Leon didn't think he'd spend his Saturday helping Frankie with her art project. Ada and Mei were at a mommy and me thing so it was just the two of them.
“Kid, are you sure you want my help?” Leon asked, he was talentless when it came to art.
“Yeah Dad, I really need you to help me.” Shouko looked over at him.
Leon sat down on the chair next to her scanning over the supplies on the table. He raised an eyebrow looking over at her.
“Um, where's the paper?” Leon asked.
“About that.” Frankie started with a nervous laugh. “So the assignment is special effect make-up.”
“Kid, what are you getting at?”
“I need to use you.” Frankie looked to him.
Leon sighed. “Why aren't you doing this in class?”
“They don't trust me with a knife.” She shrugged, she play threatened her friend with a butter knife and now she's banned from using one.
“Kid, I don-”
“I promise I won't cut your hair or hurt you.” Frankie sent him a pleading look. “I won't hurt you on purpose.”
Leon sighed, with a smile. “Fine brat, I trust you.” Leon was going to let her do it, he didn't really mind it.
Shouko smiled while getting her sketch. “So this is the sketch I'm going off of.” Shouko handed the book to him. Leon looked at it then looked at her.
“When did you draw me?” Leon looked at her shocked, Shouko looked away from him. “Did you play me?”
“Tch, no. Why do you ask that?” Shouko looked over at him, yes she did play him. Only because she doesn't like some people in the class.
“You even got my skin tone in make-up.” Leon looked at her, he knew she played him. But he’ll still let her do the make-up. It'll be a good bonding moment.
Most of their bounding is her punching him in training. For her to be the size she is, she packs a powerful punch.
Frankie got to work, brushing his hair out of the way. Putting a headband on him. She got everything ready before she realized something.
“Dad?” Shouko squinted.
“Yeah?” Leon looked over at her.
She didn't want to make him do this. “Is it alright if you shave?”
“Why kid? Your sketch has it.” Leon asked, He really didn't want to shave right now.
“I just don't want it to hurt when I remove the make up.”
“What are you going to do to me?” Leon looked at her.
Shouko explained the process to him, telling him everything. He decided against shaving, so she got to work. Leon did mess with her a few times, he had to.
He ended up falling asleep. She was able to work more since he was sleeping. Since he isn't moving his mouth the glue is drying faster. She got a lot done, adding in the fake blood was fun.
Even though it was slightly traumatizing seeing him with these types of injuries. She didn't want this to happen to him, she kinda regrets doing this on him.
But she was proud of her work, she took progress photos to show her teacher.
She had other items for the more professional photos. An old shirt she destroyed. Along with props, she made him wear an easy shirt to take off to make sure he didn't mess up the make-up.
“Ki-” Leon went to rub his eye, Shouko grabbed his arm.
“Don't you’ll mess up the make-up!” She gasped.
Leon looked over at her, he couldn't feel anything on his face. He raised his hands. Shouko handed him the mirror and he was shocked.
“Holly shit, good job Kiddo.” Leon praised looked over at his daughter.
“Thanks dad.” Shouko smiled. She explained what else she was going to need from him.
“So why did you make me change clothes?”
“So I can stick this arrow through you.” Shouko looked at him.
Leon didn't think he heard her right. “Do what?”
“Stick this broken arrow in fake skin.”
“But why kid?”
“I have to take photos.” Shou looked at him. “And I need it to look believable.” Leon just let everything happen, Shouko quickly got to work on making more fake scars on his neck and shoulder. On places where the shirt was ripped she made gashes.
Leon was shocked at how good she was at this type of make-up. He took a photo of himself and sent it to Ada telling her what their daughter was doing. Ada was shocked she thought he’d gotten hurt.
Ada is now convinced that Shouko should become an Spy instead of an agent or a profiler.
Shouko was finishing the final touches when Ada came home. After putting Mei down for her nap. She helped Shouko set up a background for the photoshoot. The photos that she took were amazing.
She made sure to really get the correct tone for the photos. Leon was super proud of her.
It took a while to get the makeup off Leon. She was taking off the fake skin on his forehead when she realized she had used too much glue. Leon had his head back, eyes closed, relaxed.
She looked to Ada, with a shocked expression, mouthing a help. She came over and before she could ask. She saw what Shouko was freaking out about.
Ada let out a half laugh, before trying to help Shouko.
“What did you do?” Leon asked.
Frankie stayed silent, just looking at Ada. “Nothing.”
“It must be something.” Leon asked, sitting up. He saw the look on her face, raising an eyebrow. Ada was holding back a laugh.
“Dad, I swear nothings wrong.” Shouko was clearly lying.
“Tell me what you did.” Leon looked at her. She didn't say anything other than handing him the mirror. Leon looked at her shocked. “Where's my eyebrow?”
Shouko looked away from him. “Right here?” Shouko showed him the fake skin, it was an accident Leon knew that. So he tried to stay calm, he knows she'll be watching his reaction.
“Kid, why did my eyebrow come off?”
It took her a moment to respond. “I put too much glue by accident.”
“You better draw my eyebrow back every day till it grows back.” Leon looked over at her. She was thankful he wasn't mad.
“Reasonable. They may not match?”
“If you can do whatever you did with that make-up, you can make my eyebrows match.” Leon looked over.
“You're still gonna have to wash off the fake blood.” Shouko looked at him.
Leon went to shower, Shouko was editing the photos. She made the power point of her progress.
“How's it going?” Ada asked, handing her a bowl of fruit.
“It's going.” Shouko looked over taking some strawberries. It was stressful, her teacher would nitpick everything. She’ll most likely have to redo the assignment in the classroom.
Her teacher is the type of art teacher that thinks she's better than everyone. When she sees students that are better than her, she tears down their confidence to make their creativity die so she can stay the most talented.
She’ll most likely have to bring her dad into school, and repeat her progress in the classroom.
This teacher makes her hate art. If she wasn't so stubborn she'd drop the class. It really helps when your dad is a government agent, it gets you a few things, along with your uncle being a past president.
In certain classes, she can do whatever she wants. She very much used it to her advantage.
During dinner, Leon looked at his daughter.
“How did the photos go?” Leon asked.
“They look good, but Mrs. Bitch is probably gonna make me redo the assignment in class.” Shouko sighed.
“Language around Mei.” Leon looked at her, he knew once she started speaking. Him and Shouko were gonna be in trouble.
Ada looked at her confused. “Why would you have to redo it?”
“Because, she wont believe I actually did it.” Shouko sighed, eating her rice.
“Will I need to come in?” Leon asked.
“I'll know Monday.” She sighed.
After a few hours, Shou went to her dads office. Ada had gone to bed earlier, Mei went to bed with her. Both Leon and Shouko were night owls. This is when she’d spend more time with him.
Leon was working in his office when he heard knocking on his door.
“Come in.” Leon called out.
Shouko opened the door looking over at him. “Dad?”
“Whatcha need kid?”
“Are you busy?” Shouko asked.
Leon looked over to her. “No, What do you need?”
“Will you watch a movie with me?” Shouko asked.
Leon smiled before getting up. “Yes, I'll watch a movie with you.”
This was her way of asking for him to cuddle with her. She thinks she is too old to ask him, so she asks to watch a movie and hold on to him.
Leon was right in what Shouko wanted, she immediately clung to him like the Koala she is. Leon wanted to comment on it but he held back, he just held her.
Shouko was a clingy kid, she's been that way ever since he first got her.
Leon hates to admit how much he misses when she was younger. He loved it when she was younger, she was kinder and sweeter then she is now. He misses when she was unintentionally mean, now she's just mean.
He knows she doesn't mean to be as mean as she is; she just has no filter. Sometimes during training she really hurts his feelings, but he knows it's just all talk. She doesn't mean what she says, she says it to get into his head so she can strike easier.
He's proud of the kid he raised, She's a good kid. He wouldn't change one thing about the way he raised her. The only things he wished he could change, he wished he would have gotten her sooner.
Shouko had her head on his shoulder, watching the tv. Leon didn't like the shows she likes, but he loves his daughter and he’ll do this with her.
“How can you fall asleep to a show like this?” Leon asked, looking at her.
Frankie shrugged. “It's peaceful, I know who the unsub is.” She yawned.
Leon just shook his head. He knew his child was a bit weird, but he couldn't imagine her any other way. He loves his daughter more than anything else, he would never change his little girl.
