"No one even knows you're here, Gojo," Sukuna's lips curled into a sadistic grin, "Which means we get to take our time with you."
The pale man to his side slid his dreary eyes over to the dark haired boy tied to the chair next to the white haired man's chair. His eyes suddenly lit with interest as he too grinned.
"I think we should start with his little shadow." Mahito muttered, the scars on his face stretching as he grinned at the teen.
Megumi cursed internally and fidgeted against his bonds, eyes shooting over to his friend.
Yuji was stood against the wall not far from him, his eyes wide as his gaze shot back and forth between his brother and the dark haired boy.
"Megumi, I swear - I didn't know they would do this when I mentioned your name- I didn't even know that you know Go-"
The pink haired boy jolted, his mouth snapping shut when the older man who looked so similar to him slammed his fist against a nearby crate.
"Shut up, brat!" Sukuna snarled, eyes cutting over to glare at the teen.
Megumi knew Yuji was partially to blame for their earlier ambush.
He had known about the pinked haired boy's ties to Sukuna, the head of a rival to the Gojo Clan. It had been the entire reason he'd befriended the other boy at school to begin with. Gojo had simply wanted to see if Yuji let any valuable intel slip, nothing beyond that.
Megumi had known Yuji didn't know he worked for the Gojo Clan. Which was why he'd thought befriending the boy wouldn't cause any issues.
Clearly that had been wrong.
He and Gojo had been snatched off the street over an hour ago by Sukuna and the unfamilar pale man whose name they now knew was Mahito.
The other bodyguards with them had been put down instantly, but Megumi was spared. Likely as leverage against Gojo since he was young.
"I agree, I think Gojo will talk quickly if we start with his apprentice," Sukuna grumbled, pulling a switchblade from his pocket and beginning to advance on the dark haired boy.
He was stopped in his tracks though when a sudden gunshot rang out from outside the warehouse they were in, breaking through the silent night.
The pink haired man froze, all of the men in his employ throughout the room stiffening as their hands went to their weapons.
A moment of silence graced them before the sounds of fighting erupted through the thin walls - rapid gunshots, cut off cries, and pounding footsteps. A few of the men rushed out the doors to see what the commotion was about and to join the fray.
"Ah, see..." Gojo's head was hung down to his chest, expression hidden, "That's the thing..."
His shoulders shook and Megumi did a double take as he realized his boss was snickering to himself.
"What's going on out there?!" Sukuna demanded over a walkie talkie, his red eyes flashing with frustration when the only response over the device was a tinny cry of pain followed by rapid gun fire that quickly cut off in eerie silence.
There were only seconds of peace before more shouting and shots rang out.
The muscled man whipped around, stalking over to Gojo. He grabbed the other mob boss by the hair, wrenching his head up only to find the man was grinning gleefully. His blue eyes were hidden by the blindfold they'd put on him as soon as they had snatched him and his new ward off the street, but the delight on his face was obvious.
"You took my phone so that no one would track me..." He explained, slow and careful even as the chaos outside the room continued to echo, "But you didn't account for anything else."
"Like what?" Sukuna snarled, his face twisting as his patience grew thin.
In response, the white haired man didn't answer - instead he simply jerked his chin up and stretched his neck. The swinging light overhead caught a glint of silver along his neck that the pink haired man immediately snatched.
He pulled a loose silver chain from the other man's shirt which held a gunmetal grey tungsten ring at the end.
The man snarled and dropped the necklace, "What's this bullshit?"
"My wedding ring," Gojo tilted his head as he answered with an air of calm that Megumi achingly desired to have in a situation like this, "Well, my wedding ring that has a tracker in it."
That gave the men pause, the pink haired man stiffening slightly before he glanced over his shoulder to Mahito. The pale man grimaced as he shrugged.
"So what?" Sukuna sniffed dismissively, "Your sobbing trophy wife must've called in back up to rescue you? Too bad your men won't make it past our men combined."
Megumi fidgeted against the restraints binding his wrists once again, dark eyes shooting over to Yuji. The pink haired boy looked just as distraught as when they had ripped off Megumi's blindfold upon arriving to the warehouse nearly an hour ago.
He desperately wished his boss would do something about their situation - despite their being outnumbered.
Instead Gojo chuckled, but there was dark edge there this time.
The commotion seemed to die down outside, tapering off in a few scattered gun shots before being replaced by an uneasy silence.
There was still no chatter over the radio clutched in the pink haired man's grasp, but he scoffed as he tossed it aside.
"See?" Sukuna cocked his hip, "No match."
No sooner had he spoken that the lackey to his right was propelled backward by an invisible force, so hard that his feet left the ground as he fell flat. Silence so thick that it was palpable blanketed the small group of them as Sukuna turned slowly to eye the fallen man.
A still smoking single bullet wound, straight between the unfortunate man's eyes, had the hair on the back Megumi's neck standing up.
"Sniper!" Mahito shouted shrilly, “Cover!”
Gojo let his head fall back as he cackled at their scattering.
Megumi had only worked for the man for a short number of months, but he had never seen such a ruthless grin on the other man's face. In fact, since he had started working for the man he couldn't really understand why the head of the Gojo Clan was the most feared mob boss in the entire city.
He'd thought the man was a bit of a joke really - too goofy and chipper to be intimidating in any way.
But this...
This was downright chilling.
The white haired man cocked his head to the side, somehow knowing how to look in Sukuna's direction despite the blindfold still in place.
His canines flashed as he grinned, "Looks like my 'trophy wife' found me."
Another silent shot sent two more of Sukuna's men tumbling to the ground as they tried to get away. Sukuna himself snarled from behind his cover, glaring at the white haired man who laughed manically as a few of the other footmen nearby shouted in panic and shot blindly into the dark.
But they couldn't tell where the assault was coming from and they were dropping like flies.
"We need to retreat!" Mahito called over the commotion, gesturing for Sukuna to follow him and pointing toward the large humvee parked in front of the bay door. The pink haired man nodded in agreement despite shooting one last glare to Gojo.
When Yuji moved to follow, he was pushed back so roughly that his back smashed against the stacked crates they'd been crouched behind.
"Sorry, brat," Sukuna raised an eyebrow at him, "I need you to hold off that sniper while we get away."
"But-!" Yuji's eyes were wide, expression panicked as he looked back to find the still dwindling number of henchmen.
"That's how this works, kid." Sukuna gave an uncaring shrug before he darted off to follow Mahito to their escape vehicle.
No sooner had they scrambled inside were they taking off, tires screeching as they revved toward the bay door. A handful of shots ricocheted off the bulletproof sides of the vehicle before it smashed through the door and faded into the night.
Sukuna's remaining men scattered, also trying to escape at their boss' abandonment. A few managed to escape while another few were dropped by the still cloaked sniper.
Once again an eerie silence blanketed them for a moment as they waited with bated breath.
Then, with a crash so loud it seemed to rattle the walls, the door nearest to them was kicked open with enough force that it ricocheted off the wall.
A single figure emerged - a man who was tall and lean built like Gojo sauntered in. His long black hair was pulled away from his face in a high ponytail that swayed as he walked, violet eyes scanning over them.
Clutched comfortably in his grasp was one of the largest rifles Megumi had ever seen - and one that stole his breath when it was calmly raised and pointed to Yuji’s chest.
The pink haired boy raised his hands in surrender instantly, sputtering for a plea.
"Ah - not that one, love!" The dark haired man paused at Gojo's call, violet eyes cutting over to the tied man, "I like that one - that's Yuji!"
Dark lashes fluttered against sharp cheek bones and suddenly the killer's hardened expression softened. His almond eyes crinkled as he tilted his head, strands of his dark hair falling into his face as he swept the large sniper rifle behind his back in one smooth motion.
"So you're the Yuji-kun I've heard so much about," His calculating eyes slid over the pink haired boy's shoulder to Megumi's unsettled expression, "Which makes you Megumi."
"Indeed it does," Gojo confirmed, wriggling against his bonds so hard that his chair scraped against the floor.
In a few strides the dark haired man was by his side, one hand catching the white haired man's shoulder and squeezing reassuringly before he moved to free him.
"Oh, angel," The dark haired man purred as he tugged at the restraints around the white haired man's wrists, soothing his thumb over the red marks left against the pale skin.
Deft fingers quickly moved on to the blind fold, though the other man was in no such rush. He only took a second to rub at his sore wrists before his hands rose to leisurely brush over the hips of the sniper standing in front of him.
His palms framed the hips of the man as the blind fold was also tugged loose revealing stunning blue eyes that blinked in the new lighting.
Gojo scooted forward on his seat, head angled up as his eyes finished adjusting, "I knew you'd rescue us - say, did you break your personal solo record out there? It sure sounded like you did."
He was silenced by a single finger against his lips as the dark haired man tsked down at him.
"Angel," His silken tone took on an edge as violet eyes flashed, "What did I tell you the last time I rescued you from a kidnapping?"
Gojo deflated into an instant sheepish pout, blue eyes staring imploringly up at the other man through his lashes.
He smiled somewhat apologetically, "That you're retired so I'm supposed to be calling Nanamin and Haibara about this sort of thing?"
"Exactly," The dark haired man pulled away slightly, "At least this time I wasn't in the middle of another parent-teacher conference."
"I'm sorry, baby," The white haired man's voice was low and soothing as he squeezed his large hands around the other's hips, "It's just that no one gets the job done like you."
Violet eyes crinkled as the dark haired man pursed his lips, clearly trying to resist the urge to smile triumphantly under the praise. Instead he rolled his eyes before he bent at the waist, letting himself be pulled down into a slow, sensual kiss.
"Am I... having some sort of weird dream?" Yuji finally piped up from beside Megumi, startling the dark haired boy from his stunned observations.
He turned to find a look of disbelief on the other teen's face that must have mirrored his own as he shrugged, "Am I?"
The white haired man released him from the kiss, moving to stand and stretching his arms and hands out. The two stayed mere millimeters away from each other as violet eyes inspected the Clan Head closely for any visible injuries.
Gojo reached out without hesitation to swipe a streak of blood from the other man's cheek, quickly smearing it against his own rumpled white shirt instead. He paused, white brows furrowing as he leaned close.
He reached up again and brushed his fingers against the collar of the dark haired man's shirt, "What's this?"
"Flour," One elegant dark brow arched in what seemed like faux irritation, "The girls and I were in the middle of making fresh soba noodles for dinner tonight. We were going to surprise you.”
He placed both hands on his hip, undaunted by the towering sniper rifle that was still strapped to his back as his lower lip jutted out, "They're going to dry out by the time we get home."
White lashes fluttered and Gojo seemed to soften impossibly further as he tilted his head and tapped his finger to the other man's chin, "How about we order out tonight instead? The girls can pick a special dessert."
"I know you use our daughters as an excuse to indulge your own sweet tooth," He flicked his bangs from his face, violet eyes scrutinizing the mob boss.
Gojo was unfazed by the attitude, tapping the pad of his finger to the other man's chin patiently as he simply smiled dazedly at the man.
The dark haired man huffed and rolled his eyes, "Fine - but I get to pick where we order from since I got dragged across the city to save your ass."
In a tone that was definitely not supposed to be overheard, the white haired man leaned forward to nip at the pierced ear lobe exposed by the man's pony tail, "Hey - you love this ass."
Sharp teeth flashed and in an instant the dark haired man pushed into Gojo's space, their chests pressed together as he stole a quick yet forceful kiss from the Clan Head.
Gojo snickered as he bit his lip while the other spun away, pulling the long rifle from his back and cradling the barrel in his palm as he stalked away.
"I'm going to go see if they left anything valuable behind," He called without turning, "Decide what you want to do with the boys."
Effervescent blue eyes watched the man leave for a moment before they slid over to the two teens who jolted slightly under the piercing gaze.
"Ah-" The white haired man grinned at both of them as he ran a hand through his hair, "Right, sorry about all of this, Megumi-"
"I-it was my fault-" Megumi started to stutter out, realizing now was the first chance they had to speak since the surprise attack, but he was quickly cut off by his friend who spluttered.
"It wasn't Megumi's fault," Yuji quickly blurted, "It was my f-"
"Boys," Gojo's tone held an edge of command that had both of their jaws snapping shut.
"This isn't either of your faults," He shrugged smoothly as he gestured for them to relax, "You're just rookies. This was a slip up."
The two relaxed in the slightest, their shoulders brushing as Megumi shot the pink haired boy a relieved look. He stiffened when his boss spoke again.
"Although, Yuji-" Blue eyes scrutinized him carefully, "You can consider this the only official offer you'll get to leave your brother's gang and join the Gojo Clan instead. I don't make these offers lightly, but... you're a good kid."
Yuji blinked rapidly, his expression vaguely solemn as he gestured to the empty warehouse littered with the occasional corpse, "Well... you can see what my brother thinks of me."
"Unfortunately," Gojo agreed, giving the boy a sympathetic smile, "But family can go beyond the one you were born with."
The pink haired boy's lips twitched before he gave a firm nod, looking over to Megumi who tried to school his expression.
Sure, he had gotten close to Yuji as a front for getting intel since they attended the same school, but he'd started to genuinely like the other boy. The idea that they were parts of rival establishments had really started to wear on him. To know the boy would now be on their side - and therefore around more often - sent an unfamiliar spark of warmth through his chest.
“Good!” Gojo clapped his hands and turned from them, “Now untie Megumi while I get our things.”
The teens did as they were told after exchanging another glance. Yuji gave the dark haired boy a half smile as he helped him out of his bonds.
They simply watched for a few more minutes as Gojo gathered his belongings from where Sukuna had dumped them, haphazardly buckling a shiny watch that likely cost more than either of their lives were worth around his wrist.
"So... that guy's your husband?" Yuji, ever unable to keep his mouth shut, scuffed his shoe against the tile floor as he asked.
Gojo blinked and looked up from the gun he was loading, blue eyes flickering over to where the dark haired man was still clearing all the exits, "Oh! Yeah - that's Suguru."
Megumi nodded, his tongue feeling clumsy in his mouth as he digested the brand new information. It wasn't common knowledge that the head of the Gojo Clan was married - he hadn't heard an inkling about it in the few months he'd worked for them. Not even from his cousin, who'd gotten him into the business.
Unable to think of how to approach a conversation like this with a mob boss, he found himself opening his mouth to ask, "How'd you two meet?"
"Hm?" Gojo's attention shot back to them before he grinned broadly, "Oh - he tried to kill me around ten years ago. Suguru's a trained assassin - the best in the business!”
There was an undeniable glow of pride in the white haired man, even as a shout from across the room added, "Retired!"
Megumi blinked, though he knew he shouldn't have been surprised by the information from the way the violet eyed man - Suguru - had seemingly cleared the property on his own.
"We can talk about it more over dinner!" Gojo blinked and faltered before he waved a hand, "That is, if you two want to come over for dinner?"
