Steve and Robin always hold up the scrunkliest animals saying "look, it's you."
One day Robin holds up a puppy and says "hey look, it's Eddie".
Steve takes the puppy, it starts gnawing on Steve's nose. Steve hugs it to his chest and walks away nuzzling it.
Of course Steve adopts him the next day.
When Eddie eventually visits, he whispers to Robin "hey, do you think that dog kinda looks like me?"
The dog- usually a bundle of energy and hard for Steve to get to sit still for more than 5 minutes during the daylight hours- stumbles into Eddie's lap and falls asleep during Eddie's afternoon visit.
Steve nervously asked if Eddie wanted to name him. Eddie, wide-eyed, held the sleepy puppy up to his face and whispered "Samwise".
The puppy yawned with a loud whine, then licked Eddie's nose.
(Steve cannot explain why his stomach and heart did those things when that happened.)
