Summary:

Twenty-eight demigods, the Greek gods, a young oracle, and a satyr from different times are sent back in time to read a series of books that may give them a chance to save everyone they lost.
But there's a price to pay for doing this.
It's not going to be a fun time, but it's all worth it in the end, right?

Chapter 2: The Beginning of the End

Chapter Text

College was going great. Honestly! Percy got to see his girlfriend so much more, it was wonderful. Even with all that recommendation letter bullshit, it was so so nice to see Annabeth.

However, a blinding white light that might just add to his already growing list of disabilities(thank you, Greek mythology) in the middle of their room was not what they expected to see on a random Friday afternoon.

As Luke talked with Percy, it was somewhat a peaceful and annoying and calming experience all at the same time.

For one thing, he was slightly hoping he could’ve completely skipped this and slept. Then again, it was nice to be able to show the new kid around, nice to have a moment of peace before everything inevitably went to shit.

Just as he was speaking about something (listen- Chiron never said he HAD to pay attention, just that he HAD to show him around, okay?), a white light blinded him, and everything disappeared.

───── ⋆ ꩜ ⋆ ─────

Leo, Hazel, Jason, Frank, Piper, Percy, Annabeth, and Nico were aboard the Argo II.

They were sitting around the dining room table, bored out of their minds.

"How much longer till we reach Greece?" Jason asked.

"A week?" Nico shrugged, “I lost track a couple days ago.”

Jason sighed.

“Well this is boring.”

"I need to IM Thalia," Nico said, standing up.

He was stopped as a bright, white light appeared in the center of the room, expanding every second, before they were gone, Percy and Annabeth being the only two left, along with everything else.

───── ⋆ ꩜ ⋆ ─────

At Camp Half-Blood, five people were all wandering to the same spot.

Travis and Connor both looked at each other and nodded, abandoning their latest prank idea. They needed to go to the beach.

Katie looked up from the flower box she was tending to. She didn’t understand why she needed to head towards the beach, but she went anyway.

Clarisse dropped her sword in the middle of practice. Thankfully, she was the only one around. The Beach was the only thought she had.

Will stood up from his project in the big house infirmary. Something was calling him to the beach. Maybe someone was injured? He didn’t question it and hurried out.

When they all arrived on the shore they nodded to each other, understanding that something, whatever it was, called them all here. After a moment, a light appeared in front of them all, quickly growing before the beach was no more.

───── ⋆ ꩜ ⋆ ─────

Thalia was sitting in Artemis’ Cabin, smiling at Grover as they talked together.

It was nice. Not a single thing in the world mattered other than their conversation, and it was nice.

Until the glowing white…thing appeared, and all of that peace was destroyed, along with everything around them.

───── ⋆ ꩜ ⋆ ─────

Rachel flopped back on her bed, her easel set up with a forgotten canvas set on it, paints laid out in rows.

Someone knocked on her door, and she groaned. “Go away, dad!” There was a pause, but eventually- she heard footsteps leaving. It was funny how she always knew it was her dad, because he was the only one who actually knocked. Whenever other relatives were over, it wouldn't matter if Rachel was taking pictures for Feet Finder, they would open the door and make themselves at home.

Finally, she thought, some goddamn time to myself. She still was thinking about that weird boy with the sword she saw last week, and she thought about him up until the moment the world disappeared around her.

Chapter 3: Introductions!

“Introduction time, yaay.”

Chapter Text

When everyone opened their eyes, they were in an unfamiliar room with fifteen gods staring down at them.

There was silence, everyone waiting for someone to speak. The silence was broken by thunder, lightning and a voice just as strong as the thunder he wields, “What are you doing on Olympus?”

As Hades went to reply, a small flash and fluttering of paper near Athena was seen and heard, and the goddess picked it up, “This letter explains the situation.”

Silence settled, the goddess of wisdom waiting until all eyes were on her before continuing,

“Dear Gods, mortals, and immortals, we have invited you all here to read stories of the lives of the demigods in the room you now all stand in. In the books that shall arrive shortly, the quests of demigods involved in the Great Prophecy and the Prophecy of the Seven will be detailed. The purpose of this is to allow for a more mutual understanding between gods and demigods. Time will be frozen for you whilst you are in the room, so there is no pressure to rush through. It shall also be noted that the people in this room come from different times and may not all be on the side of the gods. While the books are read, we request children sit with their parent and/or patron as some scenes may cause discomfort.

“Reading these books will be subject to a short list of rules. First of all, the books we give must be read in the order they arrive in, from top to bottom. Second, we ask the gods to refrain from injuring, smiting, or hurting any demigods, immortals, or mortals.” Zeus scoffed at that, and Thalia Grace had to stifle a laugh when Athena glared at him, “Any and all attempts to break or define this rule will result in consequences. Third, no one who knows the events writing shall give away any clues about what will happen.

“And finally, the books we give will carry a sacred curse. For what that means, we trust you will find out for yourself in due time. Sincerely,

“The Fates.”

There was a general uproar in the crowd of gods, demigods, immortals, mortals, and all of the above. The gods were complaining about being forced to do something they didn’t agree to, people were shouting about the curse and trying to figure out what it might be, all while the few people not shouting were trying to either a) calm everyone down or b) escape.

While everyone was shouting, fifteen sofas appeared around the room, a shape that looked slightly like a circle, kinda like a diamond, and somewhat like a square being formed. Each sofa was quite obviously designed for each god.

The Aphrodite, AKA Venus, couch was pink and plush, small stuffed animals being placed on either side. The Hephaestus, AKA Vulcan, one appeared to be made of celestial bronze with- hold up, are those cup holders? Lucky. The Hades, AKA Pluto, sofa was made of black stone with soft, equally black pillows and cushions for comfort.

Hazel quickly maneuvered her way over to her half-brother, sitting down beside him on the seat, yet quickly realizing her father had come up with the same idea: Get out of the fight and hide in the corner.

Hazel smiled awkwardly at Pluto, the god in question attempting to do the same, except he looked distracted, and quickly turned away as he surveyed the room.

The arguments continued, yet all died out as Hestia stood up from where she was. Hestia suggested the gods sit on the sofas quite obviously designed for them, and when met with reasonable success, a bit of grumbling, and some shuffling around, the gods all sat on their dedicated sofa.

“Introduction time, yaay.”

Characters by Rick Riordan

The demigods stood and faced the Olympians,

Most of the half-bloods knew each other(and were alive*COUGHCOUGH*did someone say anything? haha, definitely no foreshadowing in my fics! amiright?....)The seven introduced themselves and sat by their parents, as did Clarisse la Rue, the Stoll’s, Will Solace, and Katie Gardner. However, Thalia spared one look at her father and turned to sit with Lady Artemis.

With a few protests at the big three kids and surprisingly no murder, the introductions continued.

The two children of Dionysus introduced themselves as Castor and Pollux, making their father immediately sit up and he ushered them over, the two boys wondering why he was so shocked to see them. The same thing with two children of Apollo, Lee Fletcher and Michael Yew. As Apollo was looking up, Will Solace was already practically tackling the two boys in a hug, Kayla Knowles and Austin Lake following. And while Lee and Michael hugged their half-siblings back, they wondered what got him and their father so worked up.

This happened five times more, with Silena Beauregard, daughter of Aphrodite, having Clarisse practically throwing herself at her, this time literally tackling the girl in a hug, with Zoe Nightshade, Lady Artemis standing from where she sat and, more calmly, hugging the girl. Also with Bianca di Angelo, having Nico wrap the girl into a tight hug as if she would disappear any second. And finally, when Charles Beckendorf introduced himself, Nyssa Barrera hugged him tightly, and Charles could've sworn he heard he sniffle.

Technically six, actually, however when Luke Castellan, son of Hermes, introduced himself, Annabeth walked right up to him, smacked him across the face, hugged him, then smacked him again……women, amiright?

Anyways, Luke sat with his dad, the god smiling at his son and getting a half-hearted one back.

During the Roman introductions, the gods forms flickered yet soon settled into their Greek forms without much issue, which was strange but with the magic surrounding the room, who knows what would even happen. During the Romans introductions, it happened for a fifth time. When Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, said, quite literally, the first letter of his name, Thalia was already half-way across the room, bringing the boy into a hug.

Honestly, what was going on? This didn’t happen with any of the other demigods. They didn’t die or anything, so what was the problem?(whattt?? there's no foreshadowing in my fic!!)

Grover sat with Dionysus and Chiron remained in his wheelchair beside said couch.

Once everyone settled, a pile of books, and when I say a pile I mean practically a MOUNTAIN, appeared in the center of the room, Percy and Annabeth stepping forward to read the first title, the son of Poseidon groaning at the words.

“Well, best we get started soon. Seaweed brain, you’re reading first as you’ve already got the book.”

“You got it, wise girl.” Percy smiled at his girlfriend before opening the book, “ Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief .”

"Ah, fuck." Annabeth put her head in her hands, and Percy laughed awkwardly, clearing his throat, "This'll be fuuun..."

Notes:

"Hazel smiled awkwardly at Pluto, the god in question attempting to do the same, except he looked distracted, and quickly turned away as he surveyed the room."

the original line was gonna be 'survived the room' because of a typo, and now im not sure which is more accurate.
