This is a world where everyone has their other half, their soulmate.
It happens simply, at some point in your life, any time, from your childhood to your adult life, your soul will connect with another.
There is no set pattern, it is random but at some point you will feel another person's emotions, some bonds are more intense than others but in the end they are all soulmates. Regardless of whether one bond is felt more than another or not, everyone's soulmate will always be the most important person in their lives. Losing a soulmate is torturous, a void that can never be filled by anything or anyone. Many give up after losing their other half and some others persist in pain, but they persist.
Some stronger bonds can feel each other's physical pain and even know their thoughts but everyone feels emotions and can determine the direction their soulmate is headed.
And of course, there is a rare case of having more than one soulmate. In these cases you can do everything that someone with just one soulmate can do, but you will know how to differentiate which half of you each emotion comes from or which side each one is on.
