Chapter Text
Alban’s heart is pounding in his chest, and he’s hyper aware of how loud he’s breathing right now. He stood in front of the glorious Amanozako Manor. He’s caught wind from a certain someone that there’s a powerful gem hidden in the manor that held healing capabilities. It was in the possession of the current owner of the manor, Young Lady Twisty. The manor was also short on guards at the moment due to the current owner’s imprudent behaviour, or so he’s heard. The skilled Phantom thief has taken down two so far, the only few people that he’s actually seen around here. It was the dead of night, of course he wouldn’t be expecting to see most of anyone, but this is the least guarded establishment he’s broken into so far. Guess this one’s gonna be a breeze, huh?
The stained glass of a window shattered easily upon the impact of Alban shoving his knife towards it. Avoiding the shards, the hooded figure is roaming the halls with practiced stealth. Nobody seemed to be awake now, to his pleasure. Soundless feet pad across the manor, heading straight for the bunker. What he was looking for, should be a crystal-clear diamond, imbued with the cleansing and medicating abilities by the servant of the Amanozako family, Elder Charmwood. It was a gift, a blessing to the Amanozako family, but they don’t really need it, do they? His heart jitters a little when the door to the supposed bunker pushes open easily. How underguarded was this place? After a giant planned out heist at Kaneshiro's residency, this was practically like taking candy from a baby. Quite literally as he’s heard from some people, the Young Lady’s personality could be compared to that of fussy baby’s which gave him more of a reason to steal this precious jewel.
In the bunker, there was a mess of things messily thrown in there. Jeez, were the people living here really even of nobility? Old furniture, boxes and wooden planks stacked up high. Alban was only slightly freaked out when he swears in his mind that he just saw a ghost pass him by. He’s forced to push his way further into the bunker, hopping over planks and the mess strewn around while also looking out for traps. This entire thing could be just a ruse up until now. The mess would slow down his escape, but everything slips out of his mind when heterochromatic eyes spot the diamond he’s been looking for. Finally! Alban pads over to the gem, cracking open the glass and grabbing it as the glass casing shatters. Now, all he had to do was get the hell out of here before all of his work turns out to be in vain.
Rushing out of the bunker and shutting the door behind him, Alban had successfully completed his mission. All that was left was to get back to his base with the treasure. The moment a sigh slips out of his lips, heterochromatic eyes meet bright yellow ones that peered at him through a window. What the fuck?! Since when has a person been there? He’s quick on his feet, running down the halls in a desperate haste to lose this person. Fuck, fuck, fuck! There’s no way he could lose now after everything was going to his pleasure! He doesn’t even care that he’s causing a bit of a ruckus at this point, heading to the nearest window and smashing it open for a quick escape. The brunette’s boots meet the solid ground, taking in a sharp breath as he’s trying to regulate his breathing. When was the last time he’d been this nervous on a mission?
Taking only a quick glance around him, Alban’s sure that whoever had spotted him earlier wasn’t on his tail anymore. His chest is heaving, making his way quick through the thick forest. He’s got limited time, before whoever that was decides that he was easy prey. The brunette’s a little winded by this point, tucking the gem into his cloak and having his knife in his hand instead, just so he wouldn’t have to drop the gem to fight. He’s cautious, treading through the forest until he makes it out to the front of the manor. Great, now he just has to go through the process of navigating his way back. It always was a little troublesome to be a Phantom Thief and have a terrible sense of direction.
There’s a bit of a tingling feeling in his heart, head spinning all too quickly all of a sudden. He’s trying to shake it off, looking around frantically. What was happening to him, is it exhaustion? There was barely any time for Alban to take everything in, when there was a cloth pressed to his mouth from someone behind him. He wants to scream, to act out and push the person away but he’s feeling too weak. There was definitely something in that cloth that was making him like this and it was just the brunette’s luck that he had no way out of this stupid situation. Fuck! It was probably one of the manor’s guards, wasn’t it? They’d been watching him this whole time and just as he’s about to get away, they got him before he could even escape.
The gem was granting him a bit of a fight, feeling its healing energy restore his force slowly. He’s strong enough to push the person away but he couldn’t seem to balance himself enough, falling to the ground as a result. The man who was standing behind him dropped the cloth to the ground, walking towards Alban with long strides. He has blue hair, and those sharp yellow eyes that he met with earlier. It’s the same person, huh? Alban’s hood had long slid off his head, revealing his chestnut-brown hair. He’s desperately shuffling backwards until a strong hand grabs at his collar, stopping him from going any further.
“Give up, don't you put up a fight" The voice speaks out to him, but it feels like a distant dream at this point. Alban wasn’t even sure if he’s just dreaming all of his or not. Please, god let him wake up. The man lifts him up with ease, holding him over his shoulder like a bag of rice. He’s worn out by now, not even bothering to struggle anymore. He’ll surely be able to deal with this when he’s fully conscious again. Alban just hopes that this man wants nothing more than a couple of bucks to line his pockets and he’ll be freed from this psycho’s grasp. "Dream on, dream on, good night."
