Bonjour Bluey! My Dad is helping me write this since my English isn’t too good yet. Your Dad gave my Dad his contact information so we can still talk. I hope the rest of your vacation was fun. After we finished camping, we went to my cousin’s house. We stayed there for awhile. We went to the beach; it was really fun and the water was nice and cool. We also went to this place where we got to see some koalas, there were some other animals too but the koalas were my favourite. Our flight back home was really, really long. It was almost 20 hours! I was so happy when we finally got back home. My bed felt so nice to sleep in. I was happy to see my cats again too.

Hi Jean-Luc! I was so surprised when my Dad showed me your letter. He forgot to tell me that he talked to your Dad and could contact you. I got a French book out of the library so I could learn a little French too. Koalas are so cute; I really like cheetahs. 20 hours to get back home is like forever. Having cats must be cool. We don’t have any pets. I hope we can one day though.
I start back at school soon. I’m excited to see some of my friends but I am a little nervous too. Do you start school soon?

Bonjour Bluey! Cheetahs are really cool too; I love how fast they can run. The flight did feel like forever. I love my cats; their names are Rocket and Flower. What kind of pet do you want? I hope you have a good time at school. I started school last week. It was nice to see my friends and I understand about being nervous. I have a different teacher than last year but she’s really nice.

Bonjour Bluey! I’m really enjoying school now. I am learning much more English now. I can even read a little bit of it too. My parents named my cats. I wasn’t born yet. They named them after some famous hockey players. Have you ever seen hockey? Hockey is my favourite sport. I go to hockey games sometimes, it’s so much fun. It’s fall here right now. I love jumping into piles of leaves. It’s so cool how it’s spring for you. We have Thanksgiving coming up and then Halloween. I love Halloween, it’s so much fun to dress up and get all the candy! I really like the summer as we get to go on vacation and go swimming.

Hi Jean-Luc! I haven’t seen a hockey game but my Mum looked up some videos of the Montreal team. It looks fun. I have gone skating once but I was not very good at it. I kept falling down. Can you skate? I like watching the State of Origin rugby series, everyone gets really excited about it. Cricket is also fun. One of my friends is very good at it. Halloween is not as popular here but at school we get to dress up! I’m going to be a pumpkin. What are you going to be?

Bonjour Bluey! I can skate a little bit, I’m taking lessons though. When it gets colder and snows then we can skate on outdoor rinks. My friend has one in her backyard, it’s fun to skate outside as long as it’s not too cold. My favourite player on the team is 13, the beagle. I have never heard of the rugby series. My Dad helped me look it up and we even watched some old games. It was lots of fun. We have a soccer (or football as you call it) team here. I have gone to a few games. We learned about cricket in gym class. I was not very good at hitting the ball, but it was still fun. I was Spider-Man. I hope you had fun dressing up at school for Halloween.

Joyeux noël Bluey! That means Merry Christmas. I hope you like this Christmas card; I made it myself. I am so excited for Christmas. Our house is all decorated and we have our tree up. I helped my Dad put the Christmas star on. I have been skating and sledding a lot. We went to a Christmas Village last weekend; it was lots of fun. The lights were so pretty, and we saw a parade with Père Noël (Santa). He even waved at me!

I can’t wait for Christmas either. It seems like it’s taking forever to get here. We decorated every room in the house! It took us all day. We have some kangaroo lights on the roof. We even have a little Christmas tree in me and Bingo’s room. We got to meet Santa too. A few of his reindeer were there and we got to meet them. I love the pictures of you skating, my Mum got them framed and they are on my nightstand. I can’t wait to hear what you did for Christmas.

Hi Jean-Luc! I hope you had a great Christmas. What did you get? We spent it with my Aunt Trixie, Uncle Stripe, my cousins Muffin and Socks. My Grandparents were on vacation but we did faceytalk with them. I got some new board games and a few craft kits. Me and Bingo made some friendship bracelets. I’m going to send you one!

Bonjour Bluey! Your Christmas sounds nice. I had a good one too. In the morning, we opened presents. I got my favourite player’s hockey jersey. I have been wearing it for days. Then in the afternoon we went to go see a movie. All of my Grandparents go to the southern parts of the USA to get away from the cold so we don’t have anything else to do. Sometimes we go see them for Christmas but we didn’t this year but we did talk to them. I haven’t been able to go outside much, it’s been pretty cold this week.

Hi Jean-Luc! Going to a movie on Christmas sounds fun. It’s really hot here for Christmas. I would love to see what Montreal is like in the winter, maybe one day I will be able to come. Sledding sounds like so much fun.
On the weekend I went to my Nana’s with my sister and cousins. We played charades.
Yesterday I went to the park with my Mum and Bingo. We met my friend Judo and her Mum there. I was a little nervous about seeing her because it had been a long time since I had seen her. She had been at her Dad’s for awhile. Once I saw her though, I totally forgot about being nervous.

Bonjour Bluey! Thank you so much for the friendship bracelet. It came this week. I really love it; I wear it all the time. I hope one day you can come here. There is so much to do. I hope you wouldn’t be too cold. I love playing charades. The snow is starting to melt now and there are puddles everywhere. I like going in the puddles but my parents don’t like me doing that.

Hi Jean-Luc! We had stumpfest the other weekend. It’s where you pull out stumps from trees that used to be there. My Aunt and Uncle were there with my cousins and our neighbour. We played nail salon on one of the stumps and painted it too. It was so pretty. Then my Dad tried to tried to rip up our stump while we were still using it. We agreed that if they wanted our stump, they had to be our customers. We got to paint their fingers and toes, along with face makeup on my Dad.
Last weekend it was Mother’s Day. What did you do for your Mum? My Dad helped Bingo and I make breakfast and then bring it to my Mum in bed but Bingo tripped and dropped the tray. She was really sad because she thought she ruined my Mum’s Day. We put on a show instead. I was my Dad and Bingo was my Mum.

For Mother’s Day I gave my Mum a paper flower we made in school and then we went out for lunch and walked around old Montreal.
School is almost out; I am excited for it to be over. Is your school almost done? We are going to Disney World, I can’t wait! Are you going anywhere on vacation?

You’re so lucky to go to Disney World, I hope I can go someday. I wish you weren’t so far away. I want to play with you again. Not on this break but we will be going camping later. It won’t be as much fun without you.

Bonjour Bluey! I hope you like this postcard. Disney World is so much fun. We can see the castle from our hotel room. We had breakfast where Mickey and his friends come around to your table. The rides are great, my favourite ride is Pirates Of The Caribbean. They have a soft serve treat called the dole whip, it’s the best. I have had a couple today.
I wish I could come see you, or you could come see me. Playing with you was my favourite part of the trip.

On Saturday Bingo and I had two babysitters. My Uncle Rad and Frisky. Frisky is my fairy godmother. My Uncle came last minute but Frisky came too because she didn’t know my Uncle was babysitting. I was a little nervous about having a babysitter putdown but it ended up being okay.
I think they like like each other. It’s so romance.

Joyeux Noël! I’m sending this out early so hopefully in arrives in time. We put up all our decorations today. It was really cold out so we didn’t put too many up outside. My Dad says he will put more out when it’s not as cold.
At school we made some gifts for our parents. We also had a Christmas concert. My class sang Vive le vent (Jingle Bells) and Il est né le divin enfant.
That’s really cool that Frisky and your Uncle are dating now. Maybe they will even get married.

Bonjour Bluey! Christmas cookies are so good, they’re hard to resist. I had a good Christmas. I got a board game called Dixit, it’s so much fun to play. Hi, Jean-Luc! Your Christmas sounds nice. I like hot chocolate but it’s usually too warm at Christmas to drink it very often. My Christmas was great. We went to Uncle Stripe’s house where everybody but Grandpa Bob and Uncle Rad were there. I got a big teddy bear that I named Bartlebee. We had a BBQ and went swimming as Uncle Stripe has a pool. Socks is talking a lot now. She’s really adorable. We also played classic catches. Uncle Rad and Aunt Frisky faceytalked us. Bartlebee was not having a good first Heeler Christmas. He got all wet, got attacked by a crocodile and then Dad broke his arm. Aunt Frisky had a talk with Bartlebee though and he decided to give us a chance and he wanted to stay. My favourite holiday movie is The Muppet Christmas Carol. Have you seen it? I like Elf too, it’s really funny.

I’m glad Bartlebee decided to stay.
I am doing really well in school; I got 10/10 on my English spelling test. I also did a book report on Nutshimit : Un bain de forêt. There is an English version too, it’s really good.
The snow is melting and it’s getting warmer. We’re going to plant some flowers but I’m not sure what kind yet.

Hi, Jean-Luc! My Mom ordered a copy of the book since the library did not have it. I really like it. I love planting flowers, it’s so exciting to see them grow and they smell so nice.
I recently went to see a movie for the first time. I went with my Dad and Bingo to see Chunky Chimp. I was a little scared at first, and then a scary bit played and I wanted to leave but then Bingo was running around the theatre so me and my Dad had to catch her. I got her but then decided I wanted to stay. I’m glad I did!
We also went to go visit my Granddad last week. My Granddad just had heartworm so he was supposed to be resting. When we got there though, he wasn’t. My Mum was a little upset at that so my Granddad took off running into the bush and we joined him. We got to the canoes but my Mum was getting really close to us. We hid in my Granddad’s friend cabin and then took off for the canoes. It was really fun being in the canoe. I love spending time with my Granddad.

Bonjour Bluey! We planted some flowers this week. My favourite is the Rudbeckia, they kind of look like sunflowers, just much smaller.
I’m happy you enjoyed the movie, I have seen Chunky Chimp, it was good. I really liked the last song.
I like spending time with my Grandparents too. One set of my Grandparents are in Cape Charles back east, my other set are in Quebec City. I still see them a couple times a year though.
In the Summer we are going to go to Nova Scotia, I can’t wait. Are you going anywhere?

Hi, Jean-Luc! I am writing this on our trip. We are camping. It reminded me of you. It was a different place than where we met though. Dad told us to look out for gray nomads on our way. Gray nomads are grandparents in big, slow caravans. My Dad didn’t want to get stuck behind them, if you do, you’re going to be the last to the campsite and get stuck in the worst spot, the toilet block! My Mum couldn’t find our tablets. Bingo wanted to play ispy but she always makes to too easy. She picked something blue and it was me. My Mum showed me how to play the Chunky Chimp barrel game but with my hand instead. It was actually pretty fun. We used cows instead of barrels. Then we got cow poop all over the car. My Dad tried to get us to stay in the car but I saw a car ride I wanted to ride. He then had to rush us all back into the car before the gray nomads got ahead of us.
Then I needed a bush wee and so did Bingo and they finally got ahead of us. The gray nomads were going to the big peanut and Dad wanted us to continue on the campsite but we convinced him to stop. It was so big! I included a picture.
Camping was fun. We toasted marshmallows, went swimming, and hiking too.
We leave tomorrow. I had a good time but I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.
Oh, the tablets were in the car, just not in the back.

Bingo’s birthday was last week. She wanted a duck cake. The head kind of fell off but my Dad was able to make a head out of the neck.

We went to The Museum of Natural History, a floating water park, a tour on an old boat; we also spent a lot of time on the boardwalk as our hotel was by there.

Merry Christmas Jean-Luc! Are you excited for Christmas? Last weekend we went to a Christmas market, and The Enchanted Garden which had a walkthrough Christmas lights display. It was beautiful. Santa also came to our school and we got books.

Joyeux Noël! I am very excited for Christmas. Last week we saw The Nutcracker, I really liked it. Have you ever seen it? I have been skating and sledding a lot since it’s so nice out.
We also had a school play. We did The Snow Queen’s Revenge on Hercules. I was Woogle, the Wizard Version of Google. I had so much fun.

Hi, Jean-Luc! Dying eggs is always fun, I like the designs you chose. I had a really good Easter. I was a little worried he wouldn’t come as he was late last year. He did write a note to us to explain. The Easter Bunny did come though. He left lots of clues that we had to follow to get to the eggs. It was worth it, there were so much chocolate, and even a bunny plush.

Bonjour Bluey! Have you finished all your chocolate yet? I haven’t because my parents only let me have a little bit at a time. I got a huge Reese’s peanut butter cup, it’s as big as my hand! I also got some hockey cards and mini sticks.

Hi, Jean-Luc! The room from across the hall used to be my nursery, and then it was Bingo’s when she was born until she moved into my bedroom. My parents cleaned it out this weekend. Bingo and I decided it would be fun if we each had our own bedroom so I moved into the old nursery. I realized that night though that I missed Bingo so I moved back in there.

Bonjour Bluey! Is it fun sharing your room? I find it fun when I have sleepovers. My cats also like sleeping in my bed sometimes.
School is out now. It’s getting pretty warm here. Last weekend we went to La Ronde. It’s an amusement park. There are lots of fun rides. My favourite was the Phoenix, I can’t wait until I am tall enough for the thrill rides.

Hi, Jean-Luc! Have I ever told you about Unicorse? He’s a puppet unicorn who is really funny but my Mum finds him annoying. He will interrupt and make a disaster of things. Last week I couldn’t sleep so my Mum was reading me a book and Unicorse kept on interrupting the story and ruining it.
Have you ever played chess? My Dad tried to teach me and Bingo. I don’t think I fully got it. I still had fun though.
My birthday is coming up! I’m going to be seven. I’m still trying to decide what I want to do for my birthday. I know yours is coming up soon too. Have you decided?

Hi, Jean-Luc! Thank you so much for the terrarium kit, I already put it together. It’s on my nightstand. It’s really pretty.
My birthday was really fun. At school we had a party and we went out for supper at my favourite restaurant. I got some books from Bingo and my parents got me a sushi bar activity kit; you get to make sushi out of clay.
My birthday party was great too. We played pass the parcel but we play Lucky’s Dad rules which means there is only one gift, but it’s a really big one! Bingo won a birdie kite. We had pizza and strawberry cake.

For my birthday we had a party at the movie theatre, we saw the new superhero movie. We also got to play in the arcade. I had vanilla cake. I got a new hockey jersey from my parents.

I forgot to tell you a funny story about my cousins. We were faceytalking, and Muffin was not finished drawing her cowboy hat and she was supposed to give Socks a turn. She didn’t want to so her Dad put her in time out she grabbed his phone and ran all through the house. She ended up accidentally dropping it in the pool. I know she shouldn’t have hogged but it was pretty funny.
My Aunt Brandy who is my Mum’s sister visited recently. I hadn’t seen her in a really long time. I don’t really remember meeting her before actually. I was pretty young the last time I saw her. She brought some onesies; I wanted the cheetah one but it was too small. It was really nice to see her. My Aunt and Mum also showed us a dance they made up when they were kids.
Last week there were some tradies at our house, they put in a fish pond. We spied on them and then reported it to our Mum. She was very interested in what we told her. The pond looks amazing.

Bonjour Bluey! I am writing this from Ottawa. We’re here for the May long weekend. We took the train in. I sat by the window. It was fun to watch all the things go by. We went to Parliament Hill and saw the changing of the guard. I really liked the changing of the guard. We also went to the science and technology museum. The hotel also had a waterslide so I got to go swimming too.

Muffin came over recently and our neighbour was having a garage sale. We saw she had a granny mobile so we decided to play grannies. Bingo was a “can’t hear anything” granny, I was a kind granny, and Muffin was a grouchy granny. We had Muffin pretend to sell us her granny mobile. She was so good at it; she even got my Dad to push her around.
A real grouchy granny came along and wanted to buy the mobile. Muffin was able to get her to pay way more than the sign. It was amazing. Then Muffin decided she was super granny; she even has her own cape.
Last week was the big game for the state of origin series. Lucky’s dad came over to our house, along with Lucky and Chucky. My Mum went to the game with Aunt Trixie and Frisky.
We were cheering for the Maroon’s. Lucky’s Mom was cheering for the blue team, she’s from New South Wales. Chucky and I went to watch the game with her for awhile. I think we might have been bad luck, they let in a few goals after we came over.
We even saw my Mum on the tv at the game!
Then yesterday Lucky’s family all came over for the rugby union test match. Australia wears gold and Chucky was so happy to have a team that both his parents cheered for.
It was all really fun!

School is out now and I am happy to be out. It’s been pretty hot here. I had a sleepover a few nights ago. We made pizza and watched some movies. We stayed up pretty late, I’m not sure what time it was though. I was tired the next day. I have been going swimming too.

We just got back from our trip; it was great! Our hotel was right on the beach. There were bunk beds, it was amazing! There was this huge bathtub too so Bingo and I took a bubble bath.
At the beach we did lots of things. We built some sandcastles, our Mum taught us how to throw, and of course swimming.

Bonjour Bluey! I was at a robotics camp last week. I really enjoyed it. We got to code robots. I made a few friends too.
We have also gone to the zoo, observation wheel where you can see from really high up. I think it’s really fun and so does my Mum but my Dad doesn’t like it. Yesterday we went to the Montréal archaeology and history complex. It was really exciting; it was like going back in time.

I’m pretty sad, we’re selling our house and moving. I don’t really understand why we have to move. My Dad got a new job in a different city. Why can’t he just stay at his old job?
Frisky and Uncle Rad are getting married very soon though. I’m going to be the flower girl.

Hi, Jean-Luc! As soon as I sent my last letter lots has happened. Frisky and Uncle Rad got married. It almost didn’t happen. Frisky got mad at Uncle Rad and they almost called the wedding off. My Mum took all of us (me, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks) to go find her. I got to ride in the front seat, it was amazing.
We tried looking everywhere and when we were just about to go home Mum saw a sign and remembered a place she and Frisky used to go as teenagers.
There were lots of people at the wedding, including my aunt Brandy, and Grandpa Bob (who was in India). Even Granddad was there. It was so much fun, we danced and got to stay up really late.
We’re not moving!!! The couple who were going to buy the house decided not to and my parents decided to stay. I’m so happy. I like my house and my friends. Maybe one day I will live somewhere else but not now.

The wedding sounds fun. I got to be the ring bearer in my Uncle’s wedding. I handed the rings to them, the best man held onto the rings before so I wouldn’t lose them.
Thanksgiving was last week; I really liked the turkey. I am also helping my Mom with my Halloween costume; I am going to be a jedi.

Hi, Jean-Luc! My Aunt Brandy had her baby, her name is Isla. She’s so cute! My Mum has been going over to her house to help Aunt Brandy. I get to go and help sometimes too. One time I was holding Isla and she fell asleep. It was adorable. My Granddad is so happy to have another grandkid too.

Today I got to stay home alone all by myself. It was only for an hour but it was so much fun. I put on some music and played it really loud. I also tried played mini sticks with my cats but they don’t really get it.
It was warm enough this weekend that we got to go swimming, swimming outside is so much more fun than inside.
This week is the last week of school, we have a class party on Friday and then on Tuesday is Fête de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste (St John the Baptist Day). I did pretty good on my report card, especially in science.
We are going to go see the fireworks on Tuesday, I’m really looking forward to it.
I put up the drawing you sent me of the dinosaur character you came up with, I love it! The Troodon was a really cool dinosaur. I like the name Zub too.

I start secondary school in a few weeks. I’m a little nervous, most of my friends will be going to the same school at least. It will be strange not going to the same school as Bingo. I’m sure she will be fine; she has good friends.
I signed up for a babysitting class so I can start babysitting and get some money!

The new cat we adopted is settling in well, we finally picked a name, Ghost because she is white and is able to go into the smallest places to hide. She’s really starting to come out of her shell. She loves running around the house at top speed, it’s so funny. I will send you a video of it soon so by the time you get this letter you will have seen it. I hope you liked it!

I have already talked to you about this but I needed to write this out. My Grandpa Bob died. I knew it was coming and I’m glad he’s not in pain anymore but I’m really going to miss him. He always made me laugh and had a smile on his face. He had lots of great stories too especially about Dad when he was younger. He really loved to travel as well. He even lived on a yacht with my grandmother before they had kids. I think that would be fun. I find the ocean so peaceful.
Thanks for listening these past few nights when I couldn’t sleep. It means so much to me.

I’m starting to get all ready for Christmas. I went to a teddy bear toss hockey game on Saturday. Everyone brings a plush to donate and when the home team scores everyone throws their plushies on the ice. They are then donated to a program that gives gifts to children who are in need. There were almost 16,000 donated this year. It was a blast.
I have also been baking a lot, I have made shortbread cookies, candy cane cookies, and Nanaimo bars. I wish I could send you some.

I am writing this from my sleep away drama camp. I am having a blast. We are going to be preforming Anne Of Green Gables and I am going to be Anne. I am so excited! I will be sure to send you a video of it.

My internship at the wildlife center is going really well. I am learning lots and getting to do new things every day. I am really starting to think I might want to study to become a wildlife biologist. I really want to make a difference in animal’s lives and I can do that in that field.

I know you’re on the plane right now so I thought I would write you a letter. I can’t believe I get to see you in a few days. I was not sure if I would ever see you again.

Bluey, I am writing this as you are sleeping next to me. I leave tomorrow. This past week was better than I could have imagined it.
The nature scavenger hunt you created was so thoughtful. The nightly campfire was the highlight of my day though. I can’t believe we went through an entire bag of marshmallows! The first time you kissed me was incredible. I think I’m falling in love with you, actually I think I already am. You get me in a way that no one else does. You soothe my soul. I like making you smile; my heart skips a beat when you look at me in that special way.
We can make this work if you want to. We only have a few years until university. We can find a place to go together.

Jean-Luc, I graduated senior secondary school today. I wish you could have been there but faceytalk was better than nothing. You have supported me so much and I am very grateful. I know I have said it before but I love the bracelet you got me so much. You picked out all the perfect charms for all the things I love most.
I have been busy packing all the things I need to take with me. If Muffin asks I did not take any of her books with me. I can’t believe we will actually be going to the same school and really get to be together. I am nervous about being so far away from my family but am looking forward to getting to live in a new place. I have made a list of all the things I want to do together.
