Work Text:

Alhaitham laid in his bed, unable to sleep, as he tossed and turned every other minute. He was used to cuddling Kaveh at night, but the senior was busy rotting away through the night on another project for a client, who probably wouldn’t appreciate his handiwork anyways. He tried everything from cuddling his blanket to even holding Kaveh’s pillow. Nothing felt the same as the warmth as he held his boyfriend close and nuzzling his face into his neck.

Alhaitham sat up and began to rub his hands on his face to try and rid himself of the drowsiness, ‘Kaveh.. I need Kaveh.’ He thought to himself.

He threw the blanket off himself as he dangled his feet off the bed. The cold of the night pricked his body, and he quickly felt himself yearning for the warmth of his bed. He got up and walked towards the door, as he headed towards the study that he and Kaveh shared.

Once he approached the study, he silently opened the door. He rested his body on the doorframe. As suspected, the blonde architect was once again working himself to death on a project into the dead of night.

Kaveh felt as if the night was the only time he can be by himself, the only time he can truly think. The night, calm and soothing, allowed his creativity to spill out. He didn’t need to worry about the frustrations and bustle of the day to distract him from his hard and restless work. He continued to scribble and scribble until everything was perfect in his eyes.

“Kaveh…?” Alhaitham softly spoke out, exhaustion to be heard in his voice.

Kaveh jumped in his seat, not expecting Alhaitham to come disturb his work. Usually, Alhaitham is asleep by now.

“Ah! Hey! Don’t scare me like that!” Kaveh whined as he snapped back towards Alhaitham. His brows furrowed from agitation and a face as he had just seen a ghost.

The scribe walked towards the blonde architect with silent footsteps. He had a habit of walking on the front of his feet, which often caused him to unintentionally startle Kaveh.

As Alhaitham approached Kaveh, his expression changed to one of concern as he noticed Kaveh’s unkempt hair and exhausted eyes with dark purple eyebags.

He rests his hand on the back of Kaveh’s chair, “Please, come to bed.” He spoke out softly.

The moonlight seeped through the glass stained window in front of the desk that Kaveh had previously been slouching at. The soft moonlight illuminated Alhaitham’s face and upper torso. Kaveh looked up at the younger man, basking in the scribe’s beauty. He thought it was impossible for Alhaitham to get more beautiful than he already was.

He soon realized he was spacing out and quickly broke himself out of his trance, “In a bit, I’m almost done. I promise I’ll go to bed soon. Just let me finish up these last final touches.” He bargained as his eyes darted back to the paper and pencil.

Alhaitham sighed, as he much expected this response out of Kaveh. His expression saddened, because he did not enjoy seeing the love of his life work himself to death over clients who cannot appreciate true aesthetics and beauty. He was never someone who cared for such things as aesthetics and art himself, but he understood how much it meant to Kaveh. He was always there to ground and support the architect after a rough day of being devalued and hurt by his clients.

Alhaitham slowly put his hand up towards Kaveh’s face, cusping his cheek. He pulled Kaveh’s face back towards him.

The architect looked into his eyes with a surprised expression and a slight red blush to his face, even though this is nothing new to him. He quickly noticed the sad expression on the scribe’s face, which quickly caused his expression of surprise to one of guilt, as he knew he was worrying his lover.

“Now. Please? You look miserable, and really tired. It’s really late.” Alhaitham pleaded to Kaveh, gently stroking the blonde’s blushing cheek with his thumb.

Kaveh felt his heart melt with the gentle and caring touches on his cheek. He placed his own hand onto the scribe’s, intertwining their fingers. Alhaitham’s hands were warm and soft, which warmed up Kaveh’s icy cold face and hand in return.

Kaveh frowned at Alhaitham, “You don’t understand, I need to finish this tonight! The client is expecting this first thing in the morning!” he whined as the volume of his voice increased.

Kaveh was quick to remove his hand from Alhaitham’s and to turn back to his desk. He picked up his drawing pencil and quickly went back to work.

“Please, let me work.” The blonde spoke out, a tinge of sadness in his words.

Though, Alhaitham understood why Kaveh is acting the way he is, he couldn’t help but feel hurt and a bit insulted. He didn’t like how quick Kaveh was to push away his concern.

The scribe placed his hand over the architect’s hand once again, but this time to wrangle the pencil out of Kaveh’s hand. Kaveh tried to protest by tightening his grip on the pencil, but his strength was weakened by the sheer exhaustion he was feeling in the moment. He was no contest for the scribe.

After fighting the pencil out of Kaveh’s hand, he placed it down on the desk. Afterwards, Alhaitham then grabbed hold of the backing of the chair. This time to turn Kaveh’s entire body to face him. This advance causes Kaveh’s face to turn one of shock once again.

He continued to rest his arm on the back of the chair, as he stared deeply into Kaveh’s dull and sleep deprived crimson eyes. His expression softened as he gazed onto the beauty of the blonde architect. Even as untidy and unkempt as he is now, he still managed to have beauty as blinding akin to the blazing Sun in the sky.

He titled his head sideways, “Now, will you come to bed?” He croaked, voice laced with exhaustion once again.

Kaveh’s eyes shifted away to get away from Alhaitham’s deep gaze.

He said nothing. His eyes focused on the ground and he began to frown slightly.

Alhaitham continued to gaze upon him as he sighed softly. He sat on his knees and wrapped his arms around the other man, embracing him in a tight hug. Kaveh jolted ever so slightly. He hadn’t expect Alhaitham to embrace him so suddenly like this. He rested his hands on the back of the younger man’s head, as he ran his cold and slim fingers through his soft and fluffy silver hair.

‘His body is so cold.’ Alhaitham thought to himself.

“It’ll be okay. You don’t need to keep working, as you are clearly exhausted and worn down. Don’t hurt yourself over clients who cannot see and understand your true value. Come to bed.” He spoke softly and gently to his senior, once again trying to convince him to go to bed.

Kaveh blushed at the words given to him by the younger man, which caused him to sit and ponder.

After a while, he spoke out, “Okay, fine. I’ll stop working for tonight. Archons, I hope the client won’t be mad!” with the last sentence being a whisper.

“They won’t.” Alhaitham quickly objected as he began to stand up, using the sides of the chair to help himself up.

Sadness quickly set in Kaveh’s mind, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you and make you upset.” Kaveh choked.

Kaveh frowned deeply as his eyes darted back up to meet the scribe’s eyes. Kaveh’s eyes glistened in the moonlight as if he wanted to cry.

“It’s okay, don’t worry.” Alhaitham reassured with gentleness and sincerity in his voice. He smiled softly at the blonde man as a way to let him know everything will be alright.

He grabbed the waist of Kaveh, helping him up. Kaveh’s legs wobbled, due to him being stuck at his desk for hours. He grabbed onto Alhaitham as if he was the only thing that could support him without him tumbling onto the ground.

As soon as Kaveh stood up, Alhaitham began to unclasp the clips on the back of Kaveh’s head, sat them onto the desk, and then proceeded to undo the braid in Kaveh’s hair. Afterwards, he began to run his hands through Kaveh’s golden and silken hair, attempting to tidy it. For several minutes, he kept running his fingers through his blonde hair, almost as if he was enamored by how beautiful and soft it was. It was like running his fingers through the finest silk. He felt his heart pound out of his chest.

“Kaveh…” Alhaitham whispered as he leaned in towards the blonde man, as he still had the other’s blonde hair tangled in his fingers. He swirled the blonde hair around his index finger

“H-Huh?” Kaveh whispered back, voice beginning to shake and stutter as Alhaitham leaned in closer.

Alhaitham kissed Kaveh softly on his cheek, “ You are so beautiful, and worth so much.” the scribe whispered softly in his ear, kissing him there as well.

“…Now where is this coming from..?” Kaveh looked shocked, as if this was something unexpected.

“Shh… Take the compliment, my dear.” Alhaitham smiled as he placed a finger up to Kaveh’s mouth.

Kaveh blushed a deep red. “Ugh! Y-You..! You’re a real piece of work sometimes, you know that?!” He bickered, clearly flustered.

“Oh, trust me, I know.” Alhaitham teased as he grabbed hold of the blonde’s waist and brought him closer.

“Now what are y– Mfgh?!” Kaveh began to frantically speak, only to be quickly cut off by the scribe passionately kissing him on the lips.

As they kissed, Alhaitham cusped Kaveh’s face with his hands, as he once again gently graces his cheeks with his thumbs. Alhaitham began to slowly pull away, only for the other man to grab hold of the back of his head, which he brought them into a deep and passionate kiss once again. Soft moans escaped both men’s mouths as they began to slowly and softly make out with each other.

Alhaitham wrapped his arms tightly around Kaveh’s waist as they made out and pulled him as close as he could. He didn’t, and never wanted this moment to end. Making out with Kaveh was the equivalent of tasting the sweetest candy. Kaveh’s kisses were as sweet as honey, to the point where it’s almost intoxicating and addicting. He couldn’t get over how soft Kaveh’s lips were when pressed against his own. It drove him insane, only making him want to deepen the kiss even further.

He pulled back for a second to lock eyes with Kaveh. “Mmh.. Kaveh, your kisses… are so sweet. I can’t… get enough of you.” He panted between words before quickly going back to making out with the blonde.

Kaveh gave a quick look of acknowledgement at Alhaitham before fully closing his eyes. He loved how passionate of a kisser Alhaitham was. He always thought it was so beautiful when Alhaitham was desperate for Kaveh’s kisses, doing anything in his ability to douse himself in Kaveh’s love. Kaveh felt like he was in Heaven, surely he wouldn’t be selfish if he wanted more of this slice of Heaven? Alhaitham was his angel after all. His hands shook before gaining his confidence to place his hands on Alhaitham’s chest, slowly pushing him to the wall by the entrance of the study. Being pressed against the wall caused Alhaitham to moan softly.

They kept going at it for a few more minutes, shifting their hand positions on each other’s bodies before they finally began to pull away from each other. Kaveh gave Alhaitham a quick and gentle nibble on his lower lip. He moved his hands from the back of Alhaitham’s head to hold his lover’s face. They looked at each other lovingly as they both panted to catch their breath.

“Oh, my darling, I love you.” Kaveh smiled widely as he swooned.

Alhaitham smiled and let out a giggle, “And I love you in ways that words cannot begin to describe.”

“Oh you’re so cheesy!” Kaveh teased as he grabbed Alhaitham’s hand, intertwining their fingers.

As Alhaitham squeezed Kaveh’s hand tightly, the younger man began to lead the blonde man out of the study and into the bedroom. Kaveh followed eagerly.

As they entered the bedroom, Alhaitham immediately went to lay down in the bed, looking and feeling satisfied. He pulled the blanket over his body, and waited for Kaveh to put his nighttime clothes on.

He watched as Kaveh began to undress himself, but quickly averted his gaze, as if looking at Kaveh’s bare body was sinful and forbidden.

After Kaveh dressed himself in his nighttime clothes, he lifted up the blanket to crawl into bed with his boyfriend.

“Wha– Hey! Scoot over!” Kaveh pouted.

Alhaitham chuckled at Kaveh’s whining. Secretly, he found it adorable. Though, he never would admit that to Kaveh’s face. He scooted over so that Kaveh could find his place in the bed.

As soon as Kaveh laid down, Alhaitham grabbed hold of him and held him close to his own body, so close that it would be impossible to pry them apart even with the greatest amount of force.

Alhaitham looked at Kaveh’s lips again and placed another soft kiss on them. He let out a soft sigh as he kissed Kaveh’s tender lips.

“You’re so needy” Kaveh playfully teased as they pulled apart from the gentle kiss.

Alhaitham simply just smiled at Kaveh’s playful remark and gazed at him lovingly. It was almost as if his eyes were sparkling staring at Kaveh.

“Pretty…” Alhaitham tiredly whispered softly as he began to push Kaveh’s hair out of his face and behind his ear.

“You’re so pretty.” Alhaitham stated as he kissed Kaveh on the forehead this time.

Kaveh softly smiled back at his lover, he placed a hand on the back of the other man’s head to push it towards the area where his neck meets his shoulder. He knew how much Alhaitham loved that.

Alhaitham nuzzled into Kaveh’s neck. He was content and ready to drift off to sleep. Before dozing off, he planted another kiss, but on Kaveh’s neck this time.

“Good… night. I love you… my dear.” Alhaitham mumbled into Kaveh’s neck, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Kaveh began to run his fingers through the other’s fluffy hair, “Goodnight. I love you too, my sweetheart.” He spoke softly, planting a kiss on top of Alhaitham’s head. Shortly after, he proceeded to close his eyes and fall asleep himself.
