Summary
Beth Greene was gone. Just as quickly, so was Dawn. Two bodies on the floor. Red blood pooling and staining the shiny white floors. Except Beth wasn’t a body. Not yet. A bullet entered skull, and exited it too, but her brain was missed. Gloriously, miraculously missed. The doctor said it hit her suborbital margin, the part of the skull where her eyebrow rested. Grazed her parietal lobe, the part of her brain that controls her senses, her spatial awareness. When she wakes up, if she wakes up, she’d have a long road to walk before she was fully healed. If such a thing was possible. Daryl said it would be. Not that Beth could hear him.

Beth gets exceptionally lucky, and walks away from Grady Memorial with nothing more than an eye patch to show for it. She’s determined to live, now. Not just get by with Daryl or Rick or Maggie’s help. She wants to be someone who keeps herself alive. Half blind and Brain damaged, she’ll have to recover first. Luckily, Daryl Dixons there to help her out. She has no idea where they stand, but she knows he won’t leave her side. -
