In the Arms of an Ayngel

Summary:

Ori was dead, his screams echoing throughout her head as she charged on. Her Head Wings pulling her body onto her toes. She held in her tears as she saw a glowing purple rift illumate the dark maze... The same one she remembers seeing as she woke up, Krow holding a dagger out towards her...

--
Or, What if Ayngel is a Rouge Watcher just like Grian and they meet by a baby rift that was accidentally summoned in S10 Grian's base?

Notes:

Also btw Idk what to tag Ayngel & Krow bc their literally just like platonic soulmates? Idk the & felt to friendly but the / is to romantic. Their Dynamic is hard to explain.

Also I love Demon-Angel lesbians, I love Rasbi & Ayngel :)

P.S; I don't care if there is no rift in S10, and Idk if The Outsiders SMP ended in 2022. This is my emotional fic 😭🙏

(I need sleep & I'll probably try to post 1k Words per chapter.)

Chapter 1: Her Lavender Hair, His Silver Halo

Chapter Text

Ori's screams cut her out of her own head. He was begging, crying, pleading out for her to save him. His screams bellowing for her as the Greiver tore him apart and injected it's venom. His new clothes being stained with crimson blood. The markings of numbers scribbled onto his arm becoming ineligible as it was covered by the ruddy colored liquid. The last words she heard that coherently escape his lips were.

“AYNGEL PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO DIE HERE, WE NEED TO HELP THEM!!!-”

They froze her to her core. Her dark lavender hair falling into her face as the once bright silver halo of his dimmed with light. Her wings shielding herself from the view. Her yellow sweater clenching to her torso with sweat and labor of running and chasing after him just to see this unfold. Her black sneakers that were now tattered with time feeling to heavy on her. The skirt of hers clinging onto the pantlegs of her iron armor plates. Her entire body stood frozen in time as if she was the corpse that the Greiver feasted upon. That was until she overheard Krow's words in the back of her head.

“I don't care Ayngel, if you run back to save me if- if I get my leg stuck or something... You're dead too.”

She then started running, the Greiver occupied with Ori's mangled corpse. Her black tattered skirt not doing her any favors when it's fabric got stuck in the hinges of her armor as she sprinted. The cacophony of the Glade B members, and Ori's screams in her head as she ran. The way he corraled her to his tree and was admiring her like a circus animal. The dark stoned bricks under her feet rough against her thin soles as she silently cried out for help.

That was until she met a dead end, her breathe shortening as she knew it was the end. Her fight or flight kicking in as she desperately pulled her body to keep running, she had a family to at least try and find. She had the remaining Glade B members to protect. She had to protect Rasbi, Ayngel originally followed Ori in here to find a cure for Rasbis injuries.

She had to atleast try to escape, that's what propelled her body forward. Her back wings that were bound by a white masked person aching to escape, to be free and to fight tooth and nail to fly, soar, be out of this damn cage.

After running for approximately 30 minutes according to her clock, she sat down. Herself trapped flush against what seemed like the side of a dungeon, and a blackstoned wall, she carefully took her bag of her back. Lifting a book 'n quil she was gifted by Graecie and carefully writing out a memory based map. Her halo working as a bracelet light. As her halo being on her head was by far too bright to be unseen. She was around 300 blocks away from the dark maze according to her calculations. She then took refuge in the nook of the maze after dimming her halo. Just like how Ori's was when he died. So she could try and go to sleep.

-------------

As she awoke, her ears were ringing, a loud clatter of a flint 'n steel shouting out across the maze. Some grim, muffled voice, murmured a quiet curse as they picked it up. Ayngel then yanked her backpack, all collected, lit up her halo, and ran across the maze. Nothing each turn and how far it was along. The muffled voice then started chasing her footsteps. It's hard boots almost marching around the maze. Ayngel then used the dark maze she spent the past 24 ish hours in to her advantage as she sprinted in a circle. The man she could see from her peripheral vision was in all black, a dark green head mask.

She then used her wings to alleviate herself across a pit that she almost fell into the first time around. The chaser falling into the pit like a mouse into a trap with cheese. The chaser desperately army crawling upward. Until Ayngel took her black sneakers, using all of her powers to rock the chaser in the head before jumping back to the other side of the pit and chasing farther into the maze. Determined to find something to help her loved ones escape, and hopefully not die trying. She didn't normally arm herself, but she kept a spear and some of Krow's iron daggers close to her. Checking her map she was 589 blocks away, and it was in the afternoon. She kept trekking on, her canteen unfortunately running low on water, but her bag was full of fruits and crackers, from Soup and Rasbi Of course. Rasbi & Krow expressed how she wanted to go into the maze with. But Ayngel cut both of them down, expressing how she had survived in the normal maze for months, and that was a difficult feat on its own.

Ayngel was growing tired, until she stumbled upon what seemed like a glitch in the system. An opening that lead into a drop off fall into a waterfall below. The opening was circled by a bright purple aura and a bedrock symbol of a broken nether portal. Ayngel immeadiately took up station here, opening her book and leaning it against the framework of the symbol.

She scribbled down everything she could about where it was on her two sideways papers used as a map. Then on another page she wrote down everything about the symbols, the purple aura, and the odd Glade opening. The opening throwing Ayngel off loop, so much so that she didn't realize that there was a griever scraping it's pincers against the purple aura that she never noticed encaged the portal she laid against.

As she saw the devasting abomination she felt like it was all a joke. She was Icarus, he whom never heeded their warnings and was now stuck to fall forevermore in its own misery. That's when she remembered them. The Watchers, the ones who observe and never forget. She heard of what they did to Evo, and she wouldn't put it past them if they were the ones who made this hell hole. She followed Grian, the 3rd Watcher, the Watcher of 3rd life, The Sol Solider. The lists of names, titles, both good and bad went on and on.

She always aspired to be like him, to safe her loved ones from despair even if she broke herself while doing so. So that's why she felt like a joke when the Greiver chewed and pinched at the unwavering barrier. She flew to close to the Sun, and she has to figure out whether she'll soar as a Goddess of the Council. Or plummet to the ground as she felt her wings and halo burn all around her. This was the true test that was meant to see if she had what it takes to beat a TRUE Watcher, and to test what she had learnt while in this Minotaurs Labyrinth.
