilt in his stomach.
Peter let out a minute sigh and then opened the door wider.
Wade squared his shoulders, ducking his head and entered the door.
Peter slapped the back of his head so hard he fell forward with the action.
"That's for trying to guilt trip me by showing up here like this."
"Told you he would see through your bullshit."
"Fuck off white."
Peter crossed his arms and glared at him.
"Petey, I didn't cheat on you. I'd put a gun to my head, no my mouth, my balls! I'd put a gun to my balls before I cheated on you. And even then that wouldn't be enough. Wait, shit, you'd hate that. I mean, I'd get a well adjusted sleep schedule before I cheated on you."
"You can't get a well adjusted sleep schedule."
"That's how you know I'll never cheat on you!"
"So you don't know the old flame in this universe that the other you was getting entangled with?" It was barely a question.
Wade clenched his teeth hard enough he could feel them starting to crack.
"I do, but I haven't talked to him in years. Peter, trust me. It's on sight with him. Our little tryst was always a bloody fucking mess. And I don't mean that in the British way. I mean that in the, we both had regeneration abilities through the roof so a lot of blood was just more lubricant, kind of way. He was using me to get through bullshit and I was using him because I was lonely. We made each other worse."
"So does on sight mean killing or fucking here?"
Wade had to bite his lip to stop himself from smiling. "I'm glad you know me so well, but I mean killing."
"You can prove that?"
"What?"
"Can you prove that you haven't been talking to him?"
Wade furrowed his non existent brows.
"Oo! We haven't had a reunion in so long!"
"Yeah, cause the old fuck hates our guts."
"Most people hate us."
"You're not going to take me at my word, are you?"
"Have you stopped blowing your brains out when you've had a rough day."
Wade sighed.
"Who is it anyway."
"Logaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa--"
"You can't be serious. You had ONE job."
"No! We should knock him out, that way he'll forget this conversation."
"Temporary amnesia isn't in the tags idiot."
"An. Logan." Wade slapped himself in the face.
"Logan who?"
"Howellt. Fucking shit." Wade let himself fall to the floor in a heap.
He heard Peter crouch in front of him. "Okay, so I want to meet this Logan guy. Where does he live?"
Wade fixed his head so he wasn't laying face down. "You can't be serious."
"He is. Look at him. That's his serious face. You're in deep shit."
"He looks so cute! Is kidnapping still illegal?"
"I am."
"He doesn't live close. It's a long drive. You'll be leaving New York unprotected for an entire day."
"That's fine."
"We'll have to go by taxi."
Peter pouted. "Fine."
Wade sat up. "You're seriously serious about this."
"I want to take you at your word. . ."
"But you're anxiety ridden spider brain won't let you rest until you can fact check. I figured."
"At least it's not Cable."
"I hate that guy."
"This is going to be interesting."
-
"Okay Deadpool, I'm going to get coffee."
"Okay!"
"Do you want anything?"
Wade pulled Peter back towards the car.
"Isn't he the sweetest, Petey pie?"
"Which is why it's concerning he knows you so well."
Wade leaned a good portion of his weight on him, pretending to swoon. "You always say the sweetest things. That'll be a no for me though, Dopinder."
"Mr Parker?"
"Thank you Dopinder, I'm alright."
"Caffeine makes him crazy." Wade whispered conspiratorially.
"No crazier than you, Deadpool." The taxi drove off, honking twice as it left.
"Where are we?" Peter turned to face the wide sprawling area and the giant metal gate in front of them.
"God, you really don't know anything huh? I guess that's fair given canonically you don't interact with them."
"That looks like a mansion."
Wade started skipping towards the gates. "Close! It's a school."
"We're trespassing on a school?!" Peter rushed to grab Wade by the shoulders. "What the hell?!"
"It's fine. I know the principal. Actually, a fair amount of people here know me." Wade kicked the gate and it swung open.
"Wade, what are you getting us into?"
"Aw, you said us instead of just you. You don't want me to do anything illegal."
"Not the time, Wade."
Wade wiggled his eyebrows through the mask. "It's always the time if you're freaky enough."
Peter glared, stomping down the blush on his cheeks.
"But seriously we'll be--"
"You've got five seconds to get off this property before I skewer you through the chest, Deadpool!"
Wade turned to face the sound of the gruff voice and Peter stood on his tip toes to look over his shoulder.
"Wolvie! Just as gruff and foreboding as ever! Is that a new black tank top or the same one you've been wearing for the past 30 years?"
The man growled. Actually and audibly growled.
"Did he just," Peter whispered in disbelief, "growl."
"It's how he communicates!" Wade responded cheerfully. "Growls and grunts. Honestly him using his words is a surprise."
"5 seconds is up Deadpool."
The man jumped from the balcony he was on and landed a few feet away from them.
"Superhero landing for wittle old me? I'm flattered wolvie, but I've moved on."
"I'll slice your jaw off."
The man growled again, this time directly in Wade's face.
Wade pouted. "That would mess up my mask. And unlike you, I don't got a billionaire, wait, is he a billionaire? How the fuck does he get all his money? Nevermind, point is, these suits are expensive and I don't need it to be unnecessarily replaced."
The man scoffed. "As if you care."
Peter frowned.
"Okay Wolvie, here's the deal, I'm here for one thing and then we'll be out of your oddly spikey and graying hair."
"I don't give two shits, Wilson."
"Ooh! Last name bas--" Wade looked down at the claws that has been stabbed into his abdomen. "Is. Wow. I always forget how sharp these are." Wade poked the opposite end of the claws where they were sticking out of him.
Peter felt his stomach clench at the sight.
"Say another thing, Wilson. I dare you." The man growled for a third time.
Wade turned his head to him. "Petey, meet Wolvie. Otherwise known as the Wolverine, though people here just call him Logan. I personally call him fuck face, but we're close like that."
Logan twisted his claws in Wade's abdomen but spared a glance at him.
Peter clenched his jaw.
"Please remove your claws from my boyfriend." He barely managed to get the words out through his clenched teeth.
Logan raised an eyebrow. "The hell did you just say, kid?"
"He's not a kid, actually. Though his baby face is adorable."
The claws turned more, Peter stepped forward.
"Please," he started again, tone clipped, "remove your claws from my boyfriend."
"Look kid,"
"I'm 30 years old."
"And I'm one hundred and thirty. Which is how I know, this fucker," Logan pulled his claws out only to stab Wade higher, "is not your boyfriend. He's not capable of it."
"Well that's awfully rude. Times have changed Wolvie, people can date whoever they want now."
"Wade."
"Shutting up pumpkin!"
Logan gave a single chuckle. "Now that's a neat trick. But seriously, you don't want to be with him. Whatever he's offered you won't make up for the bullshit he'll put you through. He's a psychopathic mass murderer that gets off on killing people and turns every situation into an innuendo. He's doesn't care about anyone enough to 'love' them and if he does? It's an act to get the thing he really wants. Love and Wade fucking Wilson don't belong in the same sentence except for: I'd love to kill you, Wilson. And if he's paying you?" Logan turned back to Wade. "Then he's even more of a pathetic sociopathic loser than I remember. There's no way someone half as good looking as you would ever be with someone as fucking ugly and mentally gone as him otherwise."
Peter was vibrating with anger. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the white's of Wade's mask widen.
"Peter." He whispered so softly, so gently. There was so much wrapped up in that one word.
Peter did not want to be gentle right now.
"I said," shooting out a web outside of Logan's sight, he tugged Wade off of the mutant's claws so he was standing next to him, "remove your claws."
Logan scoffed, retracting his claws. "Neat trick, how'd you--"
With a force usually only reserved for punching debris and cars, he punched Logan in the face.
The man slid back 3 feet, bloodied nose already healing.
Peter glared. "Don't insult my boyfriend again."
Peter could see the fangs when he growled. He'd seen worse.
He turned to face Wade and put his hands on his shoulder.
"I should have listened to you."
Wade looked down at him, then up, then down, then up, then down, then up again.
"Now might not be the time for self reflection, baby boy."
"But I need to apologize for my frankly," he leaned his head to the side and shifted Wade's stance so that he fell sideways and out of the path of the punch, "terrible behavior."
"Fuck that's hot. And while I'd love a heart to heart Petey, I don't think your new friend there is going to allow it."
Peter knocked Wade off his feet and caught him by his belt, ducking from another punch simultaneously.
"Why?"
"You punched him in the face."
Peter frowned. "He insulted you. A lot. You put up with that from your brain enough."
Wade smiled.
Peter threw him to the side as he dodged a sweeping kick.
"He's using you." Logan hissed. "Open your eyes. He's only with you because you're at a low," he punched again, Peter dodged, "it's what he does. He makes things worse," punch, "people worse," punch, "lives worse," punch, "you're just the current domino in a long line of his fuck ups. The fact he's got you defending him proves that to me." Punch.
Peter dodged each punch with ease and grace, punching the older hero for a second time. Square in the nose. Just like the first, but with a little more force.
Logan grunted, fangs showing off again. His claws sprung out before he retracted them forcefully.
"Okay bub, you want a fight? You've got one."
"I don't want a fight. Just stop insulting my boyfriend."
Logan lunged at him.
Peter did a back flip to dodge.
"I'm not fighting you. I'm not in the mood and I don't have my suit."
Logan turned on his heel for a wide punch, barely giving Peter enough time to fall to the floor to dodge it.
"Shoulda thought about that before you swung at me!"
Rolling away from a stomp that would have landed on his chest, he sprung up and started taking measured steps back.
"Honey bunches,"
"Absolutely not!" Peter called back instinctively.
"Sugar plum,"
"No!"
"Googly bear,"
"I will tape your mouth shut when he get home!" He turned his head for a second, but that was all Logan needed to graze his cheek.
He jumped back farther than he likely needed to, but he always preferred long distance fighting.
"He's got you beat in stamina!"
He didn't risk glancing at the ex mercenary this time.
He already knew that. "I don't have my suit."
Logan took a few steps back of his own accord.
Peter braced for the running start he could clearly see.
Taking off like a bullet, Logan ran faster than Peter expected and then launched into the air.
Spidey sense driving his actions, he leaped frog the older man to end up behind him.
Wade let out a wolf whistle.
Peter would have appreciated it more if his heart wasn't pounding from pulling off such a crazy move.
"Look, okay! You clearly want a fight."
Peter had to dodge another round of punches.
"But I don't live anywhere near here. I have to get in a taxi to go home."
Another sweeping kick.
"I'm not ending up on the news because I was bloodied and bruised from a fight like this."
An attempt at a headbutt.
"If you just give me a change of clothes I'll fight you for real. This is a school, right? Don't you have some kind of lost and found bin you can take from?"
He caught this punch. And then the one from the man's other hand. He knew he was pushing his luck.
Logan had claws and all Peter had was fleshy hands that were easily sliced through.
Logan growled for what Peter thought was the 5th time and then pulled away his hands. He stormed off to the general vicinity of the mansion and only then did Peter spare a glance at Wade.
Wade watched Logan's retreating form as well before looking back to Peter and shrugging.
Peter didn't move and neither did Wade, somewhat uncharacteristically and Logan returned.
The glare on his face was deep seated and fangs were barely hidden. He had no clothes in his hands.
Peter didn't comment on it.
-
Wade was drawing in the dirt when the sound of new boots drew his attention. He fixed his stance to watch Cyclops get closer to the scene in front of him.
"I'm here, I'm here. You made this seem all urgent, what do you need clothes for? Get hit by a new mutant's powers or something?" Scott handed the clothes to Logan who promptly threw them at Peter.
"Clothes." He said gruffly once Peter caught them.
Wade caught the same clothes that were now thrown at him making sure his eyes never left Logan and Peter.
"Thank you, I appreciate it."
He could see the frown on Scott's face despite being several feet away.
"Wait, hold on. I feel like I missed something big here. Who's the kid."
Peter threw his hands up in the air. "I'm 30 years old! Almost 31!"
"It's the baby face!" Wade called back cheerfully.
He watched as Scott turned to the sound of his voice and have a full body groan.
"And what is Deadpool doing here?"
"None of this concerns you Scott. Either move, or I'll make you." Logan barely spared the other man a glance.
"Uh, yeah, no. This absolutely concerns me. I'm not going to let you fight some random guy. You could kill him!"
Logan turned his glare on Scott.
"He'll be fine. And he's asking for it. He punched me in the nose. Twice."
Scott sighed, head falling forward as he did.
"Okay, fine. You're slightly justified." Scott lifted his head to look at Peter. "Look man,"
"Peter."
Scott blinked. Or so Wade assumed.
"Look, Peter. This isn't going to end well for you. Just apologize for punching Logan and we can chalk this up to a big misunderstanding."
Peter pouted and Wade very desperately wanted to run over and scoop his boyfriend into a hug. But he was good and kept his feet rooted to the floor where Peter had thrown him.
"There was no misunderstanding. Logan was it? Yeah, he insulted my boyfriend twice, so I punched him in the nose twice."
Wade giggled at the feeling of butterflies in his stomach.
"Who the heck is your boyfriend?"
Peter pointed to Wade.
"Yoo-hoo! Hi Scott!"
Even without visible eyes, Wade could see Scott's disbelief.
Scott dragged a hand down his face. "Okay, I'm starting to get the picture here, but this still isn't a fight you want to have."
"No, I completely agree with you."
"You're not backing out!"
Both men looked to Logan and Wade could see the set of Peter's jaw that said he was getting annoyed.
"I'm not backing out. This isn't going to be settled without a fight. I can see that."
Logan popped his shoulders and got lower to the ground.
"Glad we're on the same page, bub."
"Logan. You're not fighting him."
"Um, Scott, right? Your friend--"
"Colleague." Logan interrupted.
"Colleague doesn't look like he's going to be settled until he at least breaks my nose. He gave me a change of clothes so that I don't have to go back in the taxi a bloodied mess and now I'm keeping my promise to fight him."
"Peter, I'm going to make this abundantly clear. We're mutant's."
Wade coughed in his hand to try and hide his laugh, but when Peter looked over to him, he couldn't help it.
He fell to his knees laughing. "Peter! Peter, they're mutants!"
Peter rolled his eyes but Wade could see he was having trouble not smiling himself.
"You have to be careful because they're mutants, Petey!" He fell to the floor laughing, rolling on the ground as he did.
"No shit, Sherlock. What have you away, the guy with the claws or you with the visor that belongs back in the 90's?"
Wade laughed harder.
"It's not that funny, Wade."
He could hear the fondness in his boyfriend's voice and had to slap himself in the face to stop laughing.
"I'll take that into consideration, Scott. I'm still going to fight, Logan."
"Now he's consented to the ass kicking he's about to get. Happy?"
"No! But I know a lost cause when I see one." Scott made his way to where Wade was standing. "I'll be standing on the sidelines. If this gets out of hand I will intervene, Logan."
Logan grunted and darted towards Peter.
"I have a feeling this is your fault."
Wade pulled himself to his feet and dusted the dirt off his suit.
"That's incredibly rude of you Scotty boy. I'm only here because my Petey needed to see something for himself."
"Don't call me that. And do you honestly expect me to believe he's dating someone like you?"
Wade put a hand on his shoulder. "Believe me, I know he can do way better than this fugly mug. But he's into it for some reason."
Scott shrugged him off. "Then why are you here."
"That's for NC-17 reasons and you folks haven't gotten past PG-13."
"I'm not in the mood to deal with your crap, Deadpool."
"I prefer bullshit, but not everyone can be as eloquent as me."
"I'm not going to cuss where children are."
"Than you are naive as you are lame. Cuss words are the least offensive things those kids will come across. If you can't trust me on anything else, you can trust me on this. But at least people get creative with me. It's easy given the regurgitated raw meat look I've got going on."
"I remember why Logan hates you now."
"He hates me because he couldn't handle this ass, but he did always hate how mouthy I was."
"I will pay you to stop talking."
"Normally I'd accept but I have a boyfriend now. And don't you have a girlfriend/wife?"
"Leave Jean out of this."
"Touchy touchy."
Wade watched Peter do another backflip and clapped when he struck the landing.
"You know I see why they call you the Wolverine!" Peter called from where he was. "You're territorial, crazy and mean!"
"You talk too much." Logan lunged at Peter again.
Scott looked away.
"Aren't you scared?"
"Of Wolvie? Nah. He's more of a one trick pony once you get to know him."
"For your boyfriend dumbass."
"And here I didn't think you were capable of even the most mildest of cuss words Scott. You have my respect."
"He does?"
"No. But he doesn't need to know that."
"I'm ignoring that. You didn't answer my question."
Wade watched Scott squirm out of the corner of his eye.
"I'm not worried. No."
"You know first hand how strong Logan is."
"And you're underestimating my Petey pie."
"Is he even a mutant?"
"Buttercup?"
"Little busy, Wade!"
"I know, I know. But Scotty boy asked me a good question. Are you a mutant?"
Peter grunted, dodging to the side before Logan could land a hit. "What do you think?!"
"That's gonna be a maybe."
"Maybe?"
Wade shrugged. "You know origin stories."
Scott didn't answer.
"I mean, am I a mutant? Sure, you could consider me one, but I'm not. My mutant powers were dragged out of me by those cunts at weapon x, before that I was just a guy with radiation as his powers."
"What?"
"Stage 4 cancer. Radiat-- ah nevermind. Jokes lame now."
"I thought it was funny!"
"He was trying too hard."
"And now you're just okay with watching your boyfriend get beat by one of the best X-Men on the planet?"
"There is a far roster above Wolvie, but I recognize the author's bias here and will thus just answer your question. Though, if you were paying attention, you'd see Peter wasn't trying to win. He was trying to incapacitate."
"What?" Scott turned his full attention back to the fight, only to be surprised to see Logan trapped in a cocoon of webs.
The man thrashed and growled, but he couldn't get out.
"I win, right?" Peter looked to Scott.
Scott didn't answer.
"Oh, wait. I have to knock him out first, don't I?" Peter walked over to Logan, pulled his arm back and punched.
The man wobbled and then fell to the floor.
"Now I win." Peter walked over to him and Wade couldn't help but bounce on his toes.
"My knight in shining cotton."
Peter snorted and then picked him up.
"Weee!!!"
"You knocked him out?"
Peter shrugged and Wade felt his stomach roll with the action.
"Knock out is a strong word. I stunned him for a few minutes. He'll come to before we're even fully gone."
"How?"
"I made his brain hit the back of his skull. It's basic science."
Peter started walking and Wade swung his feet.
-
Peter let Wade in first when they arrived back at his apartment.
"God, baby boy. I have been hot under the collar since we got in that taxi. I forgot how hot it is to watch you fight when you're not in actual danger."
Peter smiled briefly and then frowned. He closed his door and leaned against it.
"Wade, I'm really sorry. My behavior was completely inappropriate and I should have let you explain days ago."
"I don't really blame you. I'm not a believable guy."
"You are!" Peter surged forward to cup Wade's face. "I do trust you Wade. I trust you with my life, my identity, my aunt, my house. I trust you."
Wade leaned into the touch. "I know, Peter. We're both a little fucked in the head. It's what makes us such a good couple."
"Still, can I make it up to you? Maybe with a kiss?"
The whites of Wade's mask got comically wide and Peter chuckled.
"I was going to make you watch an entire season of Gilmore girls with me, but a kiss will absolutely suffice."
"We can do that too."
"You spoil me rotten."
Peter pulled up the red mask and kissed him.
"Other way around, babe."
Wade wrapped his arms around Peter and not so subtly groped his butt.
"No, I'm definitely right. The fact I get this pretty little ass all to myself definitely makes me spoiled."
Peter laughed and kissed him again.
"Welcome home, Wade."
"It's good to be back, Peter."
