Rook is not a sentimental man. He is not emotional, his life has afforded him very little opportunities to act with his heart and not his gut. He is not used to soft things, kind things, things that are good for him. So he doesn’t know what to do with all these big, soft, foreign, but not unwelcome feelings that he feels for Emmrich Volkarin. He’s unsure how to adjust to his domestic life with his new, established and famous lover. He plans something big to prove he’s not just a pet or a plaything for the famed professor.
