Noah was not expecting to end up in a second season of Total Drama. He’d just been trying to get a million dollar case. That’s what he signed up for. Not another season of torture. Sadly he is contractually obligated to be in the second season of Total Drama, along with fifteen others including Courtney, who had just managed to get in.
The first challenge was based on a monster movie. Naturally Noah was easily caught by the giant animatronic monster. It wasn’t like he’d been trying that hard anyway. They were actually all saved by Owen anyway. Owen continued to be amazing help by finding the key they needed to win the second part of the challenge allowing them to pick the trailer they’d be sleeping in. Not that it mattered as Chef made the monster flatten the second one as well. So they were both in the same condition after they’d been fixed anyway.
Challenge two was based on alien movies. Which Noah was unconcerned about. He’s a pretty small person. He can actually fit in a medium sized vent. Which of course leads to the boiler room. Eventually anyway. He actually was able to see some of the stuff going on out in the main area. Izzy fighting off chef, Owen being easily hunted down and most interestingly Duncan abandoning Courtney.
Basically he and Courtney had been on the way to the boiler room along with Trent and Gwen when Chef had caught up. Gwen and Trent had run ahead, knocking over Courtney in the process. Duncan was faced with a decision, run back to try and save Courtney, and almost certainly get himself caught in the process, or run. Naturally Duncan chose the latter.
Noah dropped down into the boiler room right as Gwen was finishing getting everyone an egg. Sadly for him, Chef arrived almost immediately afterwards and he got slimed before he could even think about getting an egg.
Once everyone was together Chris revealed the winners of the challenge would be the team captains much to the chagrin of Gwen and Trent. They also got immunity for the double elimination that night.
As soon as the host left Courtney turned to Duncan. “How could you abandon me back there?!”
“It was either one of us or both of us and I chose to cut my losses. “ Duncan huffed.
“You’re my boyfriend! You’re supposed to stick with me!” The Type A said.
“Oh Hoh, really princess? I seem to recall you not sticking with me when we were after that million dollar case. In fact I remember you running off with it by yourself.” the punk retorted.
“That was different! That was about a million dollars! This was one stupid challenge!” Courtney protested.
“Yeah? Well I think it's a double standard! So as long as I’m cutting my losses I might as well keep going. I’m breaking up with you.” Duncan said.
“You’re what?! You can’t dump me! I was gonna dump you!” The Type A complained.
“Well you can’t dump me because I already dumped you!” The punk said.
“Whatever!” Courtney huffed storming off.
“And don’t let the door hit you on the way out, it might push that stick further up your butt!” Duncan scoffed.
Noah had to admit, he’d really enjoyed watching that. Just as he got to enjoy finally getting a representation of immunity that night. Geoff and Bridgette had really annoyed everyone with their constant making out.
The wounds from Duncan and Courtney’s break up became apparent quickly in the next challenge. Gwen and Trent had to choose who they wanted on their teams, and in the one of the most tone deaf things Noah had seen Gwen chose Duncan as her first member. Naturally Courtney was not happy about that, especially when Trent chose her as his first teammate in retaliation.
From there the two chose their teams, with Noah being the last one chosen, ending up on Gwen’s team. Which was good because apparently today’s challenge was to get everything up the prop cliff. Noah couldn’t even pick most of the stuff up, let alone carry it uphill. So it was for the best that he’d ended up on a team with both Duncan and DJ.
In the end they made it to the top of the hill first. So they had a bit of a head start. Duncan was chosen as their actor and he was definitely acting like one. Heather didn’t help things by telling him to ‘stand there and look pretty’
“I’m not pretty.” Duncan snarled.
“That’s an understatement.” Noah scoffed.
The punk turned to him. “You got something to say smart***!”
“Only that you’re the least pretty actor in the history of actors. Like you could easily pass as a monster.” Noah smirked.
To Noah’s surprise Duncan took it well. “Yeah. That’s right. I’m a ruthless monster.” He turned to Heather. “And don’t you forget it.”
Noah wasn’t sure how he’d inadvertently solved that problem but he wouldn’t complain. Gwen was grateful as well. “I was going to say something stupid. Thanks for taking the hit.” She told him.
Duncan turned out to be a good actor and they won. Honestly Noah shouldn’t be surprised. Duncan was delinquent, so acting was probably a good skill to have. Especially when you were being questioned about a crime you yourself had committed.
The next challenge was based on some old beach movies and they all ended up freezing to death in one of the studios. They were in their swimsuits and the AC was cranked to the max. Of course this was hardly the biggest problem.
Trent seemed to have a monkey on his back. And by that Noah means Courtney. Courtney didn’t seem to think Trent was a very good leader and kept insisting that she would be better. Between that and Gwen and Duncan’s friendship he was getting a little stressed. Like enough that a tick seemed to have developed. Trent kept counting to nine.
The challenge itself was riding on a fake surfboard. It was close, but thanks to Duncan’s jeers at Courtney she bailed allowing Duncan to win it for them. After that they all got back in their clothes despite Chris telling him not to. So of course this time they went to an actual beach. The one at camp Wawanakwa actually.
The next challenge was a sandcastle building contest. Noah didn’t actually end up taking part in it. Harold had it handled, and he noticed Duncan sneaking off with Gwen. So he joined them.
“Why are you following us nerd?” Duncan scoffed.
“Because I’m lazy and Harold annoys me?” Noah replied.
The punk smirked. “Yeah? I guess Harold’s so annoying even other nerds are annoyed.”
“Oh you have no idea.” Noah said.
It turned out Duncan and Gwen had decided to mess with the bus so that they could stay the night here instead of inside one of those cramped trailers. While he worked Noah kept talking. “Like at least you and Gwen aren’t nerds. So Harold’s not trying to make friends with you. With me though? He spent so much time at the Playa trying to befriend me. I got so many lectures about stuff no one cares about! Like why does Harold think I care about whether or not beavers are vermin? Or how large a human bladder can get? Or why the sky looks blue to our eyes?”
“Sounds awful.” Gwen told him.
“Man, if that were me Harold would get so wrecked.” Duncan said. “Of course, I don’t need a reason to pick on Harold.”
“Anyway, it doesn’t matter how many, I hate you leave me alone, vibes I send. It’s like they go over his head.” Noah sighed.
Eventually Duncan finished and the three of them made their way back to the beach where they saw Trent was sitting away from the Grips sandcastle. “Uh, shouldn’t you be helping your team?” Gwen asked.
“I would but Courtney forced me to step aside. Apparently the castle won’t look good if we make nine of everything.” The guitarist said.
“What’s with the nine thing?” Noah asked.
“My grandfather gave be a train that I loved. A little after he died one of the wheels fell off. So nine became my lucky number. It’s a tick I have when I get stressed.” Trent explained.
“So, you’re acting like this because of stress?” Gwen asked.
“Yeah.” Trent sighed.
Harold had finished their sand castle and it would definitely have won if the seagulls didn’t make it collapse. Now they had to have a tiebreaker. They gathered wood, and eventually it was dusk. There was going to be a dance off. Naturally, Courtney insisted she do the dancing for the Grips. Honestly though, anyone would have been able to beat Leshawna.
The next day they had a challenge was swelteringly hot. Like to the point Noah thought he might get heatstroke. None of this was helped at all by the fact that today was western movie day and their first challenge was to jump off a platform and land on a horse. Noah’s team ended up losing thanks to DJ getting electrocuted, and both Heather and Leshawna ending up stuck on a weathervane instead of landing on the horse.
After Owen ruined any chance they had of a shoot out by drinking all of the water in the pistols they were going to use, Chris decided the final challenge would be for the Grips to dress as cowboys and the Gaffers as cows. By which Chris meant wearing an udder shaped hat on their head. If the Grips could wrangle the Gaffers they won.
Naturally Noah was captured almost immediately, and things didn’t go well from there. Trent caught Gwen. Courtney easily caught Duncan and Harold. Which meant it was pretty easy for Courtney, and Trent to both catch Leshawna.
Chris threatened to brand one of them but thankfully the lawyers said no. Noah didn’t think any of them would look good with a giant letter L on them anyway.
That evening they eliminated Heather obviously. It’s not like anyone wanted her there.
The next day they found they were all locked in the trailer and all had to work together to get out. As the lightest Noah ended up the top of the stack trying to reach the skylight, Unfortunately, they were all startled when Chris opened the door causing them all to land in a heap. Noah in particular ended up under Duncan. He swallowed, unsure of the strong feeling inside him. Some kind of adrenaline.
Thankfully it was over soon enough and Noah could focus on the challenge. Today’s theme: Prison movie. The first part was simple. They had to choose a member of the other team to lock up and then they would be making the most disgusting ‘food’ they could manage and serving it to their ‘prisoner’. They chose Lindsay, and the Grips chose DJ. As squeamish as DJ was, Lindsay was even more squeamish so they won, gaining a shovel in the process.
After that they had to make their way through an obstacle course. Naturally they chose DJ to push the laundry cart the rest of their would be riding in. Owen was chosen for the Grips, mostly because of his weight.
Both parties made it to the other end of the course easily enough and then they had to dig under the wall. Their shovel gave them more than enough of an advantage so the Grips lost. That night Noah realized Trent was gone.
“Let me guess. Courtney convinced you to vote out Trent because he’s been stressed out all the time and his girlfriend is on the other team.” Duncan asked Justin.
“Yeah. I mean it’s not like we need him to lead when we have her.” The model smirked.
In the middle of the night they were all interrupted by an ambulance dropping off a gurney. Chris revealed it was the beginning of the next challenge. The theme was Medical Movie. Part one of the challenge was to prep by reading the textbooks provided and eating pizza.
Harold wanted to do his best. While Gwen insisted she would study because she didn’t want to let anyone else down. Noah could tell she blamed herself for Trent’s elimination. Out of solidarity Leshawna also stayed to study.
Noah and Duncan both returned to their trailer. “What? You’re not gonna study?” Duncan teased.
“Nah. I’ve already read a lot of medical textbooks. Trust me. Anything in there I know.” Noah yawned. “Besides I do not want Harold to try and compare notes with me.”
“Yeah, that sounds like him.” Duncan smirked.
The next day, only he and Duncan were well rested. Challenge part two was to build a FrankenChris by bungee jumping into a vat of electric eels to grab body parts. They would only be allowed to do that part if they answered questions correctly.
Noah very quickly figured out that the books Chris had given them were clearly not real. Absolute nonsense came out of everyone’s mouth. Seriously? Pinkcus eyeacus? Waka waka two by four? Put two feathers up the whizzbang? Ugh.
It was neck and neck when someone noticed a sore on one of Owen’s arms instantly everyone was panicking about having a disease that would kill them all. The only ones unaffected were Duncan and him.
“Okay there is no way the textbooks were real. That was nonsense. Not to mention it’s awfully convenient that everyone just happened to catch a rare and deadly disease.” Noah said.
“Yeah this is wack. Something ain’t right.” Duncan said.
“Come on, we gotta investigate.” Noah told him. Together they managed to pull up the gurney to the open entrance at the top of the room.
“I’ll check the textbooks, you check the pizza.” Duncan told him.
They spilt and Noah easily found what was causing some of the symptoms. A can of laxatives made to look like parmesan. He returned to the others with Duncan and they explained what had happened. It was such a rush. He and Duncan turned out to be a pretty good team.
It was the next challenge that changed everything. It was a horror movie challenge. Part one was a set of three challenges where the chosen slasher for their team would try to scare the others. Duncan was the obvious choice but thanks to Chef DJ was chosen instead. Luckily Harold was easily scared, though Leshawna just laughed. Which left the tiebreaker to Duncan and himself.
Noah was sitting on the couch awkwardly as he read the script Chris gave them. “There is no way.”
“I have to kiss him?!” Duncan scoffed.
They wouldn’t have gone through with it were it not for Chris reminding them a million bucks was at stake. So Duncan kissed him, and to Noah’s utter shock, he enjoyed it. It was supposed to be a quick little peck, but it actually went on for a couple of seconds before Duncan pulled himself away.
“Ugh. That was, That was awful.” The punk said unconvincingly.
“Tell me about it.” Noah said.
Chef scared the crap out of them winning the first challenge for their team. Part two was to scare the Grips out of the mess hall. Noah didn’t really pay all that much attention to it. He was too absorbed thinking about the kiss. It felt good. Right and natural in a way Noah would never have imagined before. Kissing always sounded so vulgar and yet it hadn’t felt so.
Surprisingly they ended up winning thanks to DJ. Too bad the brickhouse got himself eliminated later that night.
Noah had a lot to think about so he went to the confessional. Duncan was there too. “Oh uh, you can go first.”
“No its fine really.” Noah replied.
Silence for a bit and then Duncan sighed. “So earlier? The whole kiss thing? It uh? It was stupid right?”
“Totally stupid.” Noah agreed.
“Yeah, I mean like, it's not like it meant anything. It was nothing.” The punk continued.
“Absolutely.” He said.
Silence again. “I mean how stupid would it be if you actually enjoyed something like that?” Duncan laughed.
“Yeah.” Noah nodded.
Silence for a third time broken by the two of them both saying. “Unless of course you enjoyed it?”
Nothing more was said. It was clear from the look in each other’s eyes that they had both enjoyed it. Duncan leaned forward and they kissed again. This time longer.
“By the way. This doesn’t mean we’re a thing. Like not during the game. You saw how close Gwen and Trent came to losing it.” Duncan said.
“Yeah.” The cynic smiled. “But this.” He leaned forward and pecked Duncan on the lips. “We could do this some more. You know, when we’re alone.”
“Sounds good to me.” Duncan replied, leaning in for another kiss.
From a distance a certain goth watched with a smile. “Don’t worry guys. Secret’s safe with me.”
