Chapter Text
Axl loved his bassist.
He loved being able to have someone so sweet, so loving, so considerate. Duff always indulged in every little thing he wanted, always spoiled him. No matter how much money or how big the problem was, Duff always did it.
Duff always protected him, too, which Axl found incredibly comforting. Standing next to the tall bassist, he felt like he could conquer the world. The way Duff's long, muscular arms would wrap around his waist, lifting him off the ground in a bear hug, was something Axl craved every moment they weren't on stage.
He smiled to himself as he stayed curled in Duff’s long arms, their hands entwined. It was peaceful, the rest of the band asleep and the house quiet. The light was low in the room, just a lamp and the TV, but it was still enough for Axl to admire Duff.
“I love your hands,” He mumbled, pulling their entwined hands towards himself. Duff cracked his eyes open and smirked.
“For dirty reasons or actual legitimate reasons?”
Duff’s question was met with a giggle from Axl, who playfully smacked his chest.
“Both, obviously. But right now, I just love how big they are compared to mine,” Axl said, tracing the outline of Duff’s hand with his own slender fingers. He felt safe and loved in those strong hands, and it was a feeling he never wanted to lose.
“I have a feeling it’s because I’m great at fingering.”
Axl’s laughter bubbled over as he buried his face in Duff’s chest. “You’re insatiable,” he murmured, his cheeks flushing red. Duff just chuckled, his chest rumbling against Axl’s ear.
“Only with you, love.”
Axl smiled again.
“I love how big you are, it makes me feel so vulnerable. How you can pin me down so easily, carry me so easily, or how you have to bend down a little bit to hug me.”
Duff leaned his head down and kissed Axl’s forehead gently, his warm breath sending shivers down Axl’s spine.
“You’re not that small, you know. Just right to me,” Duff said with a smile, his voice filled with affection. “I do love how small you are.”
Axl looked up at Duff, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “Small enough to fit in your pocket, huh?”
“Mhm,” Duff brushed a few strands of copper hair away from Axl’s face. “But seriously. I do love how small you are, makes me a little scared during sex.”
“I make you scared?” Axl gigged, raising an eyebrow playfully. Duff nodded solemnly, his eyes never leaving Axl’s.
“In the best way possible. It’s like you’re this delicate thing that I could break if I’m not careful. And I never want to hurt you, so I go a little crazy making sure you’re okay,” Duff’s voice was soft, and Axl felt his heart swell in his chest.
Axl leaned up, pressing their lips together in a gentle kiss. He loved that Duff was so attentive, so thoughtful about his comfort. “I’m always okay, you’re my gentle giant.”
Duff laughed, a pure, beautiful sound, pushing Axl down onto his back. “I am, ain’t I?” He leaned down, kissing Axl again, letting their tongues entangle. Axl moaned softly, a muscular leg coming up to wrap around Duff’s waist, watching a large hand come to cup his hip.
There was nowhere else he’d rather be.
