Chapter Text
Promises to keep
I own none of this, general rule of thumb is that if you recognize it; most likely not mine. Still, if you are still not sure, just ask. I will not lie to you.
Pre-Lord of the Rings
Orc/Human
Two friends who have never seen each other grow up with a promise to one day dance together.
*hif, hif, hif* "Sea Lily, yer bleeding again." Rhazkar's voice took a growly undertone. Ever since Selilu turned ten, she said that Hamron has taken to pinching her in halls and in lines at the mess hall, sometimes he scratches his Sea Lily with a pointed quill. Once or twice a week, Rhaz smells the sweet and savory scent of Selilu's blood, and every time he does is another stroke to the powerless rage storming inside him. Sweet Selilu, his beloved Sea Lily, she knows how he feels and has taken to cleaning her cuts before they meet in their special space; but some cuts are too deep to clot in time.
"Sorry Rhaz, but this time it is my fault." Selilu's voice was always pleasant to hear, even when they younger and words didn't always come out the way they wanted them too, but today her voice had an extra something in her tone that reminded him of bubbles. "I was clumsy and hurt myself, but I finished making your hook!" The sound of her attaching the object to the pulley reached his piked ears and he eagerly awaited her gift.
It was imperfect, it was dented in some parts, the eye of the hook was very large, and Rhazkar knew he would keep it the rest of his life.
