Work Text:
Jinx was packing her belongings up in a duffel. Only the things she needed, because she'd come back for the rest later. She was so focussed on packing her necessities quickly, she missed the sound of footsteps approaching.
"Going so soon?"
Jinx gasped and spun around, drawing her gun, but it was just Sevika, leaning against the doorframe. "Fuck, you sure are quiet for someone of your size."
Sevika rolled her eyes. "Everyone thinks you're dead."
"Good." Jinx said, turning away from Sevika to continue packing. "That means it worked."
"What worked?" Sevika questioned. "You mean you intentionally almost blew yourself to bits?"
Jinx sighed. "Vi was never going to give up on me. As long as I'm in the picture, she won't truly ever get to live her life. I'm doing this for her."
"She's miserable right now," Sevika stepped forward. "She won't stop crying, blaming herself for what happened."
"She'll move on eventually." Jinx said with confidence. "And it's not like I'm never coming back. I'm just... taking a little vacation, is all."
Sevika refused admit that the news that Jinx's departure wasn't permanent made her happy. "Where are you going to go?"
"Before Isha... you know... died, we sort of... made a little plan." Jinx admitted. "Places to go, sights to see, things to do. It's stupid, really. But I'm going to do it. For us." Jinx made sure to pack Isha's hat in with her belongings. "She may be gone, but I won't let this world forget how awesome she was. I'll find a way to honour her legacy, somehow."
A chuckle escaped Sevika. "I guess I can't talk you out of it, then?"
Jinx shook her head. "Nope. Relax, lady. This isn't goodbye. We'll see each other again, one way or another."
Sevika nodded. "Before you go, though, could I ask a favour from you?"
Jinx turned. "A favour? Sure, what is it?"
Sevika scratched her neck. "Could you... make me another arm?"
Jinx raised an eyebrow. "You want another arm?"
"Yeah, well," Sevika shrugged, not meeting Jinx's gaze. "The one you made got broke by Ambessa's crew."
"Why me?" Jinx asked, still focussed on packing. "I mean, you know how my style is."
"Yeah, I know. That's... why I want you to make it."
Jinx paused what she was doing and turned to face Sevika, her smirk growing on her face. "You liked my arm!" she chuckled. "Let me guess, you got hooked on the gambling addition to it?"
Sevika shrugged again. "I liked the risk. The uncertainty of what tools I would be forced to use in battle. And the fact that I could lose, and not get anything from the slots."
Jinx chuckled again. "Wow. Sure, why not. Staying a little longer might be for the best anyway, let the fire die down a little more before making a break for the airships."
Sevika smirked. "Thanks. I mean it."
