The gift on his desk was wrapped in pink, the gold accenting the pattern on the pink paper. He also didn't want to open it. It felt special to the teacher– not only because it was something for him, but because the present had him in mind. Not that he wouldn't be grateful for it if it wasn't wrapped in his favorite color, but this felt different.
The tag attached was in gold, too. He flipped it over to reveal a small note and name written in purple cursive.
Merry Christmas.
Min Jeung.
He smiles and traces over the ribbon. He loved all his students equally, even the tougher ones, but there was one student he believed had the most academic potential: Min Jeung. He loved her dedication to knowledge, it was inspiring.
Pulling back the wrapping paper, he discovered an apple in the small box. He recognized the pencil-sized holes in the top and smiled.
“Ah, I've been meaning to get one of those…”
