Work Text:

Florian busied himself glancing around his new environment. Of all the places he expected his sister to end up spending most of her time nowadays, he did not expect it to be out in the middle of nowhere. He continued his trudge following the main road, entering a small village. Inside, he was flagged down and stopped by a sweet, petite old lady behind a large goods stand connected to a more modern looking building. A sign above it read: “Peachy’s.” He cocked an eyebrow, approaching cautiously to see what she wanted.

“Why, hello dearie!” she greeted chipperly. “I don’t think I’ve seen your face around here before. What’s your name?”

“Florian,” he replied roughly.

She eyed him slowly. “My, my, Florian… You look awfully tense,” she remarked.

He didn’t say anything.

“I don’t suppose you’ve had much to eat, have you?” the old lady questioned. “You’re quite pale…”

“I’m not hungry,” he growled.

“Oh, don’t be like that!” she objected. “Please, I insist…” She reached below the counter, pulling out a small ceramic plate stacked with what looked like little purple mochi. “Have some, Florian. On the house.”

Florian squinted, a snarl forming on his face. He pondered her request for a moment. Then he shrugged. “Fine,” he hissed, “if it’ll get you to back off, I guess one couldn’t hurt.”

He carefully took a mochi from the plate, biting into it. Immediately, his palette was overrun with sweetness. His eyes lit up. “Wow, this is… actually really good.” He wolfed down the rest of it without hesitation.

Purple smoke swirled around him as he swallowed his last bite.

“What the?” he rasped.

His mind started to grow fuzzy. Before long, he was out.

A pink Pokémon floated behind the old woman. “A perfect opportunity…” it grinned through her.
