A letter written in careful, neat script. Included with the note is a single flower angled diagonally across the envelope. The delicate white petals identify it as a Shroud's Kiss.
Dearest Herja,
While I do respect your wishes to remain living separately for the sake of our reputations, it does not make your absence beside me in the coldest depths of night any easier. On that note, selfishly, I do hope you will reconsider my offer; there are no rules forbidding us from living together. Yes, I did ask Myrna twice, and no, she did not ‘make a face’ as you assumed she would when I informed her of our relationship status.
My darling, how I have missed your constant attentions since we returned to the Necropolis. No longer is it as simple as walking to the next room over whenever we wished to enjoy each other’s company; precious nights spent reading by firelight, your soft hand in mine as a reminder that I am no longer a lone soul without its tether.
You may not realize just what your presence alone means for me, my love. Basking in the warmth of our affections reinvigorates desires I thought long absent; dreams laid to rest to soothe my aching soul’s loneliness. You remind me that I have a purpose outside of my work, important as it is, that I am more than just a conduit of the Fade’s gifts. You remind me that I am a person, with human desires and wants.
Most of all, my dearest, you make me want to plan for the future. Our future. I promised you we would face whatever is in store for us, together, and that will never change so long as I still draw breath.
