Summary
“Everything is a clue, Officer.” Caitlyn gestures for Maddie to sit in the squashy chair across from her desk, but does not take a seat herself, only stands adjacent to her, crossing her arms and leaning her hip against the desk. She says, “Tell me what you saw.”
Maddie sits in the chair, suddenly becoming aware of the fact that she’s, technically, speaking to her boss, and a wave of anxiety causes her cheeks to flush with warmth. Hesitantly, she asks, “Would you like me to… read out my field notes?”
