Summary
Lucanis doesn’t hesitate. He springs into motion as panic is overridden by instinct. Poison. What kind? What symptoms? How did this happen? How could Rook have left Emmrich vulnerable enough to be poisoned? He doesn’t wait for Rook or Harding to follow, singularly focused on the path he takes across the courtyard, taking the steps two at a time, breath coming harder as his light jog becomes an outright sprint through the library doors. Up the stairs, down the hall, through the door.
