Chapter 1: Summary

Chapter Text

During the summer before his third year at Hogwarts, Ron Weasley is bitten by a vampire while visiting his brother Charlie in Romania. The attack leaves him unconscious, and though his family nurses him back to health, they are unaware that Ron has been transformed—not just into a vampire, but into a royal vampire, a secret known only to the Vampire King and Queen.

As Ron returns to Hogwarts, he struggles with his new reality. His appearance has changed dramatically: his fiery hair is longer, his skin is pale, one of his eyes is white, and his sharpened teeth constantly remind him of the hunger he feels but cannot explain. To help him adapt, the King and Queen secretly send Alaric, a loyal vampire warrior, to watch over and train Ron, while keeping his royal lineage a secret from everyone, including Ron himself.

Throughout the events of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Ron finds himself torn between the mysteries of his vampiric nature and the challenges of navigating life at Hogwarts. While his friends, Harry and Hermione, focus on uncovering the truth about Sirius Black and the betrayal of Harry’s parents, Ron grapples with questions of identity and control, especially when he begins to crave strange blood-infused cookies given to him by Alaric—cookies secretly imbued with the blood of the King and Queen, which unknowingly sustain him.

The story reaches its climax during the confrontation in the Shrieking Shack, where Ron is gravely injured when Sirius Black, in his Animagus form, inadvertently drags him into the chaos. The Vampire King and Queen arrive to tend to Ron, but they cannot fully heal his broken leg, leaving him in agony. As they comfort him, they show an uncharacteristic tenderness, calling him their "treasure," though they refuse to reveal why he is so important. Meanwhile, the trio exposes Peter Pettigrew as the true betrayer of Harry’s parents, and Sirius is freed with Harry and Hermione’s help.

Back at Hogwarts, Ron begins to recover physically, but the lingering mysteries of his transformation weigh heavily on him. Why do the King and Queen care so much about him? Why do they call him their prince? And what is the destiny that Alaric keeps hinting at?

The story concludes with Ron returning home for the summer, supported by Harry and Hermione but still haunted by unanswered questions. As the Vampire King and Queen watch him from the shadows, it becomes clear that Ron’s journey is far from over.
