Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The grandeur of the SN Enterprises gala was unparalleled, as expected of Sky, the charismatic CEO whose name commanded respect in every corner of the business world. The event was flawless, meticulously planned to celebrate the company’s latest milestone. Yet, amidst the sea of glittering faces and champagne flutes, Sky’s sharp gaze froze on a figure he never thought he’d see again.

Nani.

It had been five years since their divorce, five long years of emptiness disguised as success. But here he was, standing across the hall, looking breathtakingly familiar yet heartbreakingly distant. His radiant smile had always been Nani's most striking feature, but this time it wasn’t for Sky—it was for the little girl in his arms.

Sky’s chest tightened, his mind racing. *So, he’s moved on.* The thought burned more than it should have. The child had to belong to Nani and whoever had replaced Sky in his life. He had always known Nani would make a wonderful parent; seeing him now only confirmed it. Yet, the sight filled him with a strange, hollow ache.

He couldn’t stop his eyes from wandering to Dew, standing protectively close to Nani. It didn’t take much to piece together the story—Dew was Nani’s partner now, and this was their child. Sky’s jaw clenched as he turned away, burying the hurt beneath a mask of indifference.

What Sky didn’t know was the story wasn’t what it seemed.

Nani hadn’t moved on, despite what the world assumed. He had loved Sky once with all his heart, and that love had never truly faded. But circumstances had forced him to make choices he never wanted to. The little girl in his arms wasn’t Dew’s child, nor anyone else’s. She was Sky’s, the product of a love that had ended too soon, a secret Nani had vowed to keep to himself.

Dew had been his savior, the one who helped shield the truth from the prying eyes of the world. It was easier to let people believe the lie, to let them think Nani and Dew were a family. It spared Nani from questions he wasn’t ready to answer and a pain he wasn’t ready to revisit. But now, Dew had moved on, starting a relationship of his own, leaving Nani standing alone again.

And Sky, emboldened by the revelation that Nani was single, saw it as an opportunity—a chance to mend what was broken, to fight for what they once had. He couldn’t deny the pull he felt toward Nani, a magnetic force drawing him back into his orbit.

What Sky didn’t know, what Nani feared to reveal, was that the child was his. The truth would shatter the delicate facade Nani had built to protect them both. But secrets have a way of surfacing, and the past has a way of demanding to be reckoned with.

As Sky made his move to reclaim Nani’s heart, he was unaware that the stakes were higher than he could imagine. The little girl’s laughter echoed through the hall, a haunting reminder of a love that had never truly disappeared—and a truth that could change everything.
