Summary
In the small town of Sleepy Hollow, there is a legend, one they call the Headless Horseman. They aren't quite sure when it started or how, but the legend has been passed down through generations, so the details have blurred through time. He has been terrorizing the residents for ages, but Gabriel remembers a time when the town was devout, no Horseman in sight.
Lately there have been whispers of a demon in the vicinity and Aziraphale has been tasked to banish it and drive away the Horseman by Gabriel who wants to bring the town back to its original pious state. So Aziraphale poses as the new Schoolmaster in Sleepy Hollow, but he gets more than he bargained for when the towns sweetheart and her betrothed take an interest in him. It is during one of his long walks back home after escaping yet another social engagement, that he finally comes face to face with the Horseman.
