It’d been raining the entire day.
Daniel had opened the coffee shop for the simple pleasure of it. He had a right to do so, and it wasn’t like he was forcing anyone but himself to work on their day off.
With this rain it was no surprise barely anyone had come by. It’d been the quietest day he could ever remember having behind the counter in the last couple months.
Perhaps it was time for him to close shop, it was past seven anyway. The likelihood of someone coming in at this hour was hilariously slim.
As if the universe had heard him and quickly decided he needed to be proven wrong at his earliest convenience, the little bell at the top of the entrance gently rang as the door opened.
The man standing by the door was completely soaked, which was only to be expected.His wet hair covered his eyes, making him feel utterly distant from everything and everyone.
It was a sorry look that he had on that handsome face of his, and it squished Daniel’s heart uncomfortably.
