It's a snow day

Summary:

Reo likes the cold because of Nagi.
Nagi likes to keep Reo warm

Notes:

Hey guys!
So, honestly, I'm just writing this out cause, in my head, the idea of nagireo and snow is just so cute(?) and also because I've been wanting to write about them for a while.

Yeah, I hope you like this silly idea of mine <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

One tap on his phone. A second one on it again. And then it's finally done.

Reo has switched off his phone, just like he had promised. But that didn't solve all his problems. He was the heir to Mikage Corporation, a future owner in training, of course nerves and anxiety spiralled up his chest the second he put his, now, switched off phone down.

Just as he is about to give into his workaholic side and switch his phone on again, the door to their shared bedroom opens. Nagi waltzes in with two cups in his hand.

When Reo takes in the sight of the cups, a shocked laugh escapes his mouth.

“Nagi,” Reo walks towards the taller boy and takes the purple cup out of his hands, examining it. “Where did you find these?”

Reo absolutely can't hide his excitement. These were cups the two of them had painted a long time ago, back in high school. It was a silly, impulsive decision to use their holiday and scurry off to a random activity.

They were stupid, and careless and all that mattered was that they had each other.

“I kept them.” Nagi simply says, taking a sip of whatever he had brewed.

Reo takes a sip too, his heart fluttering a little. It was silly. It was so, so, so silly that all it took from Nagi was keeping old things, simple old things at that, to throw Reo in a complete frenzy.

'Ah, hot chocolate.'

“Reo,” Nagi calls out, setting down his cup. It’s painted with purple circles. “It's cold. It's snowing.”

“Oh? Is it?” Reo turns to the window to look out and it indeed is snowing. He is about to turn back when warm long fingers rest over his cheeks, soft palms pressing over his skin.

His eyes widen just slightly and he looks at Nagi in question, who in turn shrugs.

“It's cold.” He says simply. “You run cold easily.”

Nagi’s hand is warm from holding the cup and Reo wonders if he did it on purpose or if it's just a coincidence.

Reo did indeed run cold easily and for the nth time since he had met Nagi, he felt thankful for it. Feeling cold meant staying close to Nagi. Feeling cold meant that Nagi would do things like this.

Reo laughs lightly and stands motionlessly in front of Nagi, letting the other boy caress his cheek lightly. Nagi’s eyes are full of sleep (it's the winter Reo assumes), and his hair is probably tangled (Reo will have to look through that once they're lying back down in bed), signs that he was still in a daze, but that didn't stop him from warming Reo up.

That didn't stop the subtlest of smiles from appearing on his face when he brushes Reo’s bangs back.

“Nagi, let's sleep some more.” Reo says, putting his cup away on the table too.

And just like that, they're both lying next to each other in bed again, arms around each other. Nagi rests his head on Reo's chest and Reo runs his fingers through his hair.

The snow outside falls slowly, lazily and their hot chocolates cool with the weather.

That's ok, they can warm it up when they wake up again.

Oh, and suddenly, as Reo's eyes close and his breathing becomes shallow and even, he's not even thinking of the switched off phone on the table beside them.

Notes:

Firstly, thanks to all for reading <33

Secondly, here's some background about Reo's promise. Basically, Nagi made him promise to switch his phone off the day before since Reo was over working, that's all.
Also, the boys are maybe in their early twenties in the story.

Lastly, thanks for reading again♡
The story is short, ik, but I'm just experimenting with different tropes.
