Work Text:
The plan had been to keep things on the down low for a while. At least that’s what Josuke had said the morning after he confessed to Okuyasu.
“Not that I’m ashamed or anything like that. Anyone who has a problem with us can meet Crazy Diamond and the Hand! There won’t be nothing left of them to mouth off!” Josuke had proclaimed as he combed back Okuyasu’s hair. They’d woken all snuggled up with each other and unbelievably sweaty. They cracked up into identical fits of nervous laughter but they still stayed huddled together until Tomoko was screaming up the stairs for them to finally come down and eat. Josuke sat up on the bed while Okuyasu was on the floor. Josuke had insisted on doing his hair before they went down for breakfast and Okuyasu wondered if Josuke, in his very weird, follicle focused way, was trying to take care of him or something. It made Okuyasu feel warm and kinda tingly. “And I don’t mean hide it or nothin’ like that. I just don’t wanna be one of those gross couples who make out in public. And I don’t like people bein’ up in my business, y’know?”
Okuyasu’s brain felt like a fried egg so he just nodded while Josuke shook the hairspray can and nearly murdered him with the fumes. Okuyasu didn’t really grow up knowing a lot about love. But there was no other word he knew that could describe what he felt in his chest about Josuke. And he’d felt it for what felt like fucking ages. Ever since Josuke saved him from Keicho’s Stand and healed his face Okuyasu had been mooning over him like some love sick girl in a shoujo. He thought about him every night and in the shower and every time they had hung out Okuyasu had been a moist mess. So hearing that Josuke not only liked him, but was attracted to him and wanted to kiss him nearly killed Okuyasu, if he was being honest. Okuyasu had wondered all last night if he had been dreaming, but it was morning now, and the power was back. Tomoko was cooking breakfast downstairs and Josuke kissed the top of his head once he finished up.
“We do gotta tell my mom soon though.” Josuke said, sliding off the bed. He sat down opposite of Okuyasu, his hair already finely coiffed. Okuyasu had really liked seeing it down, ‘cause he knew that he was the only one allowed to see that side of Josuke. Like he was special. “She’s probably somehow figured it out anyway from like our tracks in the carpet of something.”
Okuyasu laughed at his despair over Tomoko’s sharply honed maternal instincts. Really, Josuke didn’t know how lucky he was. “How soon is soon?”
“Not today,” Josuke said, his eyes going all half lidded and heavy. Okuyasu could hardly breathe much less think when the other boy gazed at him like that. And if he kept that shit up Okuyasu wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to have another thought that wasn’t about those eyes ever again. “I wanna kiss you man.”
“Then don’t be chicken shit and do it.” Okuyasu felt like he’d die if he was deprived of Josuke’s lips now. He pulled him by his t-shirt and Josuke straddled his lap. Okuyasu quickly kissed him, because he knew if he thought too much about what was going on his entire body would shut down from the shock of it all. Like a possum.
So keeping it low key had been the plan. But really, Okuyasu should have known that he and Josuke’s plans kinda got fucked up a lot. Okuyasu somehow knew things weren’t gonna go right when Josuke called him Monday morning to tell him he’d overslept and would be late for school.
“It’s not my fault!” Josuke whined. “I’m still all fucked up from Kira! The painkillers make me sleepy and I don’t sleep good without you, baby. Just go on without me…I’ll be fine.”
He sounded super pathetic so Okuyasu grabbed some extra nori he had made earlier for him. And even though he had told him not to wait, Okuyasu hung out by the front gates. Hey, he had been late to class before. One or two or ten times. What was one more? He and Josuke could be hoodlums together!
It was about ten minutes to the bell so there were a few people still lingering outside, putting off the start of the school day. Okuyasu understood that feeling all too well. He had a biology quiz today that he had been planning on studying for this weekend, cause he really needed a B. Instead I just made out with Josuke. Okuyasu puffed out his chest proudly. No one else can say that! Well, I guess there’s more than one Josuke in Japan but I'm the only one who made out with Josuke Higashikata! A failin’ grade means nothin’ compared to that!
“Okuyasu!”
Josuke was jogging towards him, looking like he had ran the entire way. Okuyasu wondered if he was already out of tardies. He caught up to Okuyasu, panting and sweaty and completely winded. He rested his hands on his knees and made a noise like he was gonna puke. “Well, you made it!” Okuyasu said, noticing that his hair was still perfect. Josuke would rather die than show up to school unmade.
“Barely.” Josuke stood back up and suddenly their eyes met. It was like getting a static shock to his entire body and before Okuyasu knew what was happening Josuke draped his arms over his shoulders and kissed him hello.
It took all of his willpower and strength and soul to pull back. “Heyyyyyy,” Okuyasu said as Josuke tilted his head and sighed dreamily. “I thought you said you didn’t wanna people in your business?” Okuyasu glanced around and blushed. Yeah, everyone who was outside had seen them and he knew there were plenty more looking out of the windows. It didn’t stop him from wrapping his arms around Josuke’s waist. “People are starin’ man.”
“Doesn’t bother me.” Josuke shrugged, closing the gap between them. Okuyasu’s heart thudded and his hands got clammy. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever get used to this. “You look so good guess I changed my mind.”
He kissed him again, lingering a while. It had been like maybe ten hours since their last make out session so Okuyasu really didn’t want to pull back again. What he wanted to do was tackle Josuke to the ground and hide in some bushes for a while. “Well, whatever. Not like anyone’s gonna mess with us. I think that girl over there is crying though.”
Josuke chuckled and then took his hand. “C’mon, if I’m late again I’m gonna get detention for a week and then mom’ll kill me!”
They turned a lotta heads as they walked into the school. Two big ol’ punks holdin hands…if I weren’t me I’d be sneakin a peek too, Okuyasu thought, kinda amused with the whole thing. Josuke just looked so damn happy to be with him and Okuyasu was over the moon. He felt like he could do anything. They didn’t let go of each other until class started and during every break Okuyasu turned around in his chair so he could continue gazing at him like he was some wicked masterpiece. And kiss just a little. He didn’t even notice the staring and whispering (and occasional sobbing from one of Josuke’s fangirls) after a while. They ate lunch up on the roof and Josuke laid his head in Okuyasu’s lap and ignored his leftover curry in favor of Okuyasu’s bento. Normally Okuyasu would just swat his hand away but he let him steal a few pieces of shrimp before rolling him off his lap. By the time the school let out Okuyasu felt like the entire school knew, and he saw a lot of people exchanging money.
“T-they were takin bets? There were bets!?” Josuke asked Koichi as the day ended and they were cleaning up the classroom. Yukako was smiling graciously at the two of them. Josuke had only just admitted to Okuyasu that he went to her for advice. Okuyasu was just happy he hadn't ended up gagged and in some random mansion somewhere.
“Mmhm. There were a couple different ones.” Koichi said matter-of-factly. “When you would get together, if you’d do it before second year, if you’d even do it. Who confessed first, if you’d end up doing it in front of everyone out in the courtyard.” Koichi pulled out a rather thick stack of money and handed Josuke and Okuyasu some. “There you go, you deserve some. You earned it.”
“Koichi!” Okuyasu exclaimed, shocked by his wiliness. He had thought Koichi was too vanilla for something like betting. “You too?!”
He shrugged with one shoulder and Yukako giggled. “I was betting on my friends falling in love, that’s not so bad, is it?”
Josuke chocked on his soda and Okuyasu dropped the broom. His adrenaline spiked and he felt his ears burn. Josuke was just as red. Shit man, I haven’t told him that yet! Okuyasu bit his lip and went back to sweeping. Josuke’s all sweaty now again. Does he…is he in love with me? I’m not ever sure what that would mean for us.
“Anyway,” Koichi said after no one said anything for a really fucking long ass time. “Congrats. All of Morioh-Cho will know about you two by the end of the week. You’ll become a tourist attraction.”
Josuke snorted. “Fine, but they gotta pay to watch us make out. That work for you, Okuyasu?”
Okuyasu nodded. “Free money! I’m down with it.”
Yukako made a face like someone shoved a lemon up her butt. “No one would pay for that when you’re giving free shows between every class.” She leveled a threatening finger at Josuke and even though Okuyasu knew she wouldn’t pick a fight he still felt the urge to get in-between them. “Don’t make me regret helping you two hook up.”
“You don’t mind it that much Yukako.” Koichi muttered, tying off the garbage bag. “I’ve seen those manga under your bed.”
Yukako maintained a dignified face to that remark, which Okuyasu didn’t really quite get. “So have you two been on a date yet? First dates are very important to establishing the tone of the relationship.”
“Ehh? Me and Josuke have known each other since like April!” Okuyasu said, putting the broom away. Being in charge of the housecleaning since he was four had turned him into a really efficient sweeper. “I think we’ve already ‘established’ stuff.”
“Yeah,” Josuke draped his arm over Okuyasu’s shoulders and kissed his cheek. Okuyasu jumped. “We’re the two coolest guys in Morioh!”
Koichi smiled like a weary grandpa and Yukako rolled her eyes. “Well, since I made this happen, I must make sure that relationship blossoms. I’ve already perfected mine, so you two might as well learn from the best.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder and Okuyasu felt his skin tingle. He never wanted to have to fight Love Deluxe. “We should double date this weekend.”
Okuyasu and Josuke looked at each other, wide eyed. They were tight enough that they could basically communicate telepathically. Josuke’s look said why not, they’re fun to hang out with and Yukako’s just tryin’ be nice! While Okuyasu’s said No fucking way, bro. Josuke cleared his throat and rubbed at the back of his head. Okuyasu thought it was real cute when he got all nervous. He’s no where as smooth as he thinks, Okuyasu thought, feeling his insides get fluffy and wiggly again. But he’s still the coolest.
“I’m busy this weekend! Gotta help my mom with the yard and shit.”
“Then next weekend?”
“I got a doctor’s appointment,” Okuyasu said. That was actually true. Tomoko had found out it had been 1987 since he had been to the doctor. “And a dentist appointment.” 1986.
Yukako’s eyebrows drew dangerously close together and the lights flickered. “Then the next weekend.”
Okuyasu and Josuke glanced at each other again. The message was clear. “Ok!” They agreed in unison, giving her matching thumbs up.
They walked home as a group. Yukako eventually went her way, and then Koichi his, leaving Josuke and Okuyasu alone. Normally, Mikitaka was also there but today he had informed them he had ‘a mission’ to take care of and had skipped school.
“He’s not gonna blow up the earth is he?” Okuyasu wondered, swinging their linked hands a little. No one was sure what Mikitaka was, still. Alien or crazy guy or someone pulling the greatest prank in the entire damn world. But he was chill and liked to eat out and always treated so he was cool now in Okuyasu’s mind.
“Nah, he likes earth! He probably had to go do maintenance on his ship or somethin.” Josuke laughed a little before he sighed dramatically. “Yukako is relentless. And Koichi just let her torture us!”
“That’s his girl now dude, he’s gonna side with her.” Okuyasu shrugged. “I just…”
“Hey,” Josuke stopped walking and squeezed Okuyasu’s hand. “What’s wrong?”
Okuyasu swallowed. He was kinda embarrassed about this, actually. He never wanted Josuke to think he was lame! “I don’t want our first date to be with them, man.” Okuyasu hurriedly looked down at his feet. “It’s not romantic and shit, it just be like we were hanging out, like usual. Sorry, that’s really stupid and girly.”
“It’s not that stupid dude. I get it.” Okuyasu managed to look back up at Josuke and shit, he was blinding. He was just so hot and gorgeous that Okuyasu felt dumbstruck more than usual. “I get you. Let’s just go out before our double date. That way it won't be our first.”
Okuyasu immediately perked up and he watched Josuke get red. Does he like me that much? Is he gonna blush every time I smile? “Ok!”
“So, uh…” Josuke tossed his bag over his shoulder and cocked his hip, moving way into Okuyasu’s space. “You wanna come back to my place?”
Josuke pressed his hips against Okuyasu’s and leaned down so that they were nose to nose. Okuyasu would have made fun of Josuke’s seduction techniques if they didn’t work so damn well. Okuyasu was easy, apparently. “Don’t we always go to your house man?”
“Yeah well I mean go straight up to my room for an hour until mom gets home.”
“Then homework!” Okuyasu said as he placed his arm around Josuke’s waist. “Promise me you’ll actually let me study today!”
“Ah man you square. You tellin’ me you’d rather stare at a book then this face?”
Okuyasu pinched Josuke’s side and he yelped. “You won't like me so much if I flunk outta school and can't keep you in hair spray and mousse.”
“Man shut up!”
So, the plan had been for them to go out on a date before the rapidly approaching and somewhat dreaded outing with Yukako and Koichi. But they were two young guys with a shit ton of homework and a shit ton of chores and no fucking money. Every time they got together they just did what they always did. Played video games at Josuke’s house, and sometimes at the arcade. Maybe grab some coffee or sandwiches or snag something from Tonio’s and then go back home and watch movies. They both agreed those didn’t count as dates. They didn’t feel special enough. And they hadn't been lying to Yukako when they said they were busy. Josuke ended up wrist deep in mulch and Okuyasu had another cavity and had to get all the shots he had missed growing up in one day. Turns out, there was stuff Tonio’s food couldn’t fix (even though that he worked out all the gut busting, eye deflating, skin shedding kinks).
“They gave me Sailor Moon Band-Aids.” Okuyasu said, Sunday evening. That coming Saturday was their double date and they knew they had run out of time. “Do I look like an 8 year old girl?”
Josuke was quiet as he ran his fingers up and down the Band-Aids. They were sitting on the edge of Josuke’s bed and Okuyasu had been trying to put his shirt on and go home for the past half hour. Josuke was acting even more affectionate then usual since Okuyasu and Tomoko had gotten back from the doctors. He pretty much carried Okuyasu up to his room so he could wrap himself around the other boy.
“They shoulda at least gave you Dragon Ball.” Josuke said, kissing Okuyasu’s arm. He wouldn’t say what was up with him and Okuyasu had already asked three times. He wondered if Josuke was worried about him. It felt so weird to have someone fussing over him. Okuyasu hadn't really known how to react when Tomoko called the doctor two minutes after she overheard Okuyasu tell Josuke he hadn't been in years. And he hadn't known what to say when she sat in the waiting rooms with him today and bought him ice cream after. Okuyasu just didn’t know what to do with this kindness. It made his head spin. “So I talked to Koichi today. Yukako has reservations for us at Tonio’s at 7 on Saturday.”
“Well at least the food’ll be good right?” Okuyasu chuckled but Josuke wasn’t smiling. He cupped Okuyasu’s cheek with his hand and made him look him right in the eye. Okuyasu gulped. Anyone would be nervous under such pretty, so-dark-blue-they-were-almost-purple eyes.
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah man? Why wouldn’t I be?” Okuyasu took very crafty advantage of their closeness and kissed Josuke. He felt like they had barely made out today.
Josuke kissed him back but he pulled away too soon. It always felt too soon because Okuyasu wanted to kiss Josuke forever and ever. “I just can’t believe Keicho never took you to the doctors, dude.”
Okuyasu suddenly felt very uncomfortable, like he always did whenever anyone tried to talk to him about his brother or his dad. Okuyasu didn’t like thinking too much about everything that had happened in his life. It overwhelmed him. “He was busy, I guess. I never really got super sick so he didn’t need to take me.”
Josuke just shook his head a little but he didn’t say anything else about it. “Whatever, just get over here and kiss me.”
They had been dating for two weeks so they were starting to get really kinda ok at kissing. And Okuyasu would much rather suck bruises onto Josuke’s neck and chest then have him stare at him all worried and nervous and asking him why Keicho didn’t take care of him like he should have.
“Stay here tonight.” Josuke muttered to him, all mussed hair and pouty lips. Josuke could have asked Okuyasu to rob a bank or steal Rohan’s favorite pen and he’d be hard pressed to say no. “Please. You have clothes here anyway.”
“I don’t know man. We gotta get to school tomorrow and stuff. My old man might be missin me.”
Josuke’s eyes flashed angrily for some reason. “Do it for me, please babe? Baby? Sweetheart?” Josuke switched tactics and instead of begging he was trying to butter Okuyasu up. “You know that I sleep so good when you’re here.”
“Now c’mon, you know that’s a lie.” Okuyasu said, cautiously touching his fingers to Josuke’s mouth. “I literally kicked you out of the bed last night. And you sleep fart.”
Josuke’s eyes flew open and he sat up so fast their heads nearly collided. “I do not!”
Okuyasu laughed and shoved him a little. “How would you know? You totally do!”
“Fine! Then don’t stay over!” Josuke crossed his arms and pouted, the back of his neck cherry red. Okuyasu barely managed to stop laughing at him and kissed the corner of his jaw.
“You know I don’t ever wanna leave you man, you’re my best friend.” Okuyasu still couldn’t get used to calling Josuke his boyfriend. It made him feel like he had to take a giant nervous shit. “As long as you actually get up on time and don’t make me late, I’ll hang here tonight.”
Josuke had a warm, fully furnished house with painted walls and carpet in the bedrooms. Okuyasu sometimes wished he never had to go back to his own home. There was a spare bedroom that Tomoko mentioned all the time but Okuyasu’s gut twisted in guilt when he thought about handing his old man over to the SPW. He owed him a couple more years of care, he guessed.
But I don’t gotta think about anything right now. Nothin about dad or that house. Okuyasu roughly grabbed a still sulky Josuke into his arms and pulled him down into the mountain of pillows that made up the bed. Cause right now I got Josuke and I'm happy.
“I’m not gonna forgive you over that last comment, asshole.” Josuke snapped. He mighta sounded angry but he sure didn’t look it as he rested his head on Okuyasu’s arm. His arm would fall asleep in about five minutes but they’d be a nice five minutes. “Just for that, I aint buyin your ice cream tomorrow.”
“Then you don’t get any of my lunch!”
“Aw that’s too harsh.” Okuyasu couldn’t really get over the way Josuke had been looking at him lately. His eyes got all soft and sleepy. He wasn’t even pissed off any more. Okuyasu guessed he had somehow become one of Josuke’s weak spots, right alongside designer socks and his hair.
The week flew by. The most eventful thing that happened when was some two bit, low rate punk with a shitty limp pompadour and his crew tried to mess with Okuyasu. They never really said the reason for it. Okuyasu guessed it was due to the whole “datin a dude” thing which he kept forgetting was even an issue at all cause he was too busy being blinded by Josuke’s beauty. He didn’t even need to consider using the Hand. He decked them all by himself and made it out without a scratch. It had been a while since he got into a good old fashioned fist fight, but it was probably for the best he didn’t need to go around and kick people’s asses anymore.
Other than that weird skirmish things were pretty chill. Really, Okuyasu looked forward to every day because he got to be with Josuke. Growing up, he’d always been jealous of the couples he saw on tv and on the streets. They always looked so damn happy, and they were never alone. Getting to date Josuke was a dream come true and there was no way he was fucking it up.
So this stupid fuckin double date better go good. Okuyasu was holed up in his bathroom, fixing up the sides of his head. He didn’t really get why he was nervous. He and Josuke had already confessed to each other and all that. They had made out, like, a shit ton and Okuyasu had felt up his chest which meant he had touched his nipples. He shouldn’t be nervous about going out to eat with the guy after all that! And they were going to Tonio’s of all places! Tonio was like the comforting, kind uncle Okuyasu never had.
But he was super anxious. He felt like if he messed this up he’d ruin everything. Maybe Yukako talking about how they had to get a good establishing on their relationship had gotten to him. Because right now he had no idea what he was gonna wear and shit, did he even have anything to wear?
Okuyasu’s house was big. It had probably been real swanky one day, long ago, before it turned to shit. After Keicho died Josuke fixed up all the holes he had made and while that kept the roof from caving in it didn’t fix the fact the plumbing was broken and only three rooms had working electricity. Okuyasu had wondered if he’d even be able to live in the house or if he’d be better off buming it on the streets when a few days after he had met Josuke, a team of men in white uniforms swarmed the house. They were from the Speedwagon Foundation. That’s what they told Okuyasu as they fixed up everything and installed new pipes and floorboards. They didn’t answer any other questions, but Okuyasu knew that Josuke must have told Jotaro what kinda squalor he was living in. Jotaro probably organized the whole thing, and handpicked the men because they didn’t even question what the hell was up with Okuyasu’s dad. Okuyasu had tried refusing their help, and he had been so confused about it for a few days afterword.
So even though the house was livable and clean, it was empty. Okuyasu just used a space heater and a fan to save money, and never turned the lights on in any of the other rooms because only four got use. The kitchen, the bathroom, Okuyasu’s bedroom, and the family room which was where Mr. Nijimura and Stray Cat lived. But there were some boxes, here and there, from their old lives.
“I don’t have shit.” Okuyasu mumbled to himself as he tore through his closet. Josuke was the fashionista, not him. He only had the basics, and nothing fancy enough to wear on a date. Nothing that Yukako would approve of and nothing that would make Josuke’s neck do that thing where it went red all the way around and down to his collarbones. He wanted to look cool dammit! Another thrifted plaid shirt wasn’t gonna do the trick.
Suddenly, Okuyasu remembered a particular box that was in the room next to his. He didn’t really know if it was ok to be going through Keicho’s old clothes for his gay date with a guy but he was kinda outta options. He didn’t really think Keicho would mind. He’d probably be too surprised that Okuyasu managed to get a date (even if it was a dude) to notice. They’d never had much. All of Keicho’s possessions fit into three boxes. A lot of it was old movies and video games that Okuyasu pilfered through regularly. He managed to find a button down and a nice sport jacket buried under a shit ton of acid wash denim. It still smelled way too much like Keicho so Okuyasu doused it in what was most likely an overload of cologne.
The doorbell rang just as Okuyasu finished putting on his shoes. His heart did that thing, which felt like what a harp sounded like or what a rainbow looked like and he pretty much skipped over to the door. For once, he was kinda glad there was no one else in the house to laugh at him anymore.
“Hey babe,” Josuke was leaning against the the wall in a way that should have pissed Okuyasu off with how corny it was but it just made him gooey. “Oh wow, you look really nice.” Josuke looked him up and down and it was a little pervy, but Okuyasu liked it. “You normally look good but you’re all dressed up! Like a movie star.”
“Yeah?” Okuyasu said a bit absentmindedly as he grabbed the other boy by his hips and pulled him closer. Touching Josuke like that always gave him such a rush but he was pretty damn irresistible right now in what had to be brand spanking new clothes. “And you’re so fucking hot.”
Josuke giggled and kissed his top lip. Okuyasu was entirely addicted to Josuke’s soft mouth. He’d spent a lot of time fantasizing about what it feel like and taste like and it was better than he could have imagined. So he couldn’t let him pull away so quickly. Careful to not mess up his hair, Okuyasu cradled the back of his head and pressed him closer, angling his mouth so he could kiss him real deep.
“Hey man,” Josuke said. He only pulled back enough to talk. His nose and lips were still touching Okuyasu’s which was making it hard for him to listen. “If we start doin’ this we’re gonna be real late.”
“And then Yukako will kill us.” Okuyasu agreed and sadly let the other guy go. “You’ll make it up to me tonight, right?”
Josuke looked down at his hundred dollar shoes. He was being bashful for no reason and it was really cute. “Yeah, definitely.” His eyes were half closed when he looked back at Okuyasu. Okuyasu wondered if he could get away with taking a picture of Josuke when he was like this. He didn’t wanna forget about it. “So, I uh, just told my mom about us dating.”
Okuyasu suddenly felt nervous. He really liked Tomoko. He hoped she was cool with them. “Yeah, and?”
Josuke sighed dramatically. “She knew dude! She already knew! She was just waitin for me to come out, I guess.”
“So she’s ok with it?”
Josuke nodded. “Yeah, super cool. She loves you, man. She’d probably be upset if we weren’t together, y’know? And she also said you can keep sleepin over in my room.”
Okuyasu perked super fast at that. “What? Really!?”
Josuke suddenly got really red. “Yeah she…uh…man she really embarrassed me but she said that if we were gonna do stuff, like sex stuff, we’d do it anyway even if she didn’t let you stay in my room. So she said she’d rather us be somewhere safe then like I guess out in an alley somewhere.”
“Oh, oh.” Okuyasu mumbled. He felt just as awkward suddenly. “That’s good then, I guess.”
“Well yeah. I love sleepin with you man.” Josuke looked up at the sky so their eyes wouldn’t meet and Okuyasu’s neck started getting sweaty. “So we’re takin your bike right?”
“Hell yeah!” Okuyasu said, wrapping his arm around Josuke’s waist. “But you’re riding bitch.”
After he had destroyed his old bike a while ago Okuyasu had very painfully withdrew just enough from his lottery winnings to get an even cheaper, secondhand one. But with some new parts, tlc and Crazy Diamond it was more than workable. Josuke slid up way closer than necessary behind him as they got on and stole a quick kiss from the back of his neck.
“Don’t make me crash this thing.” Okuyasu said, pulling his helmet on. Josuke would actually rather end up smeared on the pavement then put one on. “I don’t wanna die a virgin.”
“Well you won't if I have anything to say about it.” Josuke said slyly, holding on around Okuyasu’s middle a little too tightly.
It was a short ride to Tonio’s and he was pleased as always to see them. “Ah! My two favorite customers!” He exclaimed as they walked in. Their normal table was now crowded with two extra chairs. It almost felt like an invasion. “First time you’ve come for dinner though.” Tonio added as they sat down. “And it’s a special night isn’t it? A date?” Tonio winked. Like everyone else, he hadn't been surprised when he found out about Okuyasu and Josuke. Okuyasu found it funny, but Josuke was annoyed for being so “obvious”. “So how about some wine on the house to celebrate?”
“Ahh, Tonio.” Okuyasu said, glancing at Josuke. “We’re underage, won’t you get in trouble?”
“Japan is so strange with their drinking laws.” Tonio mused, grabbing two very big wine glasses. “In Italy children start having drinks with dinner when they’re 12! But this is red wine. One glass a day is good for the heart.”
“Hey, free booze.” Josuke shrugged. “I’m not complaining. Bring it on, T-Man!”
Tonio smiled and filled up their glasses. “I’ll pour Yukako and Koichi some as well.”
“There’s no way Koichi’s ever drank anything!” Okuyasu snorted, already digging into the bread. “Maybe one thing of New Years sake. Maybe.”
Tonio nodded solemnly and took Josuke’s hand. Tonio had much better control of Pearl Jam now. His Stand was able to help people without causing their bodies to blow up first, but he still needed to examine their hands to see what was up. “Josuke…you’re as healthy as a young buck as usual. Just a slight backache and some dandruff.” Josuke shrieked. “I’ll just whip you something up for your basic health needs. And Okuyasu,” Tonio switched to him. “You get healthier every time I see you! You have a pulled muscle in your leg and you’ve had a migraine this week. I’ll fix you right up.” Tonio patted Okuyasu’s head fondly. Tonio really did treat Okuyasu like he was his favorite nephew and it always made Okuyasu very happy.
Tonio disappeared into the kitchen and Josuke held up his glass. “Think dinner will be free too?”
“Here’s hoping!” Okuyasu agreed, clinking their glasses together. Before he could even take a sip, Josuke leaned past his glass and laid a big, wet one on him. Okuyasu managed to not drop his wine in surprise and kissed him back.
“That might tide me over till this date is done and I can get you alone.” Josuke smirked as he pulled back. “Maybe.”
Yukako and Koichi showed up right on time. Koichi was never late. Okuyasu steeled himself. He was never quite sure how to act around Yukako. He wasn’t really afraid of her, not totally but he didn’t like the icy, judgy feeling of her eyes on him. But he forgot all about that when he saw who was tagging along.
“Mikitaka?!” Okuyasu and Josuke exclaimed at the same time.
The alien (?) waved to them. “Hello friends.”
“What're you doin here?” Josuke asked as Koichi pulled Yukako’s chair out for her. Shit, I shoulda done that for Josuke! Okuyasu thought as Mikitaka peered curiously around with his unsettling green eyes.
“Welllllll,” Koichi said as Yukako scowled so darkly Okuyasu felt like all the forks and knives would start curling. “We ran into him at the bus stop and got to talking and one thing led to another and he wanted to come. He wants to…uh…”
“From my observations on this town, and using it as a control in my hypothesis, it appears that 85 percent of the human population engages in what could be described as ‘romantic relationships’. Since I have decided to remain here, on earth, and exist as a ‘human’, partaking in one of these companionships would surely add to the experience.” Mikitaka said in his odd, very articulated voice. “Therefore, I decided that observing an act of human courtship would be beneficial to me.”
Mikitaka was always asking weird questions and doing weird shit in the name of “studying” so Okuyasu was used to his behavior. This was on a whole new level though.
“So yeah, kinda hard to say no to this guy.” Koichi said weakly.
Okuyasu and Josuke glanced at each other and activated their boyfriend/best friend telepathy. What do you think man? You ok with this? Josuke tilted his head over at Mikitaka. He doesn’t look like he’s gonna leave.
It’s whatever to me. Not like he’s really crashin or anything. It’s already a crowd. Okuyasu smiled at the alien as he grabbed the chair from the other table and sat beside him. Whatever, let’s just hope Yukako doesn’t try to choke him to death.
Tonio reemerged from the kitchen a few minutes later with Josuke and Okuyasu’s appetizers. He took Koichi and Yukako’s hands after welcoming them. Koichi’s allergies were acting up and Yukako hadn’t slept good last night. Tonio turned to Mikitaka to do his ritual and the chef’s eyes got very, very big.
“I…uh…I don’t believe we’ve talked very much before, have we Mikitaka?”
“Just once.” Mikitaka said slowly. “I’m a ‘Stood’ user, perhaps, just like you!”
Tonio dropped his hand quickly. “Yes yes, just like me. I’ll uh, let me get right back to the kitchen.”
Everyone stared at Mikitaka who just grinned. “He is a very pleasant man. I like him!”
“Guess your biology is a little different from what he’s used to.” Josuke snorted into his wine glass. “Don’t you have like, four stomachs?”
“Josuke that is not dinner conversation.” Yukako said firmly just as Mikitaka said much louder “Actually I have but one, but I do have an extra…what you call ‘the liver’.”
Okuyasu and Josuke tried very hard not to laugh at the way Koichi looked up at the ceiling like he was wondering if he could fly away on Echoes, and at how Yukako seemed to be planning murder. “Mikitaka, we discussed this on the way here. No talk of extra or lacking organs.”
Mikitaka shot finger guns at her. “Got it.”
Tonio came back with the appetizers once more. Koichi got soup, while Mikitaka and Yukako had matching salads. Okuyasu supposed Tonio might have just given up with trying to make a menu for Mikitaka. Okuyasu still wasn’t a hundred percent convinced that meant he was an alien. Maybe he just had a super scary spleen.
“So now, Okuyasu, Josuke.” Yukako said turning her gaze to them. “Conversation is the most important part of any date. There are things you talk about on normal days and during school, and things you talk about on dates. What do you two normally discuss?”
“Well I mean when we’re alone we don’t really talk that much anymore.” Josuke said, winking. Koichi rolled his eyes and Mikitaka took out a notebook. “Just kiddin’, just kiddin Yukako! Please don’t activate Love Deluxe it’ll ruin my cheese.” Josuke added. He looked at Okuyasu and rested his hand on his knee under the table. Okuyasu held onto it without even thinking about it. “What do we talk about?”
“I don’t know? Video games? Movies? We complain a lot about school. We talk shit about Rohan, you know, normal stuff.” Okuyasu shrugged. “I don’t know, we talk a lot.”
“So on a date, you should stay away from those things and talk about softer and sweeter topics.” Yukako said pleasantly. “See, me and Koichi discuss things like you do in school and when we’re doing homework, but on dates we like to talk about the future, and us.”
“Dude, really?” Okuyasu asked Koichi. Josuke’s nose was up in disgust while Mikitaka was furiously taking notes.
“I mean, kinda. Like the other night we were planning out our trip this winter. Yukako’s coming with me and my family out to the country to celebrate New Years with my grandparents so we were talking about what shops we’d visit and like what presents we might get for each other.” Koichi was blushing now and rubbing at the back of his head. “I mean, it is kinda nice to talk about stuff like that, I guess.”
Okuyasu and Josuke looked at each other. Are we that gross to look at? Okuyasu wondered as Yukako and Koichi touched noses. I hope not! “I don’t know dude, me and Okuyasu aren’t deep like that.”
“Yeah but you know what would be cool?” Okuyasu said, steeling a tomato of Josuke’s plate. “If your old man invited us to America for Christmas. Doesn’t he live in New York City? The big orange!”
“Ah man that be so cool!” Josuke exclaimed. “Geez, that old fart is loaded! You know, when he dies I’m gonna buy you a really fucking cool motorcycle. And like, a real leather jacket and all that shit.”
“Josuke!” Koichi said. “You shouldn’t talk about Mr. Joestar dying like that!”
“I don’t know, darling.” Yukako said, resting her chin on her hand. “I think it’s sweet that Josuke’s first thoughts were to buy things for his impoverished boyfriend.”
Josuke squeezed Okuyasu’s knee tightly and it kept him from swiping at Yukako. Just barely though.
They managed to finish their appetizers and get into their entrees without any other issues. Things were actually going smoothly! They talked about the “future”, even though Okuyasu wasn’t taking it serious and neither was Josuke. They planned out a really elaborate and cushy lifestyle with Old Man Joestars money. Okuyasu didn’t even mind the idea of Josuke becoming his sugar daddy.
It wasn’t until they were halfway through their entrees when Mikitaka decided to make things weird.
“So, in my observations.” Mikitaka patted his mouth politely. At least he wasn’t eating the napkin. “It appears that in most cases human courtship is a prelude to sexual reproduction. You pass on your genetic information through intercourse and produce offspring, correct?”
Koichi glanced at his soup like he could swim away in it. Okuyasu started to laugh nervously and glanced at Yukako, wondering when she was gonna blow up and if there’d be a Stand battle inside Tonio’s very tastefully decorated restaurant. Okuyasu and Josuke would probably have to defend Mikitaka if it came down to it. Maybe he could turn into a gun?
“Um, yeah?” Josuke was the only one together enough to answer him. “Yeah, I guess that’s how it works.”
“Ok so, and correct me if I’m wrong, but both you and Mr. Okuyasu have what is traditionally referred to as male genitalia? Though from my studies I know that the genitals do not always correspond~”
“Ahh!” Okuyasu reached over and covered Mikitaka’s mouth. “Ok, ok we get it!”
Mikitaka gently moved his hand away. “So if I am hearing you correctly you both have penises?”
Tonio, who had been halfway out the door to check on them turned back around and left. Josuke snorted and wine shot out of his nose and Yukako’s face started to get veiny. Mikitaka was staring imploringly at Okuyasu and even though he was asking weird questions about his junk he said it all so scientifically Okuyasu couldn’t muster the urge to punch him. “Yes, Mikitaka.”
“Ah! So then you will not be able to replicate your DNA materials with each other.” Okuyasu nodded. He understood about half of what the alien was saying. Mikitaka hummed thoughtfully. “Then why do you engage in such a tiring ritual if you are unable to reproduce?”
Josuke and Okuyasu looked at each other. It was a weird question they didn’t really think they’d ever be asked. “Because we like each other.” Josuke said simply and Okuyasu felt nervous and bubbly all of the sudden. “People don’t date just to have kids around here Taka. They do it, we do it cause when you really, really like someone, like romantically, you wanna be with them in a way that’s different from being friends. I like you, but not the same way I like Okuyasu, you get it?”
“You do not attempt intercourse with me at school like you do with Mr. Okuyasu yes.” Mikitaka nodded, understanding nothing. “So even though you cannot have biological children do you still experience sexual urges? Have you attempted copulation? And if you have would you mind explaining the details~”
“That’s it!” Yukako got to her feet and slammed her hands on the table. Mikitaka would have been cocooned in a hair tornado if Koichi didn’t grab Yukako’s arm.
“We’re gonna step outside for a bit!” Koichi yelled as he dragged Yukako out of the building. “Get some fresh air and all that!” Yukako grabbed onto the doorframe, her fingernails digging in. “Haha, c’mon Yukako the dates not ruined yet!” Koichi gave a massive tug and managed to get her outside. The door slammed shut.
Okuyasu took a long sip of his wine. It was the only way to react to all this. “I uh~” Josuke was blisteringly red. Okuyasu bet he could fry some sausage on his face. “I’m, I’m gonna go run to the bathroom.”
Josuke did actually run away and tripped over his own feet. Not that Okuyasu wasn’t flustered, he was just better at hiding it. Because of course he was having all kinds of barely controllable sexual urges! All about Josuke! Every minute they were all up in each other Okuyasu was hard. And he thought about having sex with him probably too much, even though every time he did he got so nervous he felt like puking. He really didn’t need Mikitaka to bring this all up over his meatballs.
“Did I say something wrong?” Mikitaka asked innocently.
Okuyasu groaned. If I ever find out that this whole ‘alien’ thing is a prank, I’m deckin’ this guy. “You don’t talk about that shit in public man! It makes people uncomfortable. You can't just go around talkin’ about dicks and people havin sex. Especially not in front of a chick like Yukako.”
“Ah, I understand.” He snapped his fingers. “Like how you shouldn’t discuss the culling of dolphins at seafood restaurants. Every conversation has a time and place.” Mikitaka took a big bite of his chicken before going on. “So what are these romantic and sexual urges of which we speak?”
“Oh man, c’mon, don’t make me talk about this.” Okuyasu mumbled. “It’s embarrassing!”
“I just don’t know how you would tell the difference between a friendship, and a romance.” Mikitaka gently pressed.
Okuyasu sighed. It looked like no one was coming back into the room any time soon so he decided to try to help Mikitaka out so he’d stop asking these questions and maybe they could get to desert without any aliencide. “It’s like…you kiss the people you date. Like you wanna kiss them all the time and you wanna be super close to them. And it feels really good when you do it.” Okuyasu waved his hands around. He really didn’t think he was doing a good job explaining this. It wasn’t like he was a poet or some bullshit. “Like, you feel this pull, like a fishhook in your heart and your stomach and it connects you to them and it drags you towards them. That’s how I’ve felt about Josuke since I met him.” Okuyasu looked down at his empty wine glass, feeling kinda vulnerable. “I love him a lot. So much it makes my chest hurt. That’s when you know it’s a romance. Cause its painful.”
Mikitaka seemed to be writing down everything Okuyasu was saying and it made him feel weird. Well, if Mikitaka wanted to learn what true love was by studying Okuyasu and Josuke, he guessed it was ok. “I do wonder what it would be like to kiss someone. If I would experience these emotions of which you speak.”
“Well, you gotta go find someone to date then!” Okuyasu said, feeling like maybe this nightmare of a conversation was over. He wondered if Josuke would ever come back from the bathroom or if he had melted by now.
Mikitaka tapped his chin thoughtfully and Okuyasu went back to his food, mopping up the extra sauce with some bread. He started to relax and then Mikitaka just had to start talking again. “How about I kiss you?”
“WHAT?!”
Mikitaka held up his hands. “Not romantically. But friendly. Just so I have some actual field work and experimentation for my studies.”
“But but we aint datin! I can't do that to Josuke!” Okuyasu said hurriedly. “It be cheatin! And he’d get mad and jealous! We’ve only kissed each other!”
“So he’d be upset that you kissed one more person then him.” Mikitaka said slowly. “I understand. What about a very quick kiss?”
“No!”
“On the cheek?”
Why won't Josuke come back already and save me from this? Okuyasu internally whimpered. Ah what the fucking hell. If it will get him to shut up! “Fine! Make it quick! And don’t tell Josuke!”
Mikitaka smiled brightly. He leaned forward, his hair slipping off his shoulder. Okuyasu crossed his arms and scowled as Mikitaka kissed his temple. His lips were cold but they were soft and it might’ve felt nice if Josuke didn’t exist. “Happy?!” Okuyasu said, wiping off the completely dry spot.
“Hm, not really. I do not experience any attraction towards you.”
Okuyasu threw his hands up in the air in defeat. “Well thanks a lot!”
Mikitaka hummed a little. “Not due to any lacking physical or emotional qualities. You are simply ‘not my type’.”
It was just then that Josuke finally emerged from the bathroom. His ears were pink and he definitely had been busy splashing himself with freezing water. Okuyasu immediately felt guilty and stared down at his hands.
“Hey,” Josuke said warily, almost cautiously coming back to the table like it had become a bomb.
“Hello Mr. Josuke!” Mikitaka said cheerfully, getting to his feet. “Mr. Okuyasu allowed me to kiss him in order to experiment with the human emotion called ‘love’, but he felt poorly about being kissed by more people than you.”
Alright, it looked like it was time for Mikitaka to experience his first, old fashioned, welcome-to-earth punch in the nose. Josuke cocked his head, looking kinda like a confused dog. “What?”
Okuyasu went to speak to try to explain the insanity that was going on but Mikitaka got there before him. “It was my fault, of course. I am insatiable in my curiosity. Therefore, I will make it even so that there are no sore feelings between you two.”
Mikitaka swiftly moved forward, quicker then Okuyasu had seen anyone move, and kissed Josuke, right by his eye. Josuke froze and his eyes went so wide they were almost a little ugly. Mikitaka nodded firmly. “There. Now you have both been kissed by two people. I must be going now. My foster mother wants me to participate in the earthly ritual of the ‘hot pot’.”
“But you just ate!” Okuyasu just barely managed to blurt out while Josuke continued to stare blankly at the wall.
Mikitaka waved as he collected his bag and disappeared out of the front door. Josuke and Okuyasu stared at each other for a while, hearing Yukako’s yelling from outside the restaurant, and they both cracked up.
“What the fuck was that?” Okuyasu exclaimed, pushing his plate away so he could rest his head on his hands. “Oh my god I can't believe that guy!”
“You ever think Mikitaka knows a lot more then he acts like he does?” Josuke asked, collapsing into Okuyasu’s lap. Okuyasu was startled for just a second and then held onto the other boy’s waist. He guessed everything was cool between them. Josuke laughed, and then groaned. “Askin us if we’ve…what? Copulated?”
Okuyasu giggled and pressed his head against Josuke’s chest. His heart was still going wild. “I don’t even know what that means.”
“Yeah, me neither.” Josuke sighed. “He’s so sneaky. He probably just wanted to steal a kiss from someone. At least he didn’t French us.”
“Yeah, he’ll try that next time.” Okuyasu teased, holding Josuke closer. “You know, he had the balls to kiss me and then tell me he wasn’t actually into me.”
Josuke ran his hands down Okuyasu’s chest and said in a weird voice. “He must be blind then. You’re gorgeous.”
Okuyasu blushed. Josuke was always doing this to him. Any time Okuyasu’s confidence started getting low Josuke said something that suddenly made Okuyasu feel like he was the greatest person in the entire world. Josuke was just so sweet and nice and he was looking at Okuyasu like he was something sparkly. Okuyasu went to kiss him. He looked really good in the low light of the restaurant and he looked nice in the red shirt he was wearing. Red really was his color. And now that they were finally alone, Okuyasu thought it was about time to kiss on his his perfect, thick lips.
“We’re back.” The door swung open and Koichi came in, leading Yukako by her hand. “So Mikitaka went home?”
“And can you two not hump like rabbits for once second?” Yukako added, but she didn’t seem all that annoyed anymore. “I told Mikitaka that if he crashed another date of mine I’d never let him use any of my makeup or braid my hair ever again.”
“Harsh.” Josuke said as he sat down in his own chair. Okuyasu felt deeply disappointed.
Tonio was also disappointed when he came out to collect their dishes. “Has Mikitaka left? But I’ve been working on a desert for him. It’s been my greatest challenge so far, making a meal for someone of his…unique…body type.”
“Wrap it up and we’ll take it to him tomorrow.” Okuyasu said, mostly cause he was curious about what the hell Tonio had made. What kinda desert would an alien like? Something with tentacles? Or jelly?
Now that all the talk about reproduction and genitals had stopped, they were able to finish their entrees and start on the desert. Tonio had only made two, one for each couple to share. Okuyasu was only kinda disappointed he didn’t get to eat all of the gelato and cake. He was used to splitting things with Josuke. Koichi had been really grossed out when he learned Okuyasu and Josuke always got one popcorn and one drink at the movies. Yukako had seemed jealous. Actually, I like doin this in a nice restaurant, with candle light and wearin these fancy clothes and shoes. Josuke was getting red again and Okuyasu realized he was gazing at him. It was probably super gross to look at, but Okuyasu didn’t give a shit and held onto Josuke’s hand. They couldn’t even maintain eye contact, because they kept giggling and it was hard to eat when just holding your boyfriends hand was making you nervous.
The dinner ended without any Stand Battles, or stabbings or screaming. It didn’t end up being free, but Tonio gave them a pretty sweet “best customer” discount. Koichi and Yukako were catching a movie, but the thought of spending any more money made Okuyasu feel faint.
“So that wasn’t too bad.” Josuke said weakly as they hung outside of Tonio’s, wondering what to do now.
“Yeah, coulda been worse.” Okuyasu agreed. It was dark out, and kinda chilly. “You look so nice tonight, dude.”
Jouske kicked at the ground. His eyelashes were so long and thick and they framed his perfect eyes so nicely. “Likewise.” Josuke closed the space between them and kissed his cheek. The same one Mikitaka had but it felt a trillion times better. “Wanna hit the park or something before we head back?”
“Yeah, sounds good.” Okuyasu moved his head just enough so that he could kiss his mouth like he had been dying to for the past hour.
“You taste like wine.” Josuke scrunched up his nose. “It’s kinda nice actually.”
They wrapped their arms around each other’s waist and held as closely as they could. Okuyasu felt weird when Josuke wasn’t on his right side. Like he was missing his favorite limb.
It was 8:30 on a Saturday night, dark and getting chilly. So the park was deserted. It was nice though, having it all to themselves. There were even a few fireflies left over from the summer and the moon was big, and pretty. This is actually kinda romantic. Okuyasu thought, looking at Josuke from the corner of his eye. Wonder if that’s why he asked me to walk with him.
“Hey, you’re shivering.” Okuyasu noticed. “You cold?”
“A little.” Josuke admitted, sounding put out by the fact. “I didn’t wanna bring a coat, cause it cover up my sweet ensemble.”
Okuyasu snorted. Josuke really was gonna die one day just cause he wouldn’t compromise his style. Okuyasu unbuttoned his coat and held it open. “Here.”
Josuke looked him up and down before wincing. “Aw man no that’s embarrassing!” Josuke said, throwing his hands up. “I mean it’s ok out. I’m a tough guy; I can deal with a breeze.” Okuyasu shrugged but did not button back up. They almost made it to the fountain before Josuke’s chattering was given them both a headache and he finally gave a dramatic sigh. “Ok, fine, whatever.”
Okuyasu grinned as Josuke huddled against his chest, arms going around his waist. He wrapped the coat around them both and hugged Josuke tight. “See? Better.”
They were nose to nose and the park was empty. Okuyasu kissed him again. “Yeah. God you’re warm. You’re so warm and solid. Know what I mean? Like…I dunno. You’re steady. You’re comforting, man.”
“I get you, gorgeous.” Their noses touched and Josuke pushed until they were leaning against the trunk of some random tree. “I feel the same way about you.” Okuyasu wanted to put all of his feelings into words. He wanted Josuke to know that he was his fucking sun, and his safe place and his best friend and his favorite person. But the way his eyes were half closed and how his nose turned and how he was gently biting his lip made Okuyasu so tongue tied all he could do was lean down and start kissing his neck.
“Hey, hey,” Josuke said, his voice throaty and thick. “What’re you doin?”
“Can’t help it.” Okuyasu said, biting his ear. It was the truth. Okuyasu had always been really bad at expressing himself with words. It’s why he had gotten into so many fights. It’s why he didn’t have any friends until Morioh town. “I like you so much.”
Josuke laughed softly. He was being shy again, which Okuyasu never understood. He was normally so confident, Okuyasu wondered what he was doing to make Josuke melt like this.
Okuyasu found his mouth again, and was just able to slip him some tongue he heard someone groan.
“Oh no.”
Okuyasu and Josuke pulled away, only enough though to look at who was talking. Okuyasu felt the other boy tense up once they saw it was Rohan, holding onto an easel and canvas bag and looking like he had just seen road kill. They hadn't seen him in weeks. According to Koichi he had a double spread color issue coming up, and had shut himself away to “perfect” it.
“What? What do you want?” Josuke said, his lip curling. He probably did not look too threatening hiding in Okuyasu’s coat.
Rohan sniffed. “This is going to be assaulting my eyes from now on, isn’t it?”
“Huh?! You got a problem with us!?” Josuke let go of Okuyasu and tried to get in Rohans face. Okuyasu held him back by his arm.
“Yes, but not for the reason you think.” Rohan sniffed. “Romance is nauseating. I refuse to have anything to do with it and seeing so obviously displayed is displeasing to me. You are already far too disrupting to my creative process. I cannot imagine how annoying you will be now that I have to see you being demonstrative all over town.” Rohan looked over Josuke’s shoulder. “Okuyasu, I expected better from you.”
“…what man?”
“Well now that we know how gross you think we are, we’ll be sure to make out whenever you see us.” Josuke sneered. “C’mon babe,” Josuke drew out the word and Rohan shuddered. “Let’s go home and feel each other up.”
Rohan honestly looked like he was about to die just to escape this situation. Okuyasu and Josuke cackled as Rohan put his nose up in the air and strode past them, nearly whacking Josuke with his easel.
Once he was out of eyesight Josuke yelled. “Wait…he wasn’t even surprised that we’re datin!”
“He probably already heard about it, don’t mind that asshole.” Okuyasu said. “Don’t you wanna get back to what we were doin?”
“I’d rather continue somewhere private, babe.” Josuke said, and pressed his head against Okuyasu’s shoulder. “Stay over man.”
Josuke was fucking up his hair to nuzzle Okuyasu like this. It was shocking. “I wanna but like I stayed over last night. I don’t like leaving my dad alone for too long.” Josuke pouted and Okuyasu poked his cheek. “Why don’t you just sleep at my house?”
Josuke perked right up. “Yeah! Let’s go home then.” Josuke threw his arms around Okuyasu happily but Okuyasu hadn't been ready for it. He was too excited to be holding onto such a beautiful guy he lost his balance and the two of them toppled onto the grass. It didn’t stop them from kissing though. At this point, a nuclear bomb going off in the background wouldn’t separate them.
“Stars are nice tonight.” Josuke said, kinda spacey, “But not as nice as you.”
The only reason they did stop and got off of each other was the fact that a soft bed in a room that locked was waiting for them. They hurried back to Tonios to grab Okuyasu’s bike and he broke all kinds of speeding laws getting back to their neighborhood. Josuke had to stop by his house first to grab some his toothbrush and shit so Okuyasu went on ahead. Okuyasu realized this would be the very first time Josuke stayed at the Nijimura house. Okuyasu never had to bring an overnight bag to Josuke’s. He had so much stuff stuffed into Josuke’s drawers and in his bathroom and hidden all over the house.
“Hey Dad!” He called, kicking off his shoes. “I’m home!”
He wandered into the kitchen and gathered up some food. He always cooked too much dinner and had most of it in the fridge for later. He tied his apron on as he tossed the leftovers into a frying pan. He didn’t wanna fuck up the shirt too much. He’d leave that to Josuke. After he felt like it was reheated enough he piled it onto a plate and went into his Mr. Nijimura’s room. He had set his dad up with a tv, some books and few other knick knacks to keep him busy. Stray Cat was batting around a ball, flinging dirt everywhere. Okuyasu just sighed. I’ll gotta clean that shit up later. Mr. Nijimura had been watching tv, but lumbered over to Okuyasu once he heard him. Okuyasu kneeled down, and his old man made a noise that meant he was happy and touched his sons’ cheek. Okuyasu had gotten used to the cold, clammy feeling of his dads hands by now, but it still hurt every time. Okuyasu had barely known his dad before this happened. And his memories of that time were terrible and fuzzy.
“Hey, Dad.” Okuyasu said, watching him inhale his food. “I haven’t really had time to talk to you yet.” That was a huge lie. “You know Josuke, right?” His dad’s ears perked up. He liked Josuke because even though Okuyasu knew Josuke hated his old man he still brought him rice cakes. Josuke knew that Okuyasu still cared. It’s so hard sometimes though. Okuyasu touched the scars on his face and swallowed past a nasty lump. “I’m in love with him. We’re datin now, too.” His father didn’t seem to understand. It didn’t matter, Okuyasu was still happy he told him. “I love him so much Dad, it makes my chest hurt. I wish you could give me some advice, but it’s ok.”
“Hey!” The front door slammed open and Okuyasu jumped up. He was always excited to see Josuke, yeah, but it had been like twenty fucking minutes. Was that sad? Kinda. Yes.
“I’m in here!” He yelled back and he heard Josuke drop what sounded like a big ass overnight bag. Okuyasu knew it was filled with mostly hair products. Josuke stuck his head in and Okuyasu’s father immediately shuffled over to him, holding his hands out.
“Yeah yeah, I didn’t forget, Mr. Nijimura.” Josuke handed him the rice cakes and then immediately wrapped his arms around Okuyasu and kissed him.
“Dude! My Dad’s right there!” Okuyasu said, pushing him away. But Mr. Nijimura was too busy scarfing down his food to notice.
“C’mon babe,” Josuke said, cocking an eyebrow. “He likes me right? I don’t know if he really understands, but I think he’d approve. He’d want you to be happy, yeah?” Okuyasu blinked. He didn’t really know what his dad would want for him if he was still normal. “And besides, you look so good in that apron.” Okuyasu couldn’t focus suddenly. Josuke always made his brain go kaput. “You been cookin?”
“Nah I just heated up some leftovers for him.” Okuyasu managed to move him and Josuke into the kitchen. Even if his dad didn’t know what they were doing, it still felt wrong to do it in front of him. “Why? You already hungry?”
“Nah but you’re such a good cook. I’d eat some more.” Josuke nuzzled his neck. “You could have your own restaurant. Like Tonio!”
Okuyasu rubbed at the back of his head. “I don’t know about that dude.”
Josuke just held him tighter. “I believe in you.”
Okuyasu felt like a balloon about to pop. Josuke made him really emotional sometimes. So he kissed him so he could wriggle away and to pour the tea he had started. “Anyway, what your mom say?”
“She was kinda surprised. I’ve never stayed over here before.” Josuke looked up from the steaming mug Okuyasu set in front of him. “All she knows is your dad is sick, and ‘bedridden’. She probably thinks I wanted to stay here since we’re basically unsupervised.”
Okuyasu blushed and busied himself with his own cup. “Yeah, what you tell her?”
“Well, I'm an honest guy. I kinda like thinkin about being alone with you in this big house.” Josuke had a dirty little smile on his smug face and Okuyasu almost spilled his tea down his shirt.
“Yeah? What she say to that?”
“She just sorta sighed and said that at least she wouldn’t be a grandma any time soon.”
Okuyasu laughed nervously. “That’s true.” He sat down at the table across from Josuke, rolling the mug in-between his hands. He and Josuke had just strictly been kissing this whole time. It had been enough for both of them but dammit Okuyasu had this ache in his stomach. Like he was hungry but nothing he did satisfied it. And yeah, he couldn’t stop thinking about Josuke in all the ways he hadn't let himself before they became official. What Josuke would look like naked, what Josuke would feel like naked, what he would even sound like. But one of them always chickened out when they were kissing and Okuyasu had had blue balls for almost a month. It wasn’t like Okuyasu had ever had anyone to talk to about this stuff! Keicho probably would have just laughed at him for even thinking about it. But Josuke was the only thing Okuyasu wanted right now and from the way Josuke was looking at him, he guessed the feeling was mutual.
“I really, really like you.” Okuyasu blurted out. He wanted to tell him he was in love, but he didn’t wanna scare him off. He’d wait a bit longer to drop that bomb.
Josuke looked down at his drink shyly. “I like you so much.” He took a deep, shaky breath. “Y-you wanna head upstairs? Cause if I just sit here and stare at you any longer I think I’m gonna go insane or explode or somethin man.”
Okuyasu felt weak. Josuke was probably in love too, right? “Well I don’t wanna clean that up so let’s go.” Okuyasu grabbed Josuke’s night bag for him, because he was a gentleman. He was horrified by how heavy it was though. It even made him, with all his muscles, stumble. “Is this all hair shit?”
“Hey man, I got a change of clothes in there, change of shoes…my toothbrush.”
“It is all hair shit then.” Okuyasu said, lugging it over his shoulder.
Josuke hadn't been over much, but he knew his way around. He pretty much lead Okuyasu by his hand and as soon as the door shut pushed him up against the wall. Not hard though. Never hard enough to ever hurt the other boy. “I’ve been waitin to get my hands on you all night.” Josuke said, caging him in. Not like he needed to. Why the hell would Okuyasu ever leave? “Like I don’t know what it is, maybe the cut of your jacket, but I’ve been extra into you tonight.” Josuke chuckled. “Which I thought was sorta impossible since I’m so into you.”
“Shut up and kiss me already.” Okuyasu said mostly cause he felt so nervous he was dizzy.
Josuke smiled and slowly, like painfully slowly, slid his bottom lip in-between Okuyasu’s. They kissed gently, arms going around each other until there was barely any space between them. They stayed like that for a little while. It was the quietest they could be together, and Okuyasu felt like jelly in his arms. Okuyasu kissed a bit harder, letting his tongue touch his lips. Josuke made this noise, like a moan or a gasp and suddenly his fingernails were in Okuyasu’s arm. He isn’t fair. He’s so hot it isn’t fair. Josuke sometimes called him “suave”, but that wasn’t right at all. Okuyasu just acted without thinking, and acted on every little impulse he felt when it came to him. He had been thinking about it all too much and waiting long enough. He tilted Josuke’s head back by his chin because he wanted more of his throat to touch and Josuke groaned.
“What fuck is that?! Where’d you learn to be so…so I don’t know!?”
“I just wanna be with you.”
Josuke made a face Okuyasu couldn’t name. Okuyasu was confused. Was he upset? Okuyasu was still just as clueless as him about all of this and oh wow…
Josuke grabbed him and kissed him hard. Harder than Okuyasu thinks they had ever kissed before. Not like he had been keeping close track or anything but the way Josuke was touching him felt different. Okuyasu cupped Josukes face with one hand to keep it still so he could kiss him at just the right angle. It was a gross kiss, loud and with a lot of spit and tongue. The best kind, in Okuyasu’s opinion.
Okuyasu help back a yelp as Josuke suddenly picked him up around his waist. He carried him over to his dresser and set him down. There was a weird look in his eyes. They were black, and burning as he pushed Okuyasu’s legs open by his knees and stood in-between them.
“What’re you doin?” It was Okuyasu’s turn to ask this, he guessed. He felt like his spine was shivering.
Josuke’s hands were on his hips and he pulled Okuyasu closer. Okuyasu couldn’t gulp past the massive lump in his throat. “I think you know the answer.”
Their chests were touching so Okuyasu could tell Josuke’s heart was thudding out of his bones. He was even more anxious then him. Okuyasu gently rested his hand over his heart and rubbed gently. Josuke let out a super shaky breath and let the other boy slip his leather jacket off his shoulders before he grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back into their kiss. When they were kissing fast, Okuyasu didn’t have the brain power to realize how nervous he was. So he threw off his brother’s old blazer. He still didn’t like how it smelt.
“Okuyasu…” Josuke moaned into his mouth. His nails were digging into his skin and he sounded so weird. Josuke had a deep, level voice but right now it was breathy and trembling. Okuyasu didn’t think he had ever heard him make any noises like the ones he was making right now. So he was ridiculously hard. “Okuyasu,”
“Yeah?”
Josuke smiled hazily, placing his hands on Okuyasu’s chest. “You don’t gotta answer. I just like sayin your name.”
“O-o-oh.” Okuyasu stammered as Josuke started unbuttoning his shirt, getting him down to just a wifebeater. Josuke kissed the junction of his neck and shoulder and his mouth was so hot and wet. Okuyasu wondered if that was Josuke’s favorite part of him, because he always left marks right there. “Y’know, it’s not fair if you keep your shirt on too.”
Josuke pulled his sweater off his head, ruining his hair by 8%. He tossed it on the floor then winced. “Ahh, that’s cashmere. I should fold it nicely~”
“Hey, get back here.” Okuyasu wrapped his legs around Josuke’s waist and kept him from tending to his beloved goat fur or whatever the hell cashmere was. “I think you’re kinda busy.”
Josuke laughed and kissed him. Their teeth knocked. They sometimes still fucked up but they ignored the pain and kept going. Josuke pulled back after a while to catch his breath, a gross string of spit between them. Josuke smiled at the other boy and winked once Okuyasu realized he had been staring for way to long. Fucker knows what he’s doing. Okuyasu thought as he wiped his mouth. Does he think I’m gonna let him get away with lookin like that?
“Eh, you look kinda scary right now.” Josuke said as Okuyasu leaned down to kiss the hollow of his throat. “What’re you thinkin about?”
“You.”
Josuke sighed a little, feeling him up just as much as he promised Rohan he would with his hands up the front of his shirt. “Yeah, you’re all I can think about too.” Josuke’s hair had fallen down in front of his eyes and Okuyasu pushed it back as nicely as he could. He stroked Josuke’s cheek with his thumb, dumbstruck by how pretty he was and how his eyes were crinkling with happiness because Josuke really did like Okuyasu.
“I love you.” It wasn’t a confession. Josuke knew that Okuyasu loved him. They said it to each other all the time, but Okuyasu wasn’t ready to admit that he loved him differently from absolutely everything and anyone else in the whole fucking world. He couldn’t bring himself to say “in love”. Even now, despite every awesome thing Josuke said and did, Okuyasu was terrified of his rejection.
“Yeah, I love you too.” Josuke moved in closer, his face getting super heated. “I really want you right now.”
“Yeah, me too. God I want you so, so badly.” Okuysasu grasped at his undershirt and got his lips on his neck again. “You’re so fucking beautiful I can't stand it.”
Josuke’s hands were shaking violently as he grasped Okuyasu’s waist. “You wanna get off?”
“God, please.” Okuyasu said without thinking. He’d freak out about this later. “H-how~”
“I don’t got anything fancy planned.” Josuke whispered, grinding his hips against Okuyasu’s. Okuyasu’s entire body snapped to attention like a soldier and he almost ripped Josuke’s shirt. “I just can't not do this.”
Okuyasu’s mouth went dry and he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be able to talk again. Josuke moved against him again and the friction was just enough to get him really going. He nearly pulled Josuke on top of the dresser with him and kissed him like he was trying to suffocate him. Okuyasu suddenly remembered learning in bio about how sensations were transported through the spine to the brain via electric signals. It made sense then that he felt like he was being electrocuted.
“Bite my lip.” Josuke said, moving his hips in a way Okuyasu couldn’t believe was scientifically possible. He looked almost dangerously good right now. Like the bad boy he tried to be. “Please.”
“Any time, babydoll.” Okuyasu was beyond hot and bothered and the way Josuke moaned when he bruised his lip almost made him cry. He was so fucking sexy I’m gonna die.
Okuyasu heard the clink of a belt and Josuke was pushing his pants down off his hips and Okuyasu felt like he was gonna puke. “I need these off,” Josuke gasped, leaning back into him. “D-d-do you w-want~”
“Yes, yes.” Okuyasu said hazily, summoning up all of his courage to grab the other boys now really, really exposed ass. They hadn't ever gotten this far before and it was excited and terrifying and Okuyasu was so happy to be alive and exist in the right universe.
They bumped heads as they both went for his belt, so Josuke undid it clumsily and then there was nothing separating them but two very thin pieces of cloth. Good thing I wore nice underwear Okuyasu thought, also embarrassed by the dark, wet spot that was growing. At least Josuke had a matching one.
They didn’t talk after that. Okuyasu hid his face in the crook of Josuke’s shoulder and tried to muffle his heavy breathing. He sounded weird and needy even to himself. Josuke’s fingers were buried in his hair and his other hand was on Okuyasu’s hip. He kept pulling him closer every time he rolled his hips. They were knocking shit to the floor and thank god the lights were off but Okuyasu knew Josuke would be able to feel how his blush was across his neck and chest and shoulders. He was kissing and touching him everywhere while he pressed their dicks together.
Josuke suddenly shuddered and his grip started to hurt. His hips jerked weirdly and he gasped and sighed and Okuyasu realized what was happening. He didn’t even know how he was still alive with all the blood gone from his brain. Watching Josuke act like this was way too hot and Okuyasu stared at him, memorizing how blissed out he looked and how Okuyasu’s name sounded when it was moaned as Josuke came.
Josuke sagged against Okuyasu and he held the other boy tightly. Okuyasu kissed Josuke’s ear and his neck, feeling how fast his pulse was and how sweaty his skin had gotten. He smelt really good though. What is that? Okuyasu thought as he held Josuke by the chin and moved the hair from his eyes. Pheromones?
Josuke smiled goofily at Okuyasu for a second before his expression darkened. “Ah? Aw man, I came first. You’re still like, rock solid.”
“What? Just can't control yourself when you’re around me?” Okuyasu teased, running his fingertips down Josuke’s throat. “You all talk?”
“Shut up, babe.” Josuke kissed his nose and dropped to his knees. “I’ll get you off in a sec.”
“H-hey, what’re you doin down there?”
“Uh, duh, I’m gonna suck your dick.”
Okuyasu batted Josuke’s hand away. “You can't!”
Josuke looked up at him from the floor, in-between his legs and Okuyasu swore his brain started bleeding. “Why?”
“I-I haven’t showered since this morning.” Okuyasu said quickly, somehow getting redder. “It be gross.”
“Man, I don’t care about that but whatever. It’s cool if you’re nervous, or something.” Josuke stood back up and kissed Okuyasu’s ear. “But after you take a bath tomorrow I’ll be over you.”
“Shut up!” That was all Okuyasu could say before Josuke started stroking his cock from outside his boxers. He might as well have just been touching him. His hand was so hot Okuyasu could feel it straight through the fabric. He covered his hand with his mouth because he wasn’t sure what kinda sounds he would make now. Loud ones, definitely. Weird ones, maybe. Josuke kissed him around the head as he tightened his grip and it didn’t take long at all. Okuyasu hid his face again, clinging to Josuke like he was the only thing keeping him upright. It was weird to cum in front of another person. It was extra weird to cum cause someone else was touching him. It also felt ten million times better then when he jerked off. Josuke caught him as he fell forward. He was completely boneless and super out of breath.
“I’m gonna die.” Okuyasu muttered against Josuke’s chest. “I’m gonna have a heart attack and die.”
Josuke laughed at him and hugged him tightly. “Ya think lyin down would help?”
“Yeah, yeah maybe.” They kicked off their pants which were hanging desperately to their knees and collapsed into Okuyasu’s too small bed. Josuke’s was big enough for the two of them with some space leftover. Okuyasu’s was a twin, and Josuke had to practically lie on top of him. Neither of them minded. Okuyasu wanted Josuke as close as possible as they winded down.
Josuke suddenly giggled. “Holy shit, we fogged up the windows. I thought you could only do that in cars?”
“Damn, we’re that good.” Okuyasu said, cuddling even closer. If that had been with anyone else…well it probably wouldn't have happened. Okuyasu would have felt too insecure, and scared, and afraid of judgment and he probably would have felt humiliated after. And way too vulnerable. Okuyasu didn’t do “vulnerable”. But right now? With Josuke? Everything was amazing, because Josuke was amazing. Okuyasu looked down at the crown of his head that was resting on his chest. “You’re my favorite thing about this town.”
Josuke blushed again as he shimmied forward so that they were nose to nose. “Dude really? Even more then Tonio’s food?”
“You taste better.”
Josuke’s eyes went wide and he giggled nervously. “Damn man, you are good.” Josuke kissed the bridge of his nose and Okuyasu felt so fucking secure and happy. “Yeah? That was fun right?”
“Super fun. Now I feel kinda nasty though.” Okuyasu wrinkled his nose. “We both need to change.”
“Later, later, I just wanna lie here with you for a little bit. We could watch a movie or something.”
Okuyasu ran the back of his hand over Josuke’s cheek like he seen on tv dramas. Okuyasu had always had kinda clumsy and destructive hands even before well, the “Hand” came along. He tried so hard to touch Josuke tenderly and he guessed he did it right when Josuke’s gaze softened. “I’d rather watch you, gorgeous.”
“Yeah? Well get an eyeful of this.” Josuke climbed onto Okuyasu’s lap and pinned him against the bed. Before he knew it they were kissing again, fast and breathless. “You’re my favorite thing too.”
Okuyasu could’ve cried, but he’d have to stop making out with the other boy to do it. And he sure as hell didn’t want that. How the hell did I get so lucky? How the hell am I so happy here in this awful house? Josuke said his name again. Not to get his attention, but just cause he liked saying it and there was a lump in Okuyasu’s throat.
They started getting back into it. There wasn’t a lot of talking, but a lot of groping and wet kisses. In the back of Okuyasu’s mind he kept thinking that maybe Josuke should trim his nails, but he kept forgetting about the scratches whenever he whispered his name and slid his foot up and down his leg. The way he was looking at him made Okuyasu’s head spin. Man, it’s unreal. Okuyasu stroked his lips after pulling back from another long kiss. They were both breathing so hard but Josuke looked fucking dazed. There were stars in his eyes. I can’t believe someone is lookin at me like this. That someone is touchin me like this. I don’t know what I did to deserve it.
“You need to let go.” Josuke said softly. “I can tell something’s botherin you. Something’s holding you back from me.”
“N-no…I just…” Okuyasu trailed off as Josuke kissed his bottom lip and threaded his fingers through his hair. “You’re just so amazing I can't get over it. That I'm with you, I mean.”
“Well get fuckin used to it. I'm gonna be with you forever.” Josuke grumbled, deepening the kiss. “I mean, if you wanna.”
“Yeah, I do.” Okuyasu nuzzled his nose. I never wanna leave you.
With that he started back up, licking into the other boy’s mouth. Okuyasu breathed out his nose, trying to listen to him and stop wondering how this was happening. He touched his ribs, his hips and his chest. His skin was soft and warm and he smelt so fucking good. And his ass was also really nice. It probably wasn’t fair to everyone else in town that Josuke had the best lips and the best ass, but Okuyasu appreciated the combo. Josuke kissed him harder with every minute, until both of them were gasping for breath and beyond. It was when Josuke got tired of kissing Okuyasu’s mouth and neck and moved down to his chest that he really started to lose it and sorta forgot about all of his insecurities.
Okuyasu cradled the back of his neck and skull so he could bring that perfect face right up to his and listen to the soft little moans he was making. Okuyasu was only vaguely aware that they were both nearly naked and so twisted up in each other he felt like he was touching every inch of Josuke’s skin. Fuck, he’s so fuckin soft and warm and strong, He thought, getting to his ear again. Josuke rolled them over so Okuyasu was on top of him. He smirked as he ran his hands up and down the other boy’s hips, playing with the waistband of his underwear.
“Hey, babe.” Josuke said, licking his swollen lips. “I’m hard again.”
Okuyasu giggled nervous. “Yeah, me too. Are we gonna do somethin about it or~”
“C-can you like, use your hand? Like I did?” Josuke interrupted in a rushed and nervous voice. Squeaky like a squirrel. “I mean if you don’t want to that’s cool! I don’t wanna make you feel weird or anything!” Josuke covered his face with his hands and Okuyasu smiled a little. “Sorry, sorry, I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable~”
“Jooosuke,” Okuyasu said, kissing his hands before he pulled them away so he could look at Josuke’s sweaty face. “I’ll let you know if I’m ever not feelin it, ok? It’s cool. I wanna touch you.”
Okuyasu bit his lip as he grabbed Josukes’s bulge and started to stroke it. The angle was weird, and it was also still in his pants but Okuyasu couldn’t even start to think about taking those off without getting a seizure. Josuke went back to hiding his face, this time with his arm. He was clinging to Okuyasu’s wrist with his freehand. Now that Okuyasu wasn’t really in the thick of it this time, he got to watch Josuke. His hips twitched a little and raised off the bed and he was trying hard not to sigh but god if it wasn’t the fucking sexiest thing Okuyasu had ever seen. And he even had some dirty magazines under his bed. Josuke was better than all of them combined.
“Faster, please.” Josuke whined, squeezing the life out of Okuyasu’s arm. “C’mon babe, I’m close.”
Okuyasu was all too eager to please. Josuke’s dick felt strange in his hand. It was super weird that he could tell it was shaped differently from his, if that made any sense. And it was warm. And thick. To be honest, this really wasn’t how Okuyasu saw the night going but he was pleased as punch that it had.
Josuke made a series of strangled noises before he arched his back. He was way louder than before and Okuyasu’s ears burned. Whenever he used to think about sex all he thought about was how much fun it be for him to get off. He never woulda guessed watching his boyfriend cum would be just as good.
Okuyasu sat back on his heels as Josuke breathed heavily. He seemed sorta oblivious to everything for a while, and his heartbeat was visible through his shirt. “Babydoll?”
“I’m good, I’m alive.” Josuke wheezed, sitting up. “I’ll sleep good tonight man, that’s for fuckin sure.” Josuke smiled at Okuyasu like he was drunk and he scooted forward until their knees were touching. “C’mere babe. Your turn.”
Josuke pushed Okuyasu’s already stressed wifebeater up around his collarbones and kissed his chest with a lot of tongue. Okuyasu squeezed his eyes shut. He really couldn’t watch Josuke anymore. He was just too gorgeous and wild looking right now. Josuke touched Okuyasu like he had before, sending electric sparks up and down Okuyasu’s back. He held onto Josuke’s shoulders cause that’s all that was keeping him alive.
“I love you,” Josuke muttered as he kissed his jaw. That sounded more like a confession, but Okuyasu wasn’t sure. Josuke once told him that because he bought him a coffee. “You’re my guy.”
“Yeah?” Okuyasu said in a high pitched voice.
“Yeah man.” Josuke smiled at him and Okuyasu was truly dazzled. “You’re the best.”
Josuke’s fingers were slipping into Okuyasu’s briefs, but Josuke wouldn’t go forward until Okuyasu nodded. His head was up in the clouds and all he needed was for Josuke to touch him more, more, more. But it didn’t last long. Josuke just barely got his hand around him when Okuyasu had to push him off cause he came quicker then he thought he ever had before. It was anticlimactic, to put it lightly.
This is fuckin lame and humiliating, Okuyasu thought as Josuke laughed from his sprawled position on the bed. “What’re you chucklin about, asshole?” Okuyasu grumbled as he yanked his shirt back down. Now he was extra disgusting and and sweaty and sticky.
“Man, we’re both two pump chumps.” Josuke shook his head. “I guess we just like each other too much.”
Okuyasu gently hit him with a pillow. “Shut up, weirdo. We’ll build stamina, right? I don’t know how these things work.” Okuyasu hopped to his feet, feeling a little light headed. He cracked a window cause he didn’t feel like wasting electricity on the fan and his body was like an oven. It also smelt a little funky.
“It’s all good.” Josuke said, stretching all his limbs out, a super gangly mess that took up all of Okuyasu’s bed. Okuyasu knew he’d never catch up to his height. If anything he’d keep growing and Okuyasu was a little scared to think about Josuke getting as big as Jotaro. “Man, I feel great! I’m never jerkin it by myself again!”
Okuyasu tried not to laugh but it was impossible. “Yeah, I don’t believe that.” Josuke pouted and Okuyasu went back to his vhs tapes. “So what do you wanna watch? You said you wanted to watch a movie right?”
“Yeah yeah, somethin with a lot of explosions that I don’t gotta focus on. I’m gonna be starin at you.”
“And then I’m takin a quick bath or somethin.” Okuyasu said, popping the tape in and crawling back into bed. Josuke kissed him right away, softly and sweetly. “I didn’t think this kinda shit was so sweaty.”
“You don’t smell too bad though.” Josuke said, lying on his side. Okuyasu curled up behind him so they could both see his tiny tv. Josuke scooched closer until Okuyasu got the hint and held him tightly. “Everything’s so easy with you dude. Even when I’m so fucking nervous I feel like I’ll pass out it always works out with you.”
“Ya tryin to sweet talk me again?” Okuyasu teased, kissing the weird birthmark on his shoulder. “I think I’d need another hour before round three.”
“Nah, it’s nothin like that.” Josuke yawned. “Anyway where do you get off accusing me of sweet talk? Oh! I know where you get off! With me!”
Okuyasu snorted and twisted his ear. “Gent bent man.”
“Yeah for you I’ll bend over.”
“Ahh!” Okuyasu buried his head in the back of Josuke’s hair while he laughed at him. “I thought you were a good honest boy!”
“But I am bein honest!” But the damage was done and Okuyasu was too flustered to say anything in return. Josuke waited for him to recover from that and they watched the movie quietly. Okuyasu liked feeling Josuke’s chest rise and fall as he breathed steadily. Josuke was the most comfortable thing Okuyasu had ever known. “So I was thinking.” Josuke said as he stroked Okuyasu’s wrist with his thumb. “Tomorrow, after homework and shit, I wanna take you to the beach. On a real date.”
“Really?”
“Yeah dude. Actually, the reason I invited you to that bonfire a few weeks ago was,” Josuke coughed awkwardly and looked over his shoulder at the other boy. “I was gonna confess to you there. On the beach. Yukako told me it be romantic.”
“Romantic?” Okuyasu echoed. “Why’d it have to be so fancy? Man, you’re cute when you’re being corny.”
“I’m not being corny!” Josuke exclaimed. “And I just wanted you to say you liked me back. I wanted to make it special for you! Instead we ended up stuck in my house and I was so stupid and lame~”
Okuyasu sighed and turned Josuke onto his back. “It was special to me, you know. I aint ever gonna forget it gorgeous, ok? I mean, you probably coulda told me while I unclogged a toilet or somethin and I woulda been thrilled.” Josuke’s eyes crinkled as he beamed at him. “But yeah, tomorrow sounds good. I’ll even make you a bento.”
“Nice, yours are the best. Don’t tell my mom!” He added quickly as Okuyasu lost what little self control he had when it came to this boy and kissed the corner of his mouth. Josuke kissed him back on his chin before he moved back to his side. The tv filled the room with a blue light, and it was weirdly comfortable. It felt like it was just the two of them in the entire world and even though Okuyasu didn’t ever want that to actually be true, it was nice to pretend for a few hours.
They only got halfway through the movie when the snoring started. Josuke was totally passed out and drooling everywhere, clinging to Okuyasu’s spare pillow. He’s gonna be pissed he didn’t take a shower when he has to untangle this mess. Okuyasu thought, delicately pulling free the locks of hair that were stuck to his sweaty face. No to mention his underwear’s gonna be glued to him. Okuyasu couldn’t wake him up though. He looked cute when he slept. His cheeks and lips were smushed up against his arm and he snored louder then he’d ever admit to. So Okuyasu kissed his cheek as lightly as he could goodnight. Josuke still smiled in his sleep, and Okuyasu decided that maybe he wouldn’t tease him about it tomorrow. Maybe.
