Chapter Text
[Location: Middle Borough High School, New Jersey. JEREMY holds the chocolate Shakespeare in his pocket, nervously eyeing CHRISTINE from across the auditorium. A note in his other hand. As he walks to CHRISTINE, the other students’ heads all twist unnaturally toward him in a break-neck fashion, but he doesn't notice. He continues to walk over.]
[JEREMY'S THEME plays in the background]
JEREMY: Uhm- Hey, Christine?
CHRISTINE: (turns around, unimpressed, annoyed) What do you want?
JEREMY: Oh, I umm.. (he shakily pulls out note and chocolate) I got these. For you.
CHRISTINE: You got me a?? What is this, a love letter? (she reads it over in disgust) Oh my god, have you been stalking me?!
[The other students eyes are now fully locked onto Jeremy. Their pupils glow an unnatural blue, the silhouettes suffocating him.]
JEREMY: No! I've just, I've wanted to talk to you for so long and-
CHRISTINE: Oh my god you totally are!! Get away from me you freak!!
[CHRISTINE pushes JEREMY as the eyes begin to laugh]
STUDENT 1: Ugh, what a loser.
[The room begins to spin. Camera zooms in on JEREMY. He hyperventilates and then wakes up in his room. He gets up in distress and grabs a letter from his nightstand, tears it up, and flushes it. He returns to sleep, frustrated.]
[BE MORE CHILL the movie]
[The camera pans away from him]

SCENE 0.5 - Opening Credits
[Camera pans back down to JEREMY’s bed, its covers now disorderly and bunched up. The sun is almost up, the room is a cool blue and we see JEREMY at his desk, leg bouncing, computer loading. He taps the space bar, agitated. Camera is positioned so we can see his eyes above the screen, his face illuminated. He eyes the clock. 6:59. His eyes bounce back to the screen. Back to the clock. The screen. The clock. The screen. The-]
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
JEREMY: Ugh!
[7:00. The clock displays “Good Morning! Time to Start the Day!” sliding across the little pixelated screen as we see JEREMY get up and angrily turn it off. He walks back over to the desk and pushes a tissue box and bottle of lotion in a drawer before slamming it shut, walking to his closet.]
[As the credits introduce everyone, we see a glimpse into all the student’s rooms and morning routines.]
[CHRISTINE CANIGULA’s room is covered in musical posters and play bills she has collected. We see her dramatically performing a ballad we cannot hear as she gets ready.]
[CHLOE VALENTINE is at her vanity perfecting her makeup. She pops her lips and smiles. Her room is glamorous but not overly so, they are teenagers after all.]
[BROOKE LOHST is brushing her hair on her bed. Her wall has a line with polaroids of her with CHLOE on them and her room is illuminated in a soft pink light.]
[JENNA ROLAN is somehow picking out jewelry, painting her nails, and on the phone at the same time! How does she do it?]
[JAKE DILLINGER’s room is littered with trophies, medals, pictures of him at all ages participating in various sports, clubs, contests. If you can win it, he’s done it. His room is much bigger than those of the other students. He flashes himself a smile in the mirror, finger guns and all.]
[RICHARD GORANSKI is rifling through laundry, seemingly analyzing which shirt will get him the right amount of attention without getting too much attention drawn to him. His room has posters of all the hottest celebrities of various levels of nudity and some sketches and paintings.]
[MICHAEL MELL puts on his glasses, his iconic hoodie, and his headphones in a superhero-suit-up montage style before grabbing his backpack and car keys on the way out. His shelves are lined with comics, action figures, and retro memorabilia. WEEZER CD is very visible. Very uncool.]
[And JEREMY HEERE is haphazardly putting on jeans and a blue cardigan over his classic striped shirt. He shimmies his arms and legs, trying to relax, and grabs his backpack on his way out the door.]
[We see JEREMY walking through some shrubbery on a back path on the way to school. He holds back behind a final bush, watching RICH loudly walk into school. Once he’s out of sight, JEREMY straightens up and heads to the doors. He pushes them both open and we enter into first day of junior year chaos.]
