Worlds were moving past her. It's the only explanation for how she can possibly be moving this fast on her own steam.
And two razor-sharp blades, of course - what's Washington without recreational mortal peril?
Ice skating is similar to cycling, in that it occurs on two objects. Feet. Wheels. Same thing. That is, however, where the similarities end. It is certainly not a skill which you can't forget.

Well, they’d passed. Her heart had clattered in her chest with all the grace of a runaway train - her approach having a similar risk level - but they'd passed.
Now, adrenaline is coursing through her veins. Light - if it dared try - would struggle to keep up.
A whisper of snow is stretching across the sky; waltzing with cinnamon.
Her heart slows as if to accomodation her speed.
This moment is all there is.
Skates and snow and cinnamon.
And her heart, beating calmly on.
