It was a fun trip to Hawaii for Jojo and Rachel. As they got out of the airport they were met with Wachowski’s in the car. Before they boarded on their return flight Maddie called Rachel saying that she and Tom would be picking them up from the airport. Rachel didn’t like the idea of going home at the same vehicle as Tom but she ddecided to push her grudge for Tom away fors he promised Maddie to give him a chance. Maddie and Tom got out of the car. “Rachel! Jojo! Hi there!” said Maddie with her usual cheerful smile. Two sisters hugged at each other as Tom got their lagguages and put them into the trunk. Jojo wasted no time for getting in the car and taking her seat at the back, waving her legs in excitement. She just couldn’t wait to get back home and skate with the roller blades Randall have gifted her in Hawaii. Ever since she met with Shadow and saw how cool he was while skating on his “air shoes” she was yearning for a pair of roller blades of her own so that she could learn how to skate just like him. So she was super happy the moment Randall gifted her a pair of cyan roller blades. Soon everyone got into the car and they took off.
When they arrived home they were met with…Wade? Next to him there was Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and…who was that white hedgehog? Rachel got out of the car and looked at the sight in front of her in huge confusion. “There is five of them now?! Maddie what’s the meaning of this! Since when-.”she was at loss for words at that point. “Sister, please calm down.”said Maddie. Trying to calm her confused and most likely frustrated sister down. Jojo on the other hand ran to the group as soon as she freed herself from her seat belt and got out of the car. “Jojo don’t go there!” yelled her mother but she ignored it. It wouldn’t be her first time doing it after all. She approached to the white hedgehog and looked at him in amazement. “Hi! I am Jojo! And you are?”. The white hedgehog seemed like he was caught off guard. Sonic put his hand to his shoulder and smirked at Jojo. “Hey Jojo. Meet with Silver. Your new family member.”. “Huh- Wha-“Silver looked at Sonic, looking embarrased. “No I am not. They didn’t accept me to their house yet Sonic. And I can’t just be someone’s family that would be disrespectful!”. “Huh. Really? Well… That’s just what happened with all of us though. Even to Shadow.”. Black hedgehog just glared at him in response. Not saying anything. “Can someone tell me what is going on?! I demand an explanation Thomas! And I demand it now!”. Tom and Maddie looked at each other. Looks like the moment they have been practicing for have already come.
After their explanation a silence fell upon the living room of Rachel’s house. “So let me get this straight. You say that this hedgehog.”she pointed her finger at Silver who was sitting at sofa, tugging at his gloves time to time. “Tried to kill Sonic because of a misunderstanding for several times. And you want me to accomodate him in my house? Absolutely not!”. “But mom!-“. “No Jojo! We won’t be doing this! He can stay at them like others-“. “No, unfortunately he can’t. We have no room for him at our house sister. We really tried to find him a comfortable place but it was no use.”said Maddie as she sighed. “I know that this is a lot to ask but please. He has nowhere to go. His home was all destroyed and his friend was lost beyond dimensions. He is all alone Rachel. He tried to kill Sonic because of the wrong illusions he was given by the very being who was the actual responsible.”. “Who by the way totally got his ass beaten by us.”added Sonic with a proud smile. Rachel looked at Silver who was looking at her with…shame..? Rachel expected him to beg her for staying here but he didn’t utter a word to her since the beggining. “Aren’t you going to say anything hm?”she asked him. Silver turned his gaze to the ground and took a deep breath then he managed to look her in the eyes properly.
“Ma’am. I completely understand you for not wanting me here. And honestly. You are absolutely right about it.”. “Hey now that’s-“. Just as Tom was about to interfere Silver raised his hand to Tom. Stopping him. Then he continued. “You value the safety of your home and most importantly your daughter. Me being here could get you both in danger. Besides I already did many terrible things. I almost ended a life. I almost destroyed a happy family. I…never knew my real parents. Maybe it was like that for a reason. Maybe I don’t deserve a family after all.”after saying the last line a cyan glow surrounded him. “Silver no!-“. Maddie tried to stop him but it was too late. Before they could comprehend Silver already flied off from the open window.
“Come on team! After him!”shouted Sonic as Knuckles and Tails dashed to outside with him. “We are going too.”said Tom as he rushed to the car with Maddie following him. Wade who was left behind looked at Shadow. “They can take care of this. I am out of here. I stayed enough-“.”Shadow please!”. Just as Shadow was about to skate away Jojo stopped him and looked at him with pleading eyes. “I am worried about Silver! Please you look for him too! What if something happens to him? Or what if he-“. Shadow sighed, accepting defeat. “Alright fine. I will look for him too.”. He then skated away in full speed leaving an orange streak behind. Wade who was sitting awkwardly on the sofa got up. “I should...leave and look for him too. Um.”. He looked at worried Jojo and her mother who seemed in shock. “No worries. They will find him for sure. Then…I am off.”. With Wade also gone the house was now in complete silence. After a minute or two Rachel suddenly got up from the sofa and looked at her daughter. “Jojo. Get your bag ready. This might take a while after all.”. Jojo looked surprised at her mother’s sudden decision. She nodded her head frantically as she headed upstairs in quicks steps.
If there was one thing Rachel hates the most that would definitely be dishonesty. She hates when people lie to her no matter who they are. She remembered that disaster of a wedding at Hawaii. She could still remeber how horrible she felt. The person she trusted the most ended up betraying her in the happiest day of her life. She could still remember how angry she felt when the commander he called her “Bridezilla”. How could he? He was the one who ruined her special day and suddenly she was the villainess? She could also still remember that she went on a rampage, trying to kill the person she was supposed to marry. Okay. Maybe she was the villainess that day. But those bastards had that coming. If there was one thing she doesn’t remember feeling that day it would be regret. Then she tought about the words of Silver. He came to her with the truth. He didn’t try to deny that he was harmless and he also confirmed all the deeds he has ever done. He could’ve tried to fool her, trick her into thinking that he wasn’t all that bad but no. The white hedgehog she met today spoke the truth regardless of his situation. She honestly liked that about him. He was genuine. But he also spoke things that disturbed her. That he never met his family and thinks that he doesn’t deserve one. Something about these words disturbed Rachel and flipped a switch in her. She was searching him with Jojo now because if she didn’t find that hedgehog today she wouldn’t be able to get a single amount of sleep. Just what was happening to her today? She had absolutely no idea.
As she drove the car with Jojo sitting on the backseat, looking left and right continuisly trying to spot Silver, she dialed Maddie’s number. “Did you find him yet?”. “Maddie who was on the other line of the phone couldn’t believe what she was hearing at first but then responded. “Um- No not yet. No sign of him whatsoever.”. “I see. We are looking with Jojo too. I will notify you when-“. “The cyan glow! Mom stop the car!”. “Finally. Only took us 5 hours of searching. I will call you back sis.”. She hung up the phone just as Maddie was about to say something before getting out of the car with Jojo.
They both approached the bush at the park who had a cyan glow surrounding it. As it was midnight nobody was around “Silver?”Jojo called out in a gentle tone. “It’s me. Jojo. It’s okay. You can come out.”. They saw golden eyes peeking at them, the cyan glow subsided a little. “Isn’t it cold out there?” asked Rachel. No response was given. Jojo looked at her mom, unsure of what to do. Rachel opened the bag pack she brought and took out a green coat. She them approached the bush with the coat. “Come on. Get out of there and put this on. Maddie would be upset if you got sick after all.”. After a while Silver got out of the bush, brushing off the leaves that got stuck on his quills. He hesitantly took the coat Rachel handed him then wore it. It was a big fit on him. “Come on now. Everyone is looking for you you know.”. “They…are?”. “They sure are. Jojo. Go into the car with Silver. I will notify others that we finally found him.”. “Okay mom! Let’s go Silver!”. Jojo held Silver’s hand and took him to the car.
Rachel dialed her sister’s number again. “Hey sis. We found him.”. “Oh thanks god! Is he okay? Any injuries?”. “He didn’t seem injured. Will check properly when we get him home.”. “Home? You mean-“. “Just know that I don’t know a damn thing about these alien animals and how to take care of that so you need to help me on that.”. “O-Of course! Of course we will assist you in every way possible-“. “Wohoo! She accepted him yes!”shouted Sonic on the background. “Thank you so much sister. I- I am so greatful that you can’t just imagine.”. “Oh I can imagine that alright.”. She looked at the car where Jojo is teaching Silver how to fasten a seat belt. “But how exactly will I deal with all this that I can’t imagine.”. Maddie chuckled at that. “Don’t worry about it sis. You figure all out before you know it.”. “Well. If you say so. Then. Good night Maddie. Get some sleep.”. “Yes we all really should go to bed. Good night to you sis. Thank you for everything once again.”. Rachel hung up then returned to the car. She still had many questions but they could wait till morning. For now she would bring this hegdehog home, give him a warm bath and tuck him to a bed.
