Work Text:
Worn out from a whole lot of grocery shopping, you finally decide to head home. You can't wait to kick your shoes off and just relax with your husband.
You and Alhaitham had gotten married around two weeks ago. You had moved in with him long before. You feel like your whole life has been put together and nothing can be better than this.
You both are employed at the same company, you’re basically inseparable.
–
“I’m home, love.” You reached. You had reached your abode which you had grown to call home. You said those three words as you entered. The three words your husband was dying to hear for the last hour or so. He wasn’t able to show it, but he loved you so dearly. He made it so that he would sometimes push one of the cups of his earpieces out of the way just to hear your voice.
He sat on an armchair situated in the living room. Your apartment was big enough to host 2 people exactly. It was cozy. What made it cozier was the presence of your husband at home.
“Welcome home.” He flashed a rare, small smile at you as you walked into the living room.
You place your grocery bags on the kitchen island and immediately go towards the man on the armchair. He was reading. You noticed his earpiece pushed up. That subtle action made you truly feel loved by him. He beckons you to come closer to him. As you do, he gently pulls you onto his lap. Closeness is something he is still learning and getting used to. Having you sit on his lap was a subtle way of letting you know that he is trying. You don’t mind. You could feel his love with the way he held you. He held you tenderly. One hand around your waist, and the other around your upper body, around your arm. You sit comfortably sideways with your legs draped over his.
“Are you tired? Do rest. I won’t budge, don’t worry.” He reassured you as he softly kissed your temple. He’s not one for physical affection. He doesn’t let his guard down for anyone. But for you, for the sake of his spouse, he wants to try. Though small advances, to you it is more than enough.
“Just a little. So if you don’t mind, I’ll make myself a resident here for a while.” This kiss made you blush. A soft, fluorescent hue dusting your cheeks. The sight was like gold to him.
“Go ahead, I don’t mind. Don’t get used to being too comfortable though. I can’t promise interruptions during other times. You’re only spared this evening because of your fatigue.” He chuckled. You despised that chuckle. It was mischievous. You couldn’t tell what he was up to. This was one of the things you adored about him. He was stoic, but also silly. “I’ll keep that in mind.’ You chuckle.
He placed his book down on the coffee table situated in front of the armchair. He then took his glasses off, folded the temples shut and placed them neatly on top of the book. His attention is now on you, and you only. He loves you as you do back. Your closeness described by the rings wrapped around your respective ring fingers. The world suddenly went quiet. Nothing made any noise except his breathing and yours. You then pressed a soft kiss onto his eyelid, transferring some of your love onto him. As the quiet lulls you into a mild nap, he adjusts his hold on you so nothing disturbs your slumber. He values your comfort over anything else. He then gently rubbed your back, moving his hand in small up and down motions.
“Rest well my dear.” he said as your world fell silent.
