Kieran watched absently as the snowflakes fell into gargantuan piles and sheets outside. Ogerpon rested soundly on his lap, soaking up the warmth of his body heat, his blanket, and the lit fireplace nearby.
“Hey, Kiki,” Juliana whispered, leaning down and extending a cup of hot chocolate, “got a delivery for ya.”
Kieran sighed contentedly, a tiny smile forming as he gingerly took it. “Thanks, Jules, you’re the best.”
“Anytime,” Juliana smiled, kissing his forehead and plopping down next to him.
For a moment, things didn’t seem so blue anymore — not with his wife and little girl by his side.
