Summary
In the midst of their intergalactic travels, SG-1 discovers a mysterious new world with a society eerily similar to ancient Earth civilizations. Upon landing, they encounter Aang, the last Airbender, and his consort, Zuko, the former fire lord, now ruling the four nations in peace. The team is astonished to find that the two have formed a powerful and loving relationship, bridging the gap between their people. However, when the SGC questions their ability to maintain peace without the influence of more "advanced" technologies, Aang and Zuko take offense, feeling patronized by the Earthlings' assumptions.As tensions rise, a rogue group of fire nation loyalists, resentful of Zuko's reforms and his union with Aang, begin to stir up unrest. SG-1 is torn between respecting the newfound couple's sovereignty and intervening to prevent a potential war. Meanwhile, Jack O'Neill, intrigued by the benders' abilities, suggests a cultural exchange program to help integrate their world with the Stargate Command.
