Summary
When Alex woke up that day, the last thing he expected was a call from Liam. Sure, they keep in touch, but they hardly ever call, especially without warning.
He picks up the phone and says, “Liam?”
Liam immediately answers with his usual, “Howdy!” and they exchange small talk for a while. After a few minutes, Alex’s impatience gets the better of him.
“So why’d you call?” he asks. He would worry about sounding rude, except it’s Liam. The guy’s known him since they were twelve, he gets it.
Liam doesn’t even bat an eye at his bluntness, just sighs and says, “So, you know camp?”
Or, Alex gets an unexpected call from his childhood bestfriend that brings up parts of his past he hasn't thought about in a long time.
OR, Alex is a demigod and Liam tells him about the wars.
