Work Text:
Shinsou zoomed through the hallways, right past a rightfully concerned Hagakure (at least he thought she was concerned? It’s hard to tell–you know, when she’s invisible, and all), and nearly slammed into the wall as he found his way to the elevator. He watched the doors close behind him as he anxiously tapped his foot. Floor one… floor two… floor three… could this elevator go any slower? The doors finally pinged open and he raced his way out. Unfortunately, the man’s great chase was interrupted by his weird, purple counterpart.
“Who-hoah, Shinsou!” Mineta glanced up at the boy, stretching his neck to the sky. “Whatcha got there?”
Hitoshi only responded with his usual glare, unable to find any interest in a peer like Minoru. After all, he had more important things on his plate. “Move,” he murmured, pushing past.
“Why are you on the third floor?” He followed after, influencing Shinsou to take bigger strides, which, in turn, caused Mineta’s walk to speed his walking to a jog so he could keep up. “Isn’t your dorm on the fifth? Who are you here to see?” A comically petite gasp escaped the ball-man’s mouth. “Oh-oh! Kaminari, right?”
At that, Shinsou quickly cocked his neck over, preparing a response. However, as he did so, something fell out of his hoodie…
In those moments, the world seemed to pause. Mineta’s jaw slowly dropped to the floor. He glanced down at what had fallen, then back up at Shinsou, then back down. “You…” he gulped, slowly peering about for any escape he could manage in such short time. Come on, Mineta, you’re trained for… compromising situations like these. Just pretend you didn’t see anything... His knees started to quiver. “Why do you have a…”
“Bang your head against that wall,” Hitoshi quickly interrupted, brainwashing the boy. Mineta did as he was commanded, falling to the floor with a thud . Shinsou picked up what had fallen, stuffed it back down his jacket, and ran off, leaving the unconscious boy behind him.

In the meantime, Denki was in his dorm, peacefully taking his afternoon nap. “HONK, mimimi…” the boy drooled and rolled over. “HOOOOONK, mimimimi–”
“DENKI KAMINARI!”
“AUGH!” He awoke with a jolt, lightning flying from his fingertips and onto his bed. The sudden electricity set a nearby pillow aflame, and Kaminari fell out of bed, his hair sticking out in all directions. He stood, noticed the cushion, panicked, threw it on the ground, and began rapidly stomping on it. His quick thinking put out the flame, but he slipped on the pillowcase draped over the thing and fell backward onto his bum. What a great way to start his 1PM early morning.
“Uhm… you dead in there?” He heard from behind the door, followed by another knock.
Kaminari recognized the voice and gave up, lying onto his back. He snatched the seared pillow off the ground and stuffed it over his face. From behind the fabric, he murmured, “Come in.”
Shinsou tiptoed his way into the room and glanced around, letting out a sigh of relief when he saw it was just Denki. He quickly shut the door behind him. “Get up.”
“You won’t ask why I’m dead on the floor? Dying in my misery? My anguish? The insufferable, intense pain searing all throughout my body?” Kaminari murmured, pointing up at where he thought Shinsou was, though he ended up just gesturing distantly elsewhere. “I’m impaired forever and it’s your fault. You evil, handsome, sleep destroyer.”
Hitoshi scoffed and kicked him in the side with his foot, earning another whine from the blond. “This is serious. Get up. I…” He gulped. “I need your help.”
“Woah, Toshi asking for help?” Denki sat up on the wood floor, plopping the pillow down on his lap. “This must be pretty serious.”
“Call me that again and I’ll actually impair you.” But Kaminari paid no mind to his threats, pushing himself off the ground and standing.
Denki glanced him up and down. “Dude, you look like a mess…” He cringed, his eyes latching onto Shinsou’s hoodie. He had his hand over his stomach, which seemed to have grown disproportionately in size. “Did you get knocked up, or something?”
“Ironic from the guy dressed like that,” Shinsou grimaced at Kaminari’s pajamas–an oversized Dr. Pepper shirt and tattered pair of leopard-print pants–and then back up at his dismayed hair. He reached over to attempt and pat his hair back into place, but it was proved unsuccessful; all it brought for him was a deep flush of his own cheeks as he quickly pulled away.
“Ah, jeez,” Kaminari blinked again, unaware of anything that had just happened. “Really must’ve let yourself go since the last I saw you then… (Yesterday). You been drinking?”
Hitoshi rolled his eyes. “No, you freak. It’s not my stomach. It’s, well…” He squinted his eyes and cautiously glanced around, slowly lifting his hoodie up, careful to not expose his secrets to anyone other than Kaminari.
Underneath the cotton was a large silver bowl, one he kept conveniently pushed against his belly.
“That literally answers none of my questions,” the blond squinted. “You hiding drugs, or something?” He and Shinsou sat on Kaminari’s bed. As they sat, a tiny noise, one similar to a squeak, came from the bowl. Denki jolted back, “Alright, dude, now I’m really confused!”
Shinsou peeled the pot away, and inside the stainless steel was what looked like a bundle of multicolored fur. The two boys peeked inside, and shortly after, an animal’s face popped out from the ball and made another squeak. Though, this time, the noise was easily identified as more of a meow sound.
Denki gasped, looked up at Shinsou, back down at the three kittens, then back up again. “You…” His jaw was dropped to the floor. “Where did you find these things?!”
“Well..,” Hitoshi picked up one of the kittens–a skrunkly, black one–and held it in his lap, petting behind it’s ears. “Sato asked me to run to the store and grab a new cooking pot, hence the bowl, but on my way back, I heard a noise coming from a bush,” he explained as Kaminari cautiously picked up another cat from the bowl, holding it close to his chest.
“So you decided to take on the gift fatherhood,” Denki reached out with his free hand and pat the teen’s shoulder. “I’m proud of you, dude! That’s a huge step.”
“No, I have not,” he glared in response, shrugging Kaminari’s hand off with pink on his cheeks. “I need you to help me get them somewhere safe.”
This earned a frown from the blond. “But can’t we keep them and raise them and name them cute names? Like ‘Toshi Jr.--”
“We are not calling it that.”
“And, oh!” He picked another one up and held it in the air. This kitten was the smallest of the bunch, and it’s tongue stuck out of the side of it’s mouth, causing a permanent dribble of drool. “Aren’t you just the cutest little thing?” Kaminari awed at the dopey creature. “I’m going to name you Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons.” The cat went cross-eyed in response. “Look at this baby!” Denki turned the cat to Shinsou. “Don’t you want to keep Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons forever?”
Hitoshi rubbed his temples. “Of course I want to keep the Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons, but we can’t. Don’t you remember what happened the last time?”
This earned a squint from Denki as he remembered the Koda incident. In their first year, Koda, due to his quirk, would have a plethora of furry friends living in his dorm. It wasn’t until his eight bunnies all got loose and tore up the common room furniture that Nezu decided to permanently ban pets from the dorm premises (Which was extremely hypocritical, considering there were, like, a dozen “animals” working/learning at UA, Nezu included).
Kaminari opened his mouth to respond, but he was interrupted by another knock. “Second time today,” he murmured, squinting at his door. He turned back to Shinsou, “Hide the babies,” as he stood and went to answer the noise.
He turned the knob and swung the door open. On the other end stood Jirou, leant against the wall twirling her earlobe across her fingers. “Denks, hey,” she nodded. “You still up for band practice?”
Denki’s eyes widened. “Oh, yeah! Yeah, I’ll be there!” He glanced back at his room and saw a frantic Shinsou standing in a corner hidden from the view of the door, his arms holding all three of the kittens. He gave the blond a nervous look. Kaminari glanced back, “Erm… do you mind if Shinsou tags along?” He exchanged a sheepish smile.
Jirou squinted. “You know I don’t care, but Bakugo might throw a fit,” she explained, pushing herself off the wall to stand up straight. “We banned boyfriends from practices, remember? Because Izuku wouldn’t stop rambling while we were rehearsing?”
“Oh, yeah…” He thought back to the moment and snorted. “Kacchan might flip his lid. But Shinsou isn’t my boyfriend, or anything,” Denki waved her off. “So he’ll get over it.”
Kyoka’s squint deepend. “Not your boyfriend, right,” She rolled her eyes and took a step toward him, patting him on the shoulder. “Whatever you say, bud. Just be at my dorm in thirty. Bring him if you want.” She turned on her heel and waved him off.
Denki shut the door behind him and let out a sigh of relief, turning to his not-boyfriend. “You’re not seriously thinking of leaving me with all these kittens?” Shinsou broke the silence, placing the three cats down on the bed. “Are you?”
“Course not,” he dismissively waved his hand “That’s why I invited you to practice. Duh.”
“What? Are the cats coming too?” Denki gulped in response, which earnt a sigh from Shinsou.
The blond shot out a thumbs up, attempting to raise the mood. “We’ll totally figure something out! I mean… these babies can’t be too noisy,” he picked up the black one and held it in his arms. “You’re not loud, are you, Toshi Jr.?”
—---------------------------------
“That’s… quite a large bag,” Tokoyami gawked at the large tote Shinsou brought with him, giving a slight squint.
“Yeah, why’s eyebags here?” Bakugo called out, slumped behind his drumset. He twirled a drumstick between his fingers, observing the scene. “Thought you idiots banned boyfriends.”
Kaminari slipped his guitar over his shoulders as Shinsou took a seat nearby, plopping the tote down next to him. “He’s not my boyfriend,” Denki rolled his eyes. “And he’s here because of, uhm… an undisclosed emergency I can’t explain…”
Jirou shrugged. “Fair enough.”
“Not fair,” Katsuki stood up, leaning forwards with a glare. “If Dunce Face can break the rules, so should I. Next rehearsal, Deku–”
“Oh-kay!” Yaomomo clapped her hands, interrupting their riveting conversation. “Let’s get to work! This sounds like an after practice conversation!”
With Momo’s saving grace, the five of them got to work, practicing their music as Shinsou sat and waited quietly. Well, almost quietly.
“Meow!” The small noise purred from inside the tote bag, earning confused looks throughout the band. They stopped playing, and Denki perked up.
“Ahaha, sorry guys!” Kaminari took the blame, nervously licking his lips. “I just had to, aha…” he racked his brain for one of his usual, genius excuses. “I was just… practicing for the furry-con this weekend!”
Everyone went silent for a moment, before a confused Yaomomo spoke up. “Okay, well…” she blinked. “Let’s save the meowing for after we’re done…” Kaminari shot a glare at Shinsou who only shrugged in response.
The two continued running through their upcoming setlist, and the rest of the rehearsal played out better than expected. It wasn’t until they got to the last song that… problems…arose.
As the song reached the bridge, Kaminari opened his mouth to sing his part, but his voice was interrupted by yet another meow . He slammed his lips shut as the song came to a stop. “Denki, please–” Yaomomo started, but she was interrupted by a curious voice.
“Wait, no… I liked that…” Jirou squinted, a smirk creeping onto her face as her musical gears turned. “Let’s repeat that measure a second time. Denki, make that noise again for the first repeat, but hold it out into a note, then come in on the downbeat.”
The blond gulped. “Alright…”
They did as Jirou instructed, and Kaminari prepared himself to try and best replicate the high-pitched squeaky meows the kittens exclaimed. Only issue, when you’re as jam-packed with testosterone as Denki was, hitting a note like that wasn’t an easy task. He hadn’t properly warmed up his voice for it, either. I mean, as Kirishima would say, there are some tasks you’re just too manly for, and this was one of them.
“Meoh!”
Denki hit the note perfectly, replicating the noise to a tee.
And, despite the oddity of the idea, Jirou’s idea was a wonderful addition to the song.
—---------------------------------
It wasn’t until practice was over that Kaminari got a chance to speak with Shinsou. He made his way over, leaning on the wall in front of the teen. “Who knew I could make such good meow noises?” He grinned, then glanced around, dropping his voice. “Speaking of meows, where are the babies?”
Shinsou crossed his arms. “I stuck the bag outside Jirou’s dorm so they wouldn’t keep disrupting,” he explained calmly. “Sorry about that, by the way.”
“You WHAT ?!” Denki shot a hand over his mouth. “How long have they been out there alone for?!”
Hitoshi shrugged. “Few minutes, maybe? I stayed with them most of the rehearsal. Just came back in here to make sure you were supervised finding your way back–”
“Sparky!” Bakugo interrupted what would’ve been Shinsou’s epic roast as he strutted his way over, crossing his arms over his chest. He squinted at the blond. “I know what you’re hiding.”
The two of the cat-ninjas exchanged a glance. “We’re not hiding anything…” Kaminari quivered, a bead of sweat dripping down his face. Shinsou, on the other hand, stuck his hands dismissively into his pockets, waiting for Kaminari to finish this conversation; either he was much better at hiding secrets, or he simply couldn't bring himself to care about Katsuki’s opinion of him.
“Just…” Bakugo leant into Kaminari’s ear and reluctantly whispered. “Keep the cats safe, or whatever. Don’t let Sensei find them.”
—---------------------------------
“So now we’re under oath to keep the babies safe by all means necessary,” Kaminari explained to Shinsou as they left Jirou’s dorm. “We absolutely cannot let Aizawa-Sensei find them. If we do, he might send them to a shelter somewhere, and Toshi jr, Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons, and Hairball Hacker (which is the name they’d decided for the other one) deserve the best life we can give them! We should find a home for those three, and give them–Hitoshi, why do you look so freaked out?”
Shinsou furrowed his eyebrows, squatted over the tote bag. “The cats have escaped.”
—---------------------------------
The two of them decided to split up and search, running all around Heights Alliance for any sign of the furballs. The first was spotted in one of Denki’s favorite places (also the spot he’s technically banned from), the wonderful kitchen.
“Kaminari, you’re not allowed to be in here…” Sato raised an eyebrow, pulling a vanilla cake out from the oven.
“I know, I know!” The blond retorted, immediately running to open and peer into every cabinet he could. “It’s an emergency, though. I’ve lost something very important!” When he couldn’t find any animals in the left side of the kitchen, he ran around to the right and continued his great search.
Sato only watched, full of confusion. “Just don’t use the oven again. We can’t have a repeat of last time,” he placed the cake down and wagged his finger.
“Psh, don’t worry,” Denki waved. “I’ve gotten a lot better with the good ol’ oven. Hitoshis been teaching me. Says I’ll die living off takeout, but I just think he’s being dramatic,” he continued rummaging through the cabinets, and, inside the one underneath the fridge, he found her–Hairball Hacker, the calico of the bunch. Denki reached his hand in and tried to grab her, but she retreated further into the space. “Come on, Hairball…” he whispered to the animal. “I’m trying to save you here.”
“He’s been teaching you?” Sato questioned, snatching his pipe of frosting as he began decorating the cake. “You know he has a crush on you, right?”
Denki, who was already halfway in the cabinet, tried to stand from his shock, but only ended up smacking his head on the roof of the space. “OWH!” He pulled out and rubbed his skull, his cheeks flushed. “You’ve gotta be joking. That’s a whole bunch of baloney. Baloney on baloney.”
“Not baloney. The only meat I’m talking about is this bacon,” with that, Sato finished his frosting and pulled a bag of bacon bites from his apron pocket and awed it with shiny eyes.
“Bacon?”
“Bacon. I’m trying a new recipe for Sero’s birthday,” Sato grinned, ripping open the bag. The smell of lovely bacon began wafting through the kitchen as he picked bits off and carefully draped them onto the cake.
Kaminari cringed in response, standing from his spot. “I fear nobodies going to eat that, dude. Sorry to break it to you,” he walked next to Sato and stole a bacon bite from his bag. “You’re the greatest baker I know, don’t get me wrong, but… frosting and meat?”
Sato nodded. “Exactly. But Sero loves it. He can have his meal and he’ll stop complaining about everyone stealing his leftovers.”
This earned a gasp from the blond. “You’re right!” He held the bacon bite up, preparing to eat it. “That’s a sick gift. I still don’t know what I’m getting him–”
Just then, their conversation was interrupted by a furball of color flying through the hair and smacking into Kaminari’s arm. The boy let out a scream as–what he now recognized to be a cat–wrapped it’s paws around his arm and engulfed his entire hand into it’s mouth. Sato then joined his screaming, the two of them staring at the animal munching on the bacon bite.
The cat then fell off Denki’s saliva-drenched hand and crawled straight into the bag of bacon bites.
—---------------------------------
Shinsou, on the other hand, was having less luck finding any kittens. He’d already searched the common room, the boys toilet, knocked on several dorm doors, but alas, nothing was found. The only place he hadn’t checked yet was… the girls bathroom.
Unfortunately, there would be no way to get in. Shinsou was not about to test fate, especially with how much time the girls will spend in there fixing their makeup, or plotting murders, or whatever it is that makes women spend so much time in bathrooms. That’s when he decided to phone a friend.
“Say there was… a cat run loose around the dorms…”
Mina squinted her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. “You snuck a cat in?”
“Not snuck . It’s a long story. And I plan on getting it out soon,” Shinsou pinched the bridge of his nose. “Just… can you go in and check? I have to get the babies to safety–”
“The babies ?” A small laugh escaped Mina’s lips as she stepped closer to him. “Who got you calling things babies ? This is all awfully suspicious, Shinsou. What are you planning?”
He took a step back in response, furrowing his eyebrows. “What? I don’t know? I just want the cat back–”
“I’m only messing with ya’!” Mina’s demeanor quickly shifted as she clapped a hand on his shoulder. “Of course I’ll go in and look! You just stay right here, I’ll be back in a jiffy!”
And so, Ashido left a very confused Shinsou standing outside the girl’s restroom. He patiently waited two minutes… then five… then thirty. By the thirty-first, he’d decided to knock on the door. “Mina? Found it yet?” His response from inside was a plethora of giggles, and he knew the worst had happened.
“Yeah, we found it alright,” Jirou was the one to open the door, and behind her was Ashido, Yaomomo, Tsu, and Hagakure all crowded around the sink. She left the door open and turned around to grab the cat, offering it back to Shinsou. “Here’s Pumpkin. We gave him a makeover.”
“His name is Toshi Jr.,” Shinsou squinted, then looked down at the black cat. To his dismay, he saw the state of the animal; It was wearing a pink, sparkly dress, and had a cupcake hat on its head. Toshi Jr. also wore tiny mittens and was bundled up in a fluffy, white blanket. Shinsou glared, “What did you do?” He questioned in dismay as he cradled the creature.
Jirou shrugged. “Like I said, they wanted to give him a makeover. Yaoyorozu helped make the clothes, and Mina dressed him up all pretty. Here,” she then passed over a mini Metallica band-tee. “I asked her to make this, too, for when he enters his teenage emo phase.”
Shinsou grabbed the shirt with his free arm, eyebrows furrowed. “...Thank you?”
—---------------------------------
The two boys reunited and, safe to say, they were both unhappy with the state of the other’s cat.
“Why is Toshi Jr. a rockstar?” Denki squinted at the cat (now wearing the band shirt).
“Why is Hairball Hacker covered in bacon bites?” Shinsou took the cat from his arms, now holding both.
“You know what?” Kaminari clapped his hands, grinning. “I don’t think now is the time to ask questions–”
“...how did she get access to bacon–”
“Because we still have to find Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons! Come on!”
—---------------------------------
The two dropped off and locked the kittens inside of Shinsou’s dorm, and then Kaminari dragged him off to search in their final destination, the one place neither of them had checked–the laundry room.
“We have a laundry room?” Hitoshi squinted. “You wash your clothes?”
“Yes, and yes. Nobody uses it, though; not when there’s that washing machine in the common room. It’s way down in the basement,” that’s when Denki opened the door he had led him to, and it slowly creaked open, dust pouring out from inside. He coughed and waved his hand around, and after a moment, the fog cleared and revealed a long, dark staircase. “Right down here!”
Shinsou reluctantly followed behind. “You sure you’re not leading me to some secret murder chamber?” He asked as they stepped down the long stairs, the room around them only growing darker with each inch forward.
“Nah, dude, trust me,” Denki hopped down the stairs, unfazed. “The kitten should be down here for-sure.”
After a while of walking, they’d found themselves in pure darkness, and Shinsou reached into his pocket to find a flashlight. As he flicked it on, right infront of him, he was greeted with his worst nightmare. There it hung, eight creepy eyes and lanky arms. The spider glared at him–almost mocking him–and in Hitoshi’s mind, he could’ve sworn it had large, evil fangs.
“AUGH!” The teen shouted, much to Kaminari’s surprise, and toppled forward, falling onto Denki. The two tumbled down the stairs for a bit, and landed at the end of the staircase with a thud. They landed at the bottom, Denki on top of him.
He pushed himself up on his hands, staring down. “Something freak you out?”
Shinsou’s face flushed pink as he furrowed his eyebrows, rubbing his forehead. “No,” he lied. “But I think I hit my head,” Shinsou grumbled, feeling dizzy. And warm. He also felt unusually warm.
Denki snatched the flashlight and shone it in Hitoshi’s face. “You look red, too. Maybe you’re concussed,” He scooched off of Shinsou and sat next to him, holding his hand up. “How many fingers am I–?”
His sentence was conveniently cut off by something hitting his face. “Agh!” He yelped, pulling it off, then threw it when he saw it was a dirty sock. “What the hell?!”
“Why are you two down here?!” Another voice exclaimed as the lights flickered on. The two glanced around, and what they saw was… unexpected.
It was a dimly lit, dusty room, and lined against the walls were washer and dryers. The floor was covered in an assortment of clothes, and some hung off the shelves and on the ceiling fan. In the middle of it was a very dismayed Ochako, a frown on her face, “I was training!”
“Training in the laundromat is an interesting choice,” Shinsou commented as he stood. “But, you know,” he shrugged, then offered Kaminari a hand to help him up. “Whatever works for you.”
“Have you seen any small animals around here?!” It was Denki’s turn to talk, taking Shinsou’s help and standing. “About yeh-big,” he demonstrated with his hands. “Really dopey looking, too?”
Uraraka took a minute to think to herself. “Well, there are a lot of rats down here…” she put a finger to her chin, humming. “I tend to float them with all the laundry. So, if there was an animal down here, who knows where it went…” she shrugged.
Kaminari turned and groaned in frustration, digging his face into Shinsou’s shoulder. Shinsou’s face went red, and he couldn't think for a moment, before he decided on awkwardly patting him in condolence. He gathered his mind and spoke up, “Is that what you were doing down here?” He glanced around. “Floating laundry?”
“Well, yeah,” Uraraka smiled. “It’s great practice!”
“I hope you’re only floating around your own clothes…” Shinsou squinted, eyes full of speculation.
“Ha…ha…, yeah!”
—---------------------------------
So, after kicking Uraraka out, the two got to searching. After tearing the place from top to bottom, however, it seemed as if they were having no luck. Kaminari grumbled and hopped up to sit atop a dryer, frowning. “Sweet sweet babies,” he exclaimed with a dramatic sigh. “Where have you gone?”
“We’ll find the babies,” Shinsou rolled his eyes, giving Kaminari a quick shoulder pat. He’d gotten a lot better at maintaining physical contact with the guy without spontaneously combusting. “Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons can’t have gone too far.”
That’s when, much to their joy, a small, squeaky mew was heard, and the both of them perked up and turned to the noise. That’s when they spotted the final kitten. It was atop the highest shelf in the room, glancing down at the floor with worried eyes.
The two raced over, and Shinsou stuck his arms out. “C’mere, kitty…” he mumbled, but the cat only backed away further, starting to hiss at the man.
Denki frowned. “I think Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons is scared of you, bro,” he pointed out as the cat continued hissing.
“A cat? Scared of me ?” He scoffed, stepping up onto his tiptoes as he reached. “Don’t make me laugh.”
But, much to his dismay, the cat continued hissing. That’s when Denki had an idea.
He reached out and placed a hand over Shinsou’s forehead, and, surprisingly, the cat stopped grumbling! It even took a few steps toward the boys.
Kaminari grinned, “Didn’t expect that to work!”
“What to work?” Hitoshi glared, his face pink. “Why are your clammy palms on me? Go away,” he swatted his hand off, but, once he did so, the cat started hissing again.
“Well, we had this cat growing up,” Kaminari placed his hand on the man’s forehead again, and the cat stopped hissing. “Big, clear spaces scared her real bad. Like paper, or, well…,” Denki cringed at Shinsou.
“My forehead is not that big,” he glared and swatted him off again, but the cat started to hiss. His eyebrows furrowed deeper, and he stuck his own hand onto his face. The cat calmed again, and Denki reached his hands out, to which the kitten jumped in. “I hate you,” Hitoshi grumbled.
Kaminari picked up the cat and grabbed its paw, using it to pat Shinsou’s shoulder. “Your forehead is great, don’t worry, dude!” He grinned. “Even if Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons disagrees.”
—---------------------------------
The two of them left the laundry room with the cat and raced back to Shinsou’s dorm. Unfortunately, they ran into their final obstacle on the way. Standing outside of Hitoshi’s dorm was their worst nightmare, Shouta Aizawa.
“Mineta told me something very interesting today,” he crossed his hands over his chest as Kaminari hid the kitten behind his back. “Care to explain why he said you, and I quote,” he turned his attention to Shinsou. “‘Birthed a kitten’ and then ‘concussed Mineta’?”
“Shit,” Hitoshi cursed under his breath. “I forgot about that little prick.”
Denki’s jaw dropped to the floor as he turned to his partner-in-crime, equal parts amazed and curious, but did the totally-awesome hero-in-training thing and covered him.
“Well, Sensei, you see… uhm…” he gulped, glancing around, then pointed at Shinsou. “It was all him! It was all his fault and not me at all!”
Kaminari, however, neglected the fact that, in his hand, was Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons, and he had just exposed the cat to an extremely disappointed Aizawa.
“How many are there?” The teacher sighed.
—---------------------------------
The boys showed Shota into the dorm and the three cats, explaining their situation. Aizawa picked up Hairball Hacker and held her to his chest. “Why didn’t you just tell me ?” With his free hand, he pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head.
“We were scared you’d send them away to a shelter!” Kaminari frowned, Toshi Jr. propped up on his shoulder like a parrot. “We’re too emotionally attached to these kittens now. We won’t let anything happen to them,” Kaminari
glared, a sudden courageous jolt rushing through him. “If you want to send these cats away, you’ll have to go through me first,” he cracked his knuckles as Shinsou grimaced at him.
Aizawa matched his cringe. “I’m Shota Aizawa. You really think I’d let anything happen to these babies?” He rolled his eyes. “ Please. I have, like, five cats at home, you should know this,” he glared at Shinsou. “I’ll find a safe place for them.”
“Really?!” Denki perked up, grinning. “You’re awesome, Sensei! Thank you!”
—---------------------------------
And, so, the cats found their way to a safe home.
One, in particular, reappeared in the boys' lives…
“Wow, Hitoshi, your house is so cool!” Denki gawked at the size of it, kicking his shoes off. “It’s so weird to think you live with a teacher.”
“Yeah, well,” Shinsou rubbed the back of his neck. “That’s not the only weird thing I live with.”
Just then, a small cat stepped out from its hiding spot. He was still tiny, and had its tongue sticking out of his mouth, causing that same permanent dribble of drool. The animal ran straight for Kaminari, mewing. “Big Chungus Destroyer of Multiverses Slayer of Dark Lords and Demons!” Denki exclaimed, wrapping the cat in his arms. “My baby!”
Shinsou nodded, a sheepish smile threatening his face. “Yeah, Dad let me keep one.”
